:cool1:Woo Hoo! Just booked my first solo trip October 2-9 and I can't wait.

I have a few questions that I am sure that you guys can answer.

Because I'm by myself, I would like to check out things that I've never done (eg resort hopping, tours). So my questions are:

Other than buses, what other ways can I get to the resorts? ( I know there are water taxies, but don't know where they leave from or where they go to.)

Are there any events at the resorts that are awesome to see? (eg Wilderness lodge's geyser)

It's also my first time using the QS dining plan so what are the best things to eat on the plan. I heard Wolfgang Puck's is awesome and I know I am going to have to try my first Dole Whip!!

Thanks for all our information on the boards! My first solo trip is kinda scary for me but the advice given to other people has sure made me feel great about it.

Thanks again!

I had several solo trips and enjoyed them enormously. I also liked visiting the resorts. I went pool hopping one day and poked around several resorts. At the time it was encouraged at all except Beach Club. I was staying at OKW. Mono rail will get you to three resorts, The Epcot resorts are an easy walk from Epcot. Be sure to check out the Swan and Dolphin. I drive down so I usually drove to most resorts.
I loved Earl of Sandwich. One thing about being solo is you can eat when and where you please. I used to get a sandwich t the Earl and cary it with me to Fantasmic to eat while I was waiting for the show. I use to also take a sandwich to AK as there are many nice spots to eat in the shade.
Plan ahead what you want to see. You are on your own time table so you can rest when you want and do what ever you feel like. I know you will have a wonderful time.

Thanks for the response! I can't wait to try the Earl of Sandwich, the menu looks delicious! thanks again

i like going down the walking trails at ak and looking at the macaws. i have a military macaw which you can see walking through the left side of the oasis

congrats on your solo!! I did my first in may and I'm already planning next year's trips! as for transportation....

beach and yacht clubs, boardwalk, swan and dolphin can be walked to from epcot and you can take boats from hollywood studios

port orleans fq and riverside, saratoga springs, and old key west can be reached by boat from dtd

wilderness lodge, poly, gf, contemporary, and fort wilderness can be reached from mk by boat

poly, gf, and contemp can be reached by monorail from epcot and mk

for me, must see resorts are animal kingdom lodge, poly, grand floridian, and boardwalk...lots of stuff to do at all; definitely try jelly rolls for a night out at boardwalk, have a drink at narcoossee's and watch wishes or the water pageant, and go watch some animals at akl. french quarter is also a really great resort, and scat cat's lounge is really fun when there is a band there.

best thing about a solo is you can do whatever you want!! and eat whatever you want!! my best cs dining has been: columbia harbour house (MK), yorkshire fish, tangierine cafe, and sunshine seasons (ep), yak n yeti (ak), and pizza planet (hs)....plus, remember you can eat at any resort food court or cs option! snacks....hafta hit starring rolls cafe, get a dole whip, and my new favorite is the cloudberry horns from norway in epcot!!!

have fun!

Wolfgang express is awesome! Hard to believe its CS. I like the fish stand in DTD. Resort hopping is fun. I like to take a little nap at the Poly in the reception area listening to the waterfall. At sunset I like to sit on the lounge chairs at the beach and then watch the fireworks. Fort wilderness and AKL is also nice to hang out at. The boat rides are also relaxing and you can see a lot. Enjoy.

Dole Whip!:yay:

Love the breakfast at Crystal Palace!

Yay for your solo trip! I loved mine in March 09 and never looked back. (but it's nice to have meets).

There's also night vision to watch the animals at AKL and just to check out the hotels themselves.

There is a good thread on the transportation board to get around and of cours,e there are good ol' taxis. :goodvibes
