Hi everyone! I’m planning my first-ever Disney trip and feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the options. I want to make the most of it without over-planning.

What are the must-do rides or experiences for a first-timer?
Any simple tips to avoid long lines or save some money would be super helpful.
Thanks in advance!

The longer you go, the less stress you'll have. We usually go about 14 days. Then we have plenty of time to relax and don't feel rushed to do everything in one day. You can sleep in some days.

I'd buy a 10-day ticket, the cost per day is HALF what it would cost for a 4 day trip. A 10-day ticket is valid for 14 days. Decide when you get there which 4 days you won't go to the parks. Those days you can relax by the pool, in your hotel room, do laundry, etc.

There will be rainy days. Usually there are 2 of them when we go. If you plan a shorter trip, those will be annoying.

Don't make more than a couple of dining reservations. They are very costly and eat up a lot of your time.

It all depends on the ages of your kids - if you have them - what rides and attractions you'd plan to see, and when. It also depends on what time of the year you're going. There are crazy busy times and less busy times.

There are so many variables. Who is going? If you have kids, what ages? Will you visit all the parks? I would look online at the rides in each park and see what interests you. There are also shows, character meets, etc. Are you planning on staying at a Disney resort or offsite? Arriving for rope drop in the morning can help avoid long lines.

I would do MK first. Go on the greatest hits (Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Under The Sea).

Additionally, I would also just stick to one park per day. LLs are NOT cheap. The $40+ you spend on LLs could have easily been more snacks or Disney gifts. Just map out the attractions you desire beforehand and go standby.

Also, if you are trying to stay offsite, consider staying at a Disney Springs hotel. Drury is the cheapest of them all… and they provide shuttle service to the parks! Staying near Disney Springs will also afford you the opportunity to hop to the many Disney hotels and enjoy their dining options in addition to the dining at Disney Springs. The Disney Transport buses, Disney Skyliner and water taxis are an attraction all their own.

Finally, don’t overbook table service! Pick only 1 or 2 for your whole visit. The quick service options are just as magical (mmmm Mickey sandwiches)!
