First haircut

I just realized the other day that I can probably hold out and get DD's first haircut on Main Street when we go in 2010. At that point I probably will chicken out but if I can go through with it, that would be so cool for in her baby book. Okay, just had to share my excitement. I'm done now.

We did this for ds1 it was AWESOME!!!!!! They even sprinkled pixie dust on him, it wasn't much more than a reg haircut (ok maybe it was more but it was disney ) They even give you mickey ears that say first haircut in case they screw it up DS didn't have to wear his!!!

My son (2) and daughter (4) both got their first haircuts when we were there in May. It was the highlight of our trip. They give you a certificate and they wore the ears the whole trip.

My son was 18 months old when he got his first "trim" on Main Street! it was really cute and he got the First Haircut ears which was nice and a first haircut certificate! Definitely worth the $14 they charged! You won't chicken out, they are so nice there you will know your child's hair is in good hands!

we were there in December and had my son (13 months) get his first haicut on Main Street! They were great! I was a bit worried too but the barber was patient and they knew what they were doing. They give you a lock of hair, a certificate and first haircut ears. Well worth the wait in line...get there as early as possible. There is not too much for a one year old to do that is special at Disney so this was a must do for my sons Magical Memory book! You will NOT be disappointed...trust me. The pictures we took are priceless!

Can you make reservations, or is it just first come? My DD5 has long hair that she can now sit on, and has never had her hair cut. She just told my DH that she wants her first haircut to be in Disney .

They don't take reservations. I believe it's open 9-5. It's a small place (2 chairs) so it may take a while depending on what those ahead of you are having done. We waited about 15-20 minutes, but most of the people ahead of us were just getting the color/confetti and not a haircut. Some have posted waiting an hour or more.

Our son had his first haircut there and it was very cool. He really needs a cut right now BAD but we are holding out the 17 more days so he can get another hircut on Main St.

We did our son's first haircut 30 mins before the barber shop closed. Anyone inside the door was able to have their haircut. My DD 7, decided she wanted her bangs cut & afterwards they 'sprinkled' her hair with pixie dust! She was so happy.

Do people go there just to have their kids' haircut (just a regular cut, not the first cut)? My son absolutely hates having his hair cut, so I thought maybe he might like having it cut at Disney. He's 2 and screams bloody murder when the barber touches his hair. Is it worth trying at Disney?

We were there in Nov. and got my youngest ds his first haircut and my other two boys also got haircuts. Along with a cut the boys can also get their hair spiked up and painted. My 6 yo loved it and they were great haircuts.
