First-time deluxers just back from Poly & YC!

I must say I feel we've set a high standard for future trips!

We loved being on the monorail line, and on crescent bay. We hardly used buses at all during our 7 night split stay.

We stayed in Fiji 3rd floor at the Poly, as requested. It was an awesome room with a nice view of the Luau Cove area, and of the GH wedding chapel. I loved this location! Close to GCH and the volcano pool, but not too busy at all. The proximity was great because it rained while we were there!

At the YC, we forgot to call ahead (were already in disney) and got "so so" room locations. Our room overlooked the main entrance, and my sister's room overlooked some sort of swampy area with a dirty towel in the trees.

She tried to move, and the CM basically told her that if you don't fax in your request, you're treated like a "walk in."

I'd love to answer any questions about either resort!

That was strange! Interesting things you hear out of CM's mouths nowadays. I've also heard CM say that there are SO MANY faxes now that they end up in the circular file.

Is Figi non-smoking?We just got home and we were in Tokelau as requested but yesterday morning my DM and I walked over to that area and I loved it!I said next time I thought we would request 3rd floor in Figi as long as it was non-smoking and not concierge.It just seemed like a nice location.Quiet yet close to everything!

It's non-smoking and recently renovated. I absolutely loved the location. I had debated for months between Tokelau, Nuie and Fiji, and was glad I ultimately decided upon Fiji.

Just wanted to say that we stayed in a Fiji 3rd floor room last week and it was great! We must have been on the other side though b/c we saw the CR, Space Mountain,Cindy's castle, the GCH, marina and volcano pool. Great location!!

Just in regards to your experience at the YC, last month we stayed there too, arriving after a 7 day cruise. I did not fax in any sort of requests; other than requesting a non-smoking room with our original reservation for a standard room. When we checked in the CM upgraded us to a waterview room (Room 2007), overlooking the lake and the Boardwalk. I did not ask her what was available or anything, she just did it on her own accord. What does this all mean? I guess it's luck of the draw on the CM that you get, and not all walk ins are treated the same.
