Flooded POTC boats

We just got back, and last week rode Pirates. Not only were the boats all soaked at the bottom, the first boat they tried to put us in had vomit on the floor. The CM tried to say that it was napkins people had used to wipe off the seats. Umm, clearly not napkins. The other people who had already gotten in the boat were saying they could smell it. We refused to put our feet in vomit and insisted that we get on the next boat. I was shocked that they went ahead and sent a boat through with bodily fluids.

So it's not just the ride that's broken... sounds like the CMs running it are cracking under the strain as well...

Yes, but it adds to the drunk pirate story. Makes it feel and smell more authentic.

DLR had problems with the said they didn't want them, then WDW said oh look free boats. The ride system is the same buy the measurements for the boats are different.

So can they ship these things off to EuroDisney and get new boats for MK?

EuroDisney is getting major renovation work done and has new management in place I don't think that is going to happen. DLP is also now majority owned by Disney.

No problems in Disneyland. The ride is much better, longer and smoother. My son who hates the drops in Florida actually rode it twice in Anaheim.

question for those of you who got the dry boats.
do the boats fill up any after the front row gets soaked?
was wondering if there is any escape , that the boat might get shoe soaking water in it, just because it is dry when shoving off.

i rode on the 18th. i asked for the back row and they were nice about it. Our boat looked to be completely dry, and the people in the front only got splashed during the drop. I looked at other boats as we were getting on and off and the ones I saw were dry. I guess we got lucky.

We have been lucky as well. We rode Dec. 20th midday and got a dry boat. We asked to be seated in the last 3 rows for our party of 10. We got a good splash on the drop, but that was all. Despite the huge splash, the people in the front row seemed fine. We also rode yesterday late morning. Once again, we requested and received the 3 back rows. We got a dry boat. The ride did stop for a few minutes at the beginning but then we were fine. No one got splashed this time around. The exit was dry for us as well. I noticed that the ride was closed later.

I'm glad we did not experience any major issues as it's one of our favorites. We did enjoy the new enhancements. I love the new scents! I hope that they fix the issues soon so everyone can enjoy POTC as it is meant to be experienced!

Joking aside, I didn't know they had added smell effects to the ride. Smells always make a ride more authentic.

I rode it a couple of days ago. I never noticed any new scents.

We rode once on our trip last week, every other time we tried, the ride was down. First trip where there were a lot of rides down throughout the trip. Maybe we've been lucky in the past, but by the end of the trip we were used to seeing 5-10 CMs holding the FP explanation cards outside a downed ride.

Unlike in October (around 5 p.m. on a party night when there was a 20 minute wait) when the boat had water in the bottom and people were getting soaked and dripping so the walkway up to the store at the exit was very slippery, the December ride boat was bone dry when we stepped in.

We asked for the back and the 3 people on the front row sounded like they did get a good splash on the slide down but their clothes were just lightly splotched upon exit. The boat was not packed, but the ride was a walk-on at that point. I think with the longer waits, they get more aggressive about filling each boat causing a lot of the problems.

They did add new scents...it's kinda similar to that burning scent in Spaceship Earth. I actually rather enjoy that.
