Flex offer????? Need Help

Called to make my reservations to WDW today. I had plans of booking Pop. The representative I was speaking to offered me a "flex offer". The offer was to upgrade to CBR water view room for just $4 more. He said it was a package that was booked by someone else, but than they cancelled, so instead of breaking up the package they offered it to me at rock bottom pricing. Of coarse I took it, but now I am having some doubts. Is this a room that nobody wants, so they are just putting me there to fill the spot?? Is this a good deal?? Has this ever happened to anyone?? Just like the old saying goes, if it sounds to good to be true than it probably is. LOL. Any input on this would be great!!!!!!!!

I think it's a great deal! Don't worry, it's not "too good to be true!" Disney does this occasionally when the values fill up and offer you an upgrade (it's easier for them to book values).

Sounds like a great deal!! The actual room isn't assigned until a few days before your arrival, so you can make a room request like everyone else.

On a similar note, once as I was checking in at Pop Century the CM asked if I would mind getting a free upgrade in resorts. Five minutes later my family and I were taken by Disney van to the CSR.

What a fantastic deal! I've stayed at the CBR many many times and the resort is absolutely beautiful! The longest walk we have ever had at the CBR was just 5 minutes to Old Port Royale (main pool, food court, etc.) and that was from one of the furthest buildings away (not a pirate room). Remember that, when going from Pop to the CBR, you're getting a larger room, a free fridge, coffee pot and more amenities (pool with slides, hot tubs, marina, etc.).

I just wanted to add that your room hasn't been assigned yet, so it's not a room that nobody else wanted. I don't mind Pop, but I would be all over this upgrade if they offered it to me.

Flex views are real and often awesome! I was offered a flex deal for $800 for a studio at SSR (4 nights), but decided not to take it because it's one bed and one pullout couch instead of two beds. Don't feel weird at all. You got a great deal. Enjoy!

I have heard of this "flex rate" before and find that it usually involves upgrading to a moderate because they are harder to fill compared to the value resorts. Is this because Pop Century is overbooked often? Also, if Disney has a hard time filling up the moderate resorts as compared to the value resorts, I wonder if they would ever consider lowering the pricing on the moderates somewhat.

They'll discount the price but heaven forbid they should ever lower a price.

Wow that is great. I would love to stay CBR and would be jumping all over the place. Pop is nice, but CBR is very lush and has that tropical feel - bigger rooms, a full menu dining room and a lovely, lovely pool. What's not to like for $4 extra bucks. Have a great stay, you can always go back to Pop another trip.

Quite the contrary; they just added a bunch of different (higher priced) categories to some of the mods and they are having no problem filling them....

is this something you can call and inquire about or ask if it's being offered or is your chance of being offered the "flex rate" upgrade similar to your chance of getting a pin code?

Right, they probably have no problem booking up POR or POFQ, but it seems like when I hear about this "flex rate" upgrade being offered it always involves either CSR or CBR.

I got offered flex at SSR earlier this week when on the phone with a rep. She was looking up completely different resorts when this apparently "popped up." She said each rep gets around one flex offer per day. You pretty much have to decide if you want it right then or it "turns into a pumpkin." What you can do is book it, then change later if you decide you don't want it. That's what we did.

I highly doubt it's something you can request, sadly. It seems like a luck of the draw kind of thing.
