First Souvenier from Disney that you can remember?

I remember getting that "Walk the Invisible Dog" from the magic shop. Must have been 1975 or so. I also remember buying a stuffed animal "Thumper" from the Trading Post at Fort Wilderness around the same time.

Feeling happy and old!!

from the 70's

a purse made of brown "leather" with mickey and minnie beaded onto the front flap. ( still have it)

also a patch embroidered with my name and mickey on the side. I still have that and it is still in the box that it came in!

A stuffed Mickey and a mickey tshirt... I loved them so much and they are long gone. I especially regret getting rid of the stuffed Mickey. I know that it was falling apart... but when I went back as a teenager to get a new one - the deign had changed.

Mine was a drink holder in the shape of an orange with a green straw, does anyone remember these? It was back in the 70's at The Sunshine Tree Terrace.

Yes! That is the first sovenir I can remember as well... Back in the day of "The Florida Orange Bird" character as well. It's making a come-back on T-shirts at EPCOT. So nostalgic!

My first and best was a map of Disneyland that I got as a child back in 1971. The map was almost the size of a full size road map, and of course had hand drawn anamation. The smaller computer drawn maps that we have today, really aren't very good. That map was on my bedroom wall for years and I use to stare at it planning our next trip to DL which came 39 years later when I had children.

Belive it or not mine was an awesome Frankenstein mask bought on Main st...The House of Magic...1976(obviously pre-Universal)...Man those were the days, the invisible dog leashes were all the rage, also the foamy realistic rocks, also at The House of Magic.....I still remember WDW used to have these white wax paper bags, with WDW on them...they even had an awesome scent to them...wish I could go back in time for a weekend

Mine was not something we bought. It was a brochure for Epcot that had a wheel on it.

In my teenage years I went through and threw out all of that sort of stuff :sad2: :headache: I really wish I had it now.

My first souvenier was a waterglobe with Cinderellas Castle in it. It played "When You Wish Upon a Star" It was special because my husband bought it for me on our honeymoon trip. I can remember it cost around $100 dollars which was an huge amount of money for us back then. I cried like a baby when it got knocked off a table and broke a few years ago. :sad1:

My first trip was in 1985 and I got a stuffed Figment that I took everywhere I went for a long time. I can still remember leaving it at a restaurant and being so upset, but my parents rescued him and I still have him! He's not furry, and I think he's cuter than the Figments my kids have collected over the years.

I remember getting gold doubloons from the Pirates shop back in 1976. There were really made of metal.

I also have a Big Al bear from 1976 also. That I still own.

I remember those coins from Pirates! It was probably 1989 for me, and my sister and I bought a whole bunch of them. They were modeled off of real coins, and had copy stamped on them in tiny letters. lol

I have all the basic Disney character PVC figures and the Orange Bird...what was his name?? LOVED playing with them as a kid and now I passed them down to my girls and they love playing with them too! Can't wait to go back and get updated ones ;)

1983..Mine was an invisible dog..dont know why i wanted that but thats what i got..it was just a hard leash and collar LOL

My mom took us when we were little - I think the first time I was 6 or 7, and I got an inflatable Minnie Mouse pillow. It had that vinyl shower curtain smell to it. Even now that smell smells like Florida to me.

My first trip wasn't until I was 28 when we took my daughter when she was three. That's when I got my first Disney ornament. Each time we go now I always get a new ornament for our tree.

My first was a wooden toy gun from POC, which I still have 30 plus years later. On my son's first visit I made sure we went to POC, and bought him one also. He was so excited, so was I.:yay:

A Minnie Ears headband-- black ears and the classic red and white bow.
