hey guys,
i have been so blessed to find these boards and all your responses. what i wanted to ask was if anyone knows how well big dogs do with the kennels? we will be heading out to DW in September '07 for our first trip (been planning it for 16 years :teeth: ), and will be taking along our 70lb german shepheard. she is our baby as you can guess and in order to have peace of mind are needing to bring her along. she has never been in a kennel before other than when she goes to the groomers for 4 hours every few months. so we were thinking she may do better in an outside kennel rather than an indoor.

i was wondering how big the outside ones are? i was able to find the dimensions of the largest indoor one, but the size will just give her enough room to maybe turn around in. any help you all can provide is beyond greatly appreciated! my mom is not a camper nor wants to leave her baby here, so this should be an interesting trip lol. any suggestions on calming a non-camper about the wildlife at FW?

I can't help much with the kennels except to say that you will be required to visit and walk the dog several times a day, the staff does not/cannot do this for you. If you are staying at FW you can get a site in a pet loop and keep the dog in your rv/trailer. As for the "wildlife" at FW she has very little to worry about, yes you will occasionally see snakes and gators they are rare, unless you go cannoeing. More likely you will see bunnies and ducks, the bunnies will run from you and the ducks if they do not run will be begging for food.

Wildlife also consists of an abundance of deer and armadillo. Both are pretty well used to humans, which makes for great observation but don't touch. There are also flocks of turkey around, but I have seen those on the golf courses mostly.

Outdoor dog runs are fairly large, in a covered area with overhead fans for circulation.

thanks so much for the replys! i was wondering about the air circulation in the outdoor runs. now the next trick is getting my mom past the gator thing ;)
