First FP return time of day?

Does anyone know off hand what the first FP return time of the day is? I feel like if you are at the machine when it opens at 8 am - it is for 8:25 or 8:35? Trying to see if it makes sense to wait half way in RSR FP line while DH is first in line for some other FP and then he brings me the tickets. Only hiccup is if it's later than 8:30 - makes it hard to place me in line and might give us a return time long after DD4 is asleep in the stroller.

Any suggestions?

Hmmm, sounds like an interesting strategy, but I don't think it'll work unless you get the timing just right. The first FP return time is 8:40-9:40. So if you wanted to make this work, I would jump in the RSR line around 8:15/8:20 just to be safe. But failing to line up at the perfect second could jeopardize the whole plan. By that time you'll probably wait 25-30 min for a FP, and the line will be down by the Animation Building. The thing is, though, you'll have wasted 40 min of precious morning touring hours and you'll end up with 0 rides done and 2 FP in your hand, which isn't terrible, but for some people they'd rather be doing the rides. Also, if you get in line around then you'll probably have an early evening return time, just based on the reports we've seen so far.

I thought it might be a little aggressive. Thanks for the input!

Well I've been thinking of different scenarios after you suggested this plan...and I might just try it and steal your idea for an upcoming trip in a couple weeks. Here's what I'm thinking though:

-Get to DCA around 7:30-7:45
-Get the first Soarin FPs (with a return time of 8:40-9:40)
-Get WoC FPs
-Head down to Toy Story, which should only have a 10-15 min wait? :confused3
-Get a Screamin FP, assuming that it's still disconnected
-Run back to the RSR FP line and hopefully get in before 8:30 to have a shot for FPs.

Then by 9:00, I'll have 3 sets of FP (+ WoC) and have TSMM under my belt. Of course it all depends on good timing. I'll also be going on a Saturday, which appears to have slightly smaller crowds recently (*crossing fingers).
:goodvibes

DLR29 -- are you going to try this soon? I'd like to hear how it goes. Seems like an interesting strategy. I just wonder how late one can line up for FP and still hope to get one (and have it be before 10pm -- not sure DD would last until midnight).

What about the issue of you already having a Soaring FP? Since it's for 8:40, you'd be unable to get your cars FP until after 8:40, right. With them mostly being gone shortly after 9 I guess that would work.

I'd love to hear what the Toy Story line is like in the morning. Would be fun to just go ride that a few times without a huge wait, if possible.

I'll hopefully try this in the next couple weeks. Either the second or third Sat in July. I know I'll have a Soarin FP, but I figure that with the wait to actually get a FP, it'll be 8:40 (or later) by the time I actually get to the RSR FP machines. I'm also interested to see what the TSMM line is like in the early morning.

I had been thinking of something almost exactly like that for our August visit, so please let us know how it goes, if you try it. We'll have 3-day hoppers, and start in DL on one, CA on the other, so I thought I would try this on the first CA day. That way if it didn't work, we could just skip RSR that day, and make it a priority on the 3rd day.

The part that makes me most nervous for this is we just have the one day at DCA this trip. I'm really hopeful that using AP EE I will ride RSR first, but with the constant breakdowns - I know that might not actually happen. Thinking during AP EE we ride LT first, and if RSR is running, head there next. If not hit Mater's. So if we do get on RSR, I will try this b/c it won't devastate the kids if it doesn't work. But if we haven't ridden RSR during EE, then that FP is priority #1.

If someone is able to try this before me - I eagerly anticipate hearing how it plays out :)

I vote for DLR29 to test this out on the 2nd too :) Looking forward to your report back.
