So of course I thought I should use it to go to Disneyland Paris.
My DH and I both work so we would only have about 2 weeks to spend in Europe. All help is appreciated.

Background - I grew up in SoCal so DLR is "home" for me. Currently I live in the Washington ( State of) in Vancouver so trips are now limited. I have been to WDW 3 times and my bucket list includes visiting all the Disney Parks.

My wish list/ questions for this visit:

  • How many days for DLP? Is there a "best time" / worst time in terms of crowds/ special attractions- decorations?
  • I want to go to Paris and do the tourist thing - day trip or get a room and spend a couple of days there?
  • Side trips if possible:
  • Switzerland - specifically near Bern - my Father was born there and though I never got the chance to go with him to visit his birthplace I would like to see it "for him."
  • England- I'm a Jane Austen ( Harry Potter) fan as well as a Anglophone in general. Once again want to do the tourist thing.
Try to do this on our own or use a travel agent - we work so we do not travel much so it's a balancing act on try to get the best price but also not stress ourselves out trying to do all the logistics.

Any guide books you would recommend for me? Something that might give me tidbits of information to make the trip more memorable?

Let me know if my wish list exceed my time constraints. If we go in October ( Anniversary trip) is there such a time as fall color? Autumn is my favorite time of year but I don't know what the weather is like... cold I don't mind - cold and rainy - not so much.

For any and all advice - Merci beaucoup!:)

just a couple of thoughts from me:

- if you decide to go in October, go in the first half as later most of the Europe got school holidays and it will be very busy

- you can get a direct train (Eurostar) from Disneyland to London and its just over 2hrs and you are in London city centre, so dont know how do you want to fly but maybe to Paris and then just fly back from London/other part of Europe?

- I would book for 3night/4 days at least so you don't have to hurry, also when booking you can use any of the dlp countries website not only US one and French and British one usually got the best offers on (everything is coming via email so no worries here)

- from DLP it takes ~40mins to get to Paris city centre so it really depends how much to you want to see and how many time to want to change hotel etc

other will probably add some more and if you got more question just ask:goodvibes

If you're a Harry Potter fan then I would definitely look up the Harry Potter Studio tour - it's amazing.
