So, on my trip in August I'm flying in late Thursday night. I'm planning on spending the night at MCO, then cabbing it to RPR (whre I'm spending the next four nights) Friday morning. As such, I've accepted that I am going to be starting my day at UO rather than IOA, as I'll probably reach the parks when they open.
Would there be any point in staying at an offsite hotel Thursday night? I'm thinking that it would be within the realm of possibilty that I might get to RPR a little earlier that way.
Any experience? I did the MCO/airport hotel/early hotel check in in July of 08, and I was fine, but WWOHP throws things off a bit.

We are checking into PBH on July 24, probably arriving around lunch. If I can convince DH to take the 23rd off from work, we might drive straight through and get to Orlando Friday night. Does anyone know of a reasonable hotel near Universal to stay that night? We might not even make it that far, so we would be wandering in off the street with no reservation (which is why I don't want to add another PBH night - in case we don't get that far). We probably will have to sto on the way Friday night, but I'd like to have a few possibilities in case the stars align for an earlier arrival.
and stayed at the Days Inn because it was not that expensive....never never never do that
