Flip Flops, seriously??

I got my Crocs clogs in the mail today. I don't get it. They feel terrible to me. Is it something that grows on you or should I just send them back? I think the nubbie things are what bother me most.

I love those Sanuk flip flops though. I may try the Mush ones if they are really good.

A person could do a lot worse than wear flip-flops to WDW.

..two words...PLATFORM HEELS....

I actually saw it once. I can only imagine how her feet must have felt during the course of the day. Of course, she was so cute, that I would have volunteered to massage her feet for the rest of the day.....

.....that is, if my wife weren't there, too..... hehe ;)

People just like me!!! I love seeing all these flip flop loving folks. My mother said I NEVER wore shoes when I was young. Flip flops are just a way of being barefoot but still have shoes on.:rotfl2:

I could wear flip flops the ENTIRE time and be totally fine! I wear flip flops almost year round (it takes a couple inches of snow for me to put shoes on:rolleyes1 ). As long as the flop is comfy- wear it!

I've considered wearing my FitFlops (they say they're a "workout while you walk" but I just like that they make my posture better and my back not hurt!).

BUT, be forewarned that there might be some rides that aren't exactly 'flop compatible' - it's my understanding that you'll have to remove them (and store them in a basket) for Soarin'.

HTH!

Yes, it is more a net bag that is attached to the seat and is right behind your legs. It also makes the ride that much more real when you have no shoes on. You can feel the air better.

like the ones posted, no wedge (b/c they didn't have them)..when I first put them on, they felt like a cloud:cloud9: ... I was sooooo going to buy those shoes...but I walked around the store a little bit, and the heel was doing something funny:sad2: , I guess I better just stick w/ the flops I got!:rotfl:

I just got my FitFlops a couple of weeks ago. I have only worn them a whole day one time and my legs were sore that evening. Nothing major, though. I don't know that I could wear them a whole day at Disney. I think I might try half a day. I am hoping these things really work!

I mistakenly wore flip flops on our first day of our most recent trip (May 2007) I figured they would be easy for airport security. I don't usually wear flip flops (just around the house - so never for extended periods of time) and our first day we did Epcot & Magic Kingdom - well by dinner time by foot was bothering me - started cramping & by the end of the night - it was killing me. As we were leaving the Magic Kingdom that night, we went to the monorail to head back to Epcot (we stayed at Boardwalk Villas) and I lost my flip flop - as I was stepping on the monorail - my flip flop fell between the small space between the landing & the monorail. I had to walk through Epcot barefoot - needless to say, I scrubbed my feet that night before heading off to bed! The rest of our stay I alternated between a pair of sandals (with straps around my ankles & sneakers).:goodvibes

What a real Cinderella moment! Did no one come to your aid??? See, I think that would have been the perfect moment for a dream to be handed out and you to be whisked back to your resort via private transport. ::::sigh::::: okay, not realistic, but would have been somewhat magical. Sorry that happened, you're fortunate you didn't step on anything sharp or oh-so-gross, glad you were okay!

Whatever you wear, make sure they are broken in and have good support. Once they hurt, it'll be hard to get the comfort back (unless that's your ploy to get permission for that spa visit). Disney walking isn't like everyday walking for most of us. My choice is Reebok walking shoes in the parks and flip flops most other times. Want the support in the parks, but wanna breathe at all other times. I have Reebok slides and between the toe type(probably for pool days).

Reebok has 40% sales for AAA members in my area. So I'm not plugging Reebok, but at 40% off outlet prices I find things that work! Heck my Disney attire is even cute, lol!

Another flip flop lover here! I totally live in my Rainbow brand flip flops! Honestly, my feet hurt in every kind of foot work after a day in the parks :rotfl:

when I lived in NY - I wore sneakers in the parks everytime I went to WDW - which was quite often... I used to complain all the time to DH that my legs would swell up in the parks -
now - we have lived in Hawaii the last 2 plus years - and I live in flip flops....so... I started wearing them at WDW (three trips so far) and I cannot beleive I suffered all of those previous trips in sneakers! My legs do not swell... I am comfortable...

so... if you want to wear flip fllops - go for it! I do suggest one's with a thicker sole - like atleast an inch thick to give you a little more support - so that your feet don't get as tired.
works for me!

:yay: :thumbsup2

My feet have very high arches and are really wide. I have yet to find a pair of flips I can wear walking around that much. I need shoes with really good support if I'm going to be walking around all day. Normally I wear my beloved Keds all the time, but when in Disney I have to suck it up and wear good walking sneakers.

Wear your Crocs around the house for a day or so and then decide. After a while, the "nubbie things" don't feel as strange. I felt the same way the first day that I had mine. Now, though, I absolutely love them and will wear them on my next WDW trip in Sept. Also breaking in a couple pairs of flip flops for the trip. :cool1:
