First time buyer

WDW loves making everything impossible to compare apples to apples.

One thing I want to point out as well is in 2042 when BWV expires its going to be a lot more likely to buy a new contract.

I really think RIV is going to be a deal in 20 years time if you like staying in the Epcot/HS area.

Point charts at a new BWV/BCV are not only going to be higher but pricing will likely outpace inflation as well and be more expensive relative to today.

I know the price difference today and to me it's not that big of a difference especially when considering the direct benefits on the AP discount. I am betting on the historicals of DVC outpacing inflation and point charts continue to climb so that in 2042 BWV 2.0 will be much more expensive than RIV as move towards retirement and glad I am saving money annually.

I don't think you can go wrong with 200 points direct at riviera. As long as you know about the resale restrictions may have an effect on the resale value if you ever decide to sell. I would buy 2 contracts in case I wanted to sell one or both in the future. I also believe that you will need to own there to book a standard studio most of the year. I think it's a good strategy to start off direct with no restrictions you can always add direct or resale later. $175 is not a bad price and you i think should end up with 400 points to start off with. And the Riviera is an amazing resort, we stayed for 3 nights and loved everything about it.
