Five Guys Burgers & Fries

....I like their burgers way better than Boom Burger....

We've had 5 Guys around here for a few years. The first time we went, the food was really good. After that, not so much. We think they are overpriced, too.

There are several other local places that we prefer more.

Burgers are okay, but the fries are out of sight. Love them.

However, we have a Shake Shack in town, so that generally wins over Five Guys. Sorry Guys!

Big fan of 5 Guys bacon cheeseburger. The fries? Not so much. To me they always have a gritty feel (and taste) when I bite into them.

Now Smashburger, Smash fries? Amazing. Give me Smashburger fries and a 5 Guys bacon cheese.

We love five guys in this house. We have two in our area and I have never had a bad meal. The restaurants are always clean and the people are always super nice. On a positive note as well, they are the only fast food restaurant that I am comfortable with getting my two gluten allergic children a meal from. We were recently in Dallas where they have some In n Out burgers. Despite being told repeatedly that there fryer was dedicated, my boys still reacted from their fries, twice. I like in n out a lot, but think five guys is better. Much better than any shake n steak I have ever eaten out. Never had a smash burger. We don't have those.

Another thing I miss now that I live in the middle of no where.
My family likes 5 Guys, but I agree that it is a lot of food. Most of the time I would get either the hot dog or grilled cheese and share fries with the kids.
I liked Steak N Shake burgers, but the fries are just ok.
For me, the best burgers and fries are from non-chain restaurants.

We love Five Guys even their fries. I like Twisted Root a bit better but the others prefer Five Guys.

We always share fries. They give you a ton!

We did finally get In-and-Out and none of really get the appeal. They're OK but not all that. We have had Steak and Shake for years and none of us like them.

We ate at a five guys this weekend on a road trip. I ate the hot dog. It was good and the group we were with ate the burgers. We all agreeded that the food was good but over priced. 2 hot dogs with one order of small fries and 2 cokes was 16.00. 2 burgers with 1 fries and 2 drinks was 20.00.

We've had them in my area for about 4 years. After hearing my son and husband rave about them I finally tried a burger and fries. Didn't hate it but I don't feel the need to go back.

We really like Five Guys... DH says their burgers are good but any place that has an option to get a hot dog, I'm getting it! So I've never had their burgers. I really like hand-cut fries & I think theirs are good but I've had better at other places. My 4yo likes the hot dogs too. :)

Though, living in Northeast Ohio, nothing, absolutely NOTHING can compare to Swenson's. Their burgers are the best burgers on the planet. Truth. :thumbsup2

Burgers are okay, but I love the fries.

DH and I love Five Guys. We each order a little cheese burger w/bacon, and one order of cajan style fries. The portions of fries are ridiculously large, so we split!

Not a big Five Guys fan. We've been a few times, but the burgers are just ok, very messy, and not worth the price. Same with the fries.
I prefer steak and shake. Also, its a heck of a lot cheaper! Can get a triple burger and fries for 4 bucks. Thats one downfall of five guys, no combo meals!

Dd and I love Five Guys, but it's a very occasional treat for us because of the prices! As others have said, we both get littles, and split a small fry. I miss Steak n Shake! Don't have any of the others mentioned around us, unfortunately.

Love 5 Guys! We always order Little Cheeseburgers and one order of fries for the whole family! Everything is hot and fresh... Definitely better than any other fast food chain!

ditto. I load up on toppings though. I do mushrooms, onions, pickles lettuce and tomatoes. I do love them and the fries. They are typical boardwalk fries here.

I love their cajun fries! However, DH and I always just split a small order since they're so generous with the portion. We still can't finish them. :thumbsup2

Never have eaten their. Never have wanted to. Hear the meals are huge though.

I prefer Johnny rockets or IN N OUT.

Just curious...if you've never tried Five Guys (and I'm not a fan), how do you know you prefer the others??

IMO, our Five Guys is actually one of the better fast foods in our area :goodvibes. Matter of fact we ate there this week :)! The small burgers are more than generous, so we go w/empty stomachs...lol. We split an order of sm. fries, DH likes fries w/ketchup and I enjoy vinegar as it reminds of 'Thrasher's' in Ocean City ;). We also enjoy the green tea selection. Altho he loves peanuts, but does not prefer the salted kind. We also enjoy ours has an outside patio, so we can enjoy nature in good weather. :goodvibes

OT, but I have to comment about Thrasher's....I just don't get the hype. I  fries. DSIL raved about the Thrasher's fries. After waiting in line for 45 minutes to get some (off-season, too...how crazy is that??), I was totally disappointed. They weren't horrid, but definitely not waiting in line for.
