We're planning to go on the 7 night Western Carribean Itinerary in July 2004.

When will fares come out?

Are there ever any discounts?

Is the difference between the Cat 4 Family Suite and CAT 5 or 6 worth the extra cost for 2 adults and 2 kids?

When should we book for 2004?

Should we use a travel agent or book through DCL directly?

Thanks for any help and advice!

The current 2004 rates, until april, just came out about two months ago, so July maybe around the corner. Suggest that you check DCL site on a regular basis.

Just early booking discounts at this time, or Florida state resident discount

As soon as you can to take advantage of early booking. We have 2004 booking made when it came out using DU. I just checked and it looks like the fare went up about 250.

DU is offering a rebate and credit now. YOu may want to check these boards for others like COSTCO, AAA etc... You will find many different opinions and thoughts on this....

Hope this helps and welcome to the boards!!!

I would also use DU, because if for some reason the rates go down with certian discounts, they will look for you versuses you looking and needing to call them. Usually the earliet you book, the biggest discount you will get now.

The category 4 isn't actually a family suite, it is just a family stateroom. The additional size is just enough floor space at the end of the sofa for a single murphy bed to drop from the wall for the 5th person in a cabin. Other than that small block of space, it is the same size as the other staterooms(except 11 and 12 which are a little bit smaller) The 5 and 6 are exactly the same room except for the deck they are on. I would book the 6 from those choices, but that is just me. I've never heard a complaint about the category 4 family rooms. Look at the cruise book to see the layout of the ship. That might help you decide.:D
