First Timer!!! Inside Stateroom or Oceanview?

So want to say we are so excited to go on our first family cruise with Disney!

We are taking our two little ones, 6 and 7 year old.
With that said, we keep going back and forth about an Oceanview room and where on the ship to get the Inside Stateroom or Oceanview Room. We know there is a difference in price.

What is everyone's advice when it comes to inside stateroom? Mid ship? Front?
Is there a preferred deck to be on?
What about Oceanview Room? Mid ship?

My wife and 7 year old does get sorta motion sickness on car rides but thats if they are staring out the window and such which is why we are reluctant.

Any help is needed?

Welcome Gus! You don't say which ship you'll be sailing on but if you're on the Dream or the Fantasy, your kids would probably enjoy the inside staterooms with the magic portholes. I stay midship because of my motion sickness. The rooms are smaller but you're not in it that much anyways!

Close to the deck 5 is a good idea if you think you will be using the kids clubs. Since you are on the Wonder there are no magic portholes, so an outside room would be a good choice if you can swing the cash difference or won't plan on using it for excursions.

How many days? Over 4 or more, vote for ocean view. Midship is best for sea sickness. 3 night we are fine with inside, actually even a 4 night as we are not in the room much.

On Dream since they have the virtual windows, we do go that route and go with inside on both 3 and 4.

We did the Magic last year, inside stateroom with 2A, 2C (8,16). The room was fine for the 4 of us for 11 nights. We did balcony on other DCL trip, which was nice. Since your kids are not likely to nap, I doubt you'll be in your room much. Some people need natural light, so if that matters to your family go with ocean view. Mid ship for a little less movement, however you might not be in your room much except to sleep, and you'll find yourself all over the ship for various activities. Have fun.

Well the kids are younger so I dont know if we would do the excursions for snorkeling and things like that.

I heard the Disney Wonder is going to Dry Dock in Aug-Sept. time frame. Im curious to know the updates they are going to do...

We are going on the 7 night cruise in January to the Bahamas.

We took our first cruise in March 2015. We did inside cabin, 7 nighter on the magic in an aft room on deck 6. We LOVED it. We were a few decks below cabanas and it was so nice. We never wished we had a verandah once. Best vacation ever.

We recently returned from a 3 day on the Dream and we booked a verandah this time as it was only $100 more. We really enjoyed the verandah when we pulled into and out of the ports, but other than that, it wouldn't have made much of a difference.

For our next cruise, it really just depends on what the price difference is. I prob wouldn't pay more than $30-$40 more a night for a verandah. I would much prefer a better room location. For our next cruise im going to try and get a room directly under Cabanas.

Anywhere on the ship is better than off.

We`ve mostly done inside but also had portholes. I didn`t particularly miss the portholes when we didn`t have them. We don`t spent too much time in the room. If you`re interested in saving the money, you won`t mind it much. Our insides have always been deck 2 (Wonder and Magic) towards the back (but not all the way back). Great location.

deck 7 and close to the aft elevators and stairs. Get an oceanview, you can always keep the drapes pulled!
