Popping in to say Hi.

Went to the mall yesterday looking for a couple of pairs of shorts. I couldn't believe how many stores did not have any shorts out for woman. The men's, boys and girls departmants all had plenty but none for women. What's up with that? I fianally found 2 pair at American Eagle. I never go in there but saw some as I was walking by and said what the heck. I then found another pair at JCPenney. I have a very hard time finding shorts that are actually.....well.....short. Because I am only a little over 5 feet tall, all of the shorts in the misses and even the petite dept come down over my knees and make me look dowdy. The only way that I can find a pair of shorts that are the correct length is to shop in juniors. The only problem with this is I don't have a junior body. I need a size 13 or 15 to fit my hips. :rotfl: I also need to make sure they are not too short. I got lucky yesterday cause all of the shorts I bought fit great. So I am a happy camper. WooHoo :woohoo: more clothes for WDW and the cruise.

As for swimsuits, I try very hard to look for them when I don't need a new one. I found one last year that I haven't worn yet. I will be bringing that one plus 2 others that aren't new.

Well, I was right about the trauma. Practically nothing from last year fits. Tears were had. I had lost almost 90lbs 6 years ago. Then I gained back 50lbs. And I lost the 50lbs when I was sick. Well, it is all back again. I know I can't lose it all before the cruise (wouldn't that be nice if I could) but I guess it's back to being super point conscious. I guess I need to go back to WW. That's how I lost the 90lbs. Its just so frustrating and I am such a bad eater. I have texture issues when I eat. The texture of most fruits and veggies just make me gag. I have such a weird gag reflex. I know it is mostly psychological, but at 50 y.o. I think I will just have to live with it at this point. Thank you for letting me vent.

Kim

Aww Kim, from one ex WW to another - I completely understand! Try not to stress over it and just think about the beautiful blue water, warm weather, and lots of fun that will be had on the cruise. *hugs*

I can't wait. :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Jennie and I just got home from shopping. We managed to pick up a few things. ;) Thanks to whomever posted the JC Penney bathing suits link. I found some really cute ones for DD. :thumbsup2

Yes, thank you from me too. I got two really cute bathing suit tops today. Well, I actually got 3 but I am going to have to return one. They really had a great selection at JCPenney.

I think more summer clothes will be out in a few weeks, hopefully! I would think with spring break in full mode, there would be tons of items out there. I need another bathing suit and I am having terrible luck finding one. It doesn't help that I am so self concious about how I look anyways, haha! I only wear jeans and cringing at the thought of wearing shorts in public. We'll see what I'll find later.

JCPenny's, thanks for the tip!

Afternoon, all!

Jumping in with a husband story.

I got married young... had a couple kids (8 years apart) but when my daughter was 2, I realized I wasn't happy and had not been happy for a while. We had a lot of trouble having my now 12 year old... 4 years of fertility treatments and many miscarriages. We quit trying because I knew our marriage was in trouble and that was when I got pregnant with her. I hated feeling like I was all alone even when my then husband was in the room with me.

So..... we divorced. I LOVED being single and I LOVED being a single mom. LOVED IT! I had so much fun on the weekends my kids were with their dad... SO MUCH FUN! :drinking1

Then I met my hubby. I wasn't ready for a "real" relationship because I was having so much fun... but he swept me off my feet. We dated for two years and have been married for just over 5. I am crazy about him... we have so little in common but it works for us. He likes the White Sox, I love the Cubs... he loves to start big projects at night, I like to start them in the mornings... he hates TV, I love reality TV... he HATES Disney, I LOVE Disney.... but it works for us. He takes us to Disney and smiles the entire time and even acts like he enjoys it... and I dress the kids in Sox t-shirts in the summer.

And not a day goes by that he doesn't tell me that I am the most beautiful woman he has ever seen and that he loves me more than a fat kid loves cake.

As for my ex... he is one of my best friends. His wife and I and my husband and my ex husband get along great. As a matter of fact, my ex hubby and my now hubby want to do the Amazing Race together. :)

Anywho... just wanted to chime in... :) My oldest son is home from College for Spring break and he is talking my ear off.

Val & I are very much opposites that complement each other.

On line I'm the one that posts, but when you meet us on the cruise it will be Val that does all the talking.

I'm from the northeast, and thus a "yankee" (no, not the baseball team - that's another story), Val is from the deep south and is a Daughter of the Confederacy. That whirring sound you hear is her ancestors turning over in their graves.

I was single all my life until we met only 15 years ago, Val had been married for ~30 years at that point.

Before we met, Val had been to WDW once - but that's actually where we met. Now, we both share a love of Disney. I'm probably more into the Disney history than Val, but we both enjoy doing the parks.

OK, I'm finally posting a photo of the dress I bought and will be wearing on the cruise. The tailor who hemmed it for me did a great job.

And here is the bathing suit I got last year and haven't worn yet. It will be worn on this cruise. Unfortunately the fabric doesn't photograph very well.

Thanks for sharing that story. It's kind of funny, but my dad makes reference to the Yankee versus confederate all the time; especially during sporting events; when 2 teams play; one from the south and one from the north. It's almost like he still thinks the war is going on. :rolleyes1

I love how Tracy swoops in, bestows us with her knowledge, and swoops back out again. :thumbsup2

Just making sure no misinformation is out there :goodvibes :goodvibes

Time to quit working and go outside to grill dinner :thumbsup2 Finally have decently weather!!!!

...and "Disney Dream Weddings" on WE network at 8:00. (I watched this earlier today. It's a new one with designer/stylist David Tutera. Pretty amazing what they put into some of these weddings. Lots of good stuff about the cakes, the Disney Florist, etc. Interesting.)
