My husband who never ever, ever had motion sickness in his life and who loves all coasters, spinning, dropping type rides (he even loves the orange side of Mission Space

) got deathly ill at the very beginning FJ where you use Hermione's floo powder to go through the chimneys. Between the chimneys and the smell, he was ill the rest of the ride last Oct. I had given him a Meclizine both the night before and again prior to leaving WDW that morning. He laughed, reminding me had never been sick on an amusement ride before in his entire 50+ years, but took it to pacify me after I told him FJ was different from any ride he'd ever been on before. After riding he looked positively green and then felt off the rest of the day. Now granted he was on medication for a sinus infection at that time and still blames his unusual motion sickness on that. However, we went back over the next day and he did not take his sinus medicine. He again got sicker than a dog. On the other hand surprisingly it doesn't both me at all and I can ride it over and over.
We rode it again last week when we were down there (April 30th-May 8th). We both again took Meclizine the night before and the morning of and neither of us had any trouble. Although my husband would still just ride it one time, whereas me and a friend rode it several times in a row utilizing the single rider line. It didn't make my husband sick and he went straight and rode Spiderman and Hulk with no problem and then a few hours later did both the Mummy and Simpsons with no trouble. But he says FJ still leaves him not necessarily particularly sick, but just feeling a little off.

Considering the tea cups, 3D movies, Body Wars, Star Tours, none of the coasters, Mission Space, Spider Man, nor the Simpsons even phases him, I'm not sure what his problem with FJ is, but it seems to knock him for a loop, starting at the beginning where you go through the chimneys. For me the only place I feel a little odd is right after Hagrid asks if you've seen a dragon and you sort of dip down. It doesn't make me ill at all, just gives me a sinking sensation in my stomach when the bench dips downward then back up.
