Hello!

I am planning my first trip to the Disney’s Parks in Orlando from Panama. This will be a gift for my 2.5 years twins, my 9 years niece and why not to say it, for me. In this trip, I will be travelling with my sister to help me out with the kids.

I have many doubts in my head about the trip, and I know that I will have more, so I want to start with a couple of them:

The planned trip is for the last days of January and first days of February (7 nights), taking into account three things:

a) I don’t have to pay for the park admission for my twins, given that their next birthday is in July 2012
b) I understand that those dates are not in the crowded season of the park.
c) Disney has for those dates a Free Dinning Plan Promotion

But… Having read that those dates are not peak or high season, I am still worried about how crowded could be the parks? Given that I will be pushing a double stroller that I will rent from Orlando Stroller Rental and yes, I know that it coud be tiring, but if I am not wrong, maybe to rent 2 single strollers would be so expensive.

As I said, it’s a trip planned for my little kids and even when I will focus in give them the opportunity to get into every possible attraction that they can ride (they are 39”, the boy and 36”, the girl), we are willing to give us a time for the attractions for older kids (my niece) and for adults (my sister and me). I have read that many attractions have a feature named Baby Swap or something like that, but I have not found a complete explanation about how it actually works. Someone could help me with this?

Originally I had chosen the All Star Movies Resort, because I really fall in love with its theme, however, reading a lot of reviews about Disney’s hotels, I changed my mind and turned to the Pop Century, based in the not shared buses system and because many people say that it is better than any of the All Stars hotels. Is this correct?

How hard could be to take a double stroller from the hotel to the parks in a bus? This is one of my big worries, because it will be my best friend while dealing with my kids.

Giving that the mother of my kids wont go with us, I am a bit worried with the diapers change issue. I am a master on that, haha, but my sister and niece are not so skilled into that and I would like to know how it works at the parks. The diaper changes have to be made only in the ladies bathroom or there is a special shared place where they can be changed. Remember that I have a couple, a boy and a girl.

About the Free Dinning Plan than Disney offers during our planned visit, they advertise that a refillable mug will be available for each guest (sadly at this point, my kids are under 3 and I understand that they wont receive the mug and I should to buy them). I read also, that I could share my food with them, but what about sharing the content of a refillable mug between my twins while being at the resort? I have seen some photos and they look big enough. Its not the biggest deal, because I think they cost around $15, but in certain way, would be a waste of money that I could use in something else.

Eleven years ago, I had the opportunity to visit Disneyland Paris and inside the park I found some outlet stores where I grabbed some good souvenirs. I have read a lot about people going to Orlando Premiun Outlets to buy Disney stuff, but what it means? It means that there are no outlet stores inside the Disney World parks and everything then is sold at high prices? I am really thinking about this, because I would have to sacrifice time at a park while going to an outlet to buy stuff.

How exactly work the Extra Magic Hours? Its easy understand the early ones, but what happens with the late ones? Guests staying out of the Disney Resorts are forced to leave? What is the control they use to avoid people staying when they should not be there? And, for the resorts guest, beyond more park hours, there are less crowded lines or that is relative, thinking about people with Park Hopper tickets that could take advantage of them.

As you can see, there are a lot of questions in this post and probably others are in the road, sorry for that.

To everyone willing to help me out, thanks in advance for your comments, suggestions and answers.

Regards,
Edgar

Hello!
let me see if I can help with some of your questions :D! I have no children but I have been planning a trip with my aunt and her daughter (2) so I have spent a lot of time online :surfweb: looking for info on going to Disney with kids :)

Baby Swap - For all rides that have a height requirement there is a 'baby swap' option. This works a little differently on each attraction. The trick is the first cast member you see, for the ride your going to ride, let them know you would like to do the baby swap and they will instruct you on what to do :)

Diaper Changing - There are Baby care centers in each park, where you will find changing tables :) They have things like formula, bottles, children's sunscreen etc. for sale as well.

Hope this helps! :goodvibes

Thanks a lot KaylaMarie.

Now I am very clear about the Child Swap and the diapers changes.

Your answer also, opened my eyes to something that I was forgetting badly: the sunscreen for all the party... :thumbsup2

As a mom who has traveled with multiple children, multiple ages - the stroller - does it fold up well? As long as it is lightweight, you should be fine. I have hauled a big one, as well as a lightweight double umbrella and have been fine. There are family restrooms to go into all together, and the baby care stations in each of the parks are great!

Take time to rest every day - you and the kids will be happier. The ride change works like this. Walk up to the cast member at the entrance of the ride. Let them know you'd like to ride exchange. They should give you a fastpass to re-enter the line once your party exits the ride.

Hello!

Basically I have been attracted by the City Double Stroller that Orlando Rentals offers. They have this statement on the information of the stroller "Designed to be one of the most lightweight and easy-to-fold strollers on the market", so I want to think that is true. :littleangel:

I understand what you say about resting. I am a bit concerned about that, because at the beginning, I know that the party will be so excited in a non-stop fun seeking and this could be a big mistake. I have also planned do not start in Magic Kingdom, but go to a smaller park like AK to get into the environment of the parks and dont fall dead at the end of day. But I dont know if I am going wrong with this. :confused3

Thanks for the support. :thumbsup2
