If you are person 50 in line and the kid in front of you is playing a game when the line moves leaving a small space for 60 seconds and you wait til they are done you are still person 50 in line. You still have to wait for 49 people in front of you to get on first regardless of whether they continued to finish the game after the line moved. This does not affect your wait time in line. You were not "held up" in the line.
If, however, you move past the kid, and likely a mom and dad and a sibling, you have now moved up to person 46. You filled a gap in line that would have been filled shortly without delaying ANYONE behind them from getting on any sooner. In doing so you delay the family from getting on when they should have in spots 46-49. How is this NOT cutting line?
