]I am going to Disney in Feb. Last time we were there was on our honey moon in 03. Now we have a 15 month old and I don't know how this is going to go. If anyone has any tips on anything that would be great. I am especially undecided about having her in her own bed or letting her sleep between us or bringing her travel yard? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks, Nicole

We are also taking our 15 month son. We are leaving Thurs. Jan 12. We are staying at POR and I will try to give you some feedback when we get back on how it went. We are taking our own stroller and are using the pack n play crib the hotel has.

We travelled with a 5 year old and 15 month old. If possible, request two double beds instead of one king. DH slept in one bed with the older one and I slept in the other bed with the young one with a bed rail on the other side of her. We crammed blankets between the bed rail and bed so that she would not be able roll in between the bed and rail. This worked good and we weren't tripping over a pack and play during the day.
Mine was never much of a napper, so we ended up just renting a double stroller at the park and she stayed awake and happy all day, only passed out on Daddy's shoulder both nights leaving the park. If yours is a good napper, I would bring my own stroller.
Only thing that surprised me was how VERY sore my back and arms were the day following MK. Picking her up and putting her back in the stroller all day and then picking her up to get on rides was very hard on the back and arms. Make sure you share the 'load' as much as possible and bring lots of Tylenol!

My suggestions (most gathered from here) from our recent trip with a 10m old are:

1. Bring a cheap plastic shower curtain liner (dark in color) and a few of those 3M clips for the wall that can be pulled off. You can then create a little "room" for the pack and play in your hotel (we did this in a corner of the room), so the little one can sleep without seeing everyone.

2. Bring a baby Bjorn (carrier), for the ride lines and rides, if she can fit in it still. (we felt a lot safer with her in it while on rides (small world, peter pan, jungle cruise etc.) than loose and able to crawl around.

3. Bring a towel into the park. You can drap it over your stroller and block out some of the commotion if she can nap in her stroller.

4. Take a break EVERYDAY for a nap back at your hotel (esp. easier if you are on property). Everyone is then refreshed and can stay out a bit later.

5. Bring a lot of snacks for the lines (puffy's, cherrios, crackers)...just be careful so they don't all end up on the ground for everyone else to step on.

6. If your stroller doesn't have a rain cover, bring an extra rain slicker for it (target has them for just a few $ in the travel & sporting areas).

7. Bring your own stroller. The parks rent them, but they are not too good for little ones. (they are really $$ too).

8. Use the baby care centers. They are great for feeding/diapering/ or resting. (they also have toys for older siblings)

9. Use the Baby Swap at all rides they allow. This feature allows 1 parent to ride (with other children/people in party), then non riding parent gets to go on ride through fast pass line when the riding parent returns (up to 2 people get to join them too-- so it is fun for other siblings to ride 2x).

10. Bring music to play in your hotel room and or run heating/aircond fan to create white noise while the little one is sleeping and you are still awake. (we brought our IPOD with speakers and put it under the pack and play, playing Disney Music of course :) )

11. Most importantly enjoy your self and slow down!

THanks for the GREAT IDEA on creating a "room" for our 10 month old. This is our 5th trip to Disney w/ our now 6 year old and we weren't sure how the little one would sleep if he could see us.

I agree on your own stroller if they are less than 2 or 3. After that, we rented one...but they are plastic and get hot in the sun.

Thanks again...

The hotel may have a crib/pack-n-play, so you don't have to bring one. Try to have them sleep in there, perhaps using the suggestions above to let the little one not see you.
Does your child sleep in a stroller well? You may not have to go back for a nap then.

You are going to have so much fun! We took DGD at 16 months in May. She loved it! The baby centers are so nice for a few quiet minutes away from the noise and commotion of the parks. Her absolute favorite thing was playing in the Epcot fountains. She was so fascinated. It was so much fun watching her.
The one thing that I would be sure to do next time is to bring lots of canned/jarred vegetables with us. It was kind of hard to find some when we weren't eating TS meals. Most of the kids meals were mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, etc and came with fries or crackers, or raw carrots which she couldn't eat yet.
She was so intent on people watching and all the things she saw that we never even got out the toys we took for her.
We packed diaper changes in a Ziploc bag (a diaper and a snack-size ziploc with a couple wipes) so it was easy to just reach in the diaper bag, pull out a ziploc, and then we could put the used diaper in the bag and seal it.

This sounds like a great idea! One question though, how did you prevent the wipes from getting the diaper wet if they were in the Ziploc bag together?

Thanks! :flower:

We put the wipes in a snack-size ziploc along with the diaper in a quart-size ziploc. That kept the diaper dry.
