Myself and my 2 teen-agers are flying in from the west coast and will arrive at 5am :( I have requested an early check-in but probably won't get one that early I am thinking!! So thought since HS has EMH we could hit that park (3 of my kid's favorite rides are there) and then when we get the room ready text go back to Pop for a rest before tackling MK for the evening and it's even open late that night (but will probably crash early).

What advice to you pro's have?? We are there 10 days so no rush to do everything quickly but we are huge Disneyland fans and are use to going all day long when we visit the California parks.

:thanks:

If you're there for 10 days I would probably just relax poolside and wait for the room to be ready the day you arrive, but that's just me. I know I have trouble sleeping, even on red-eyes. I would nap, swim, and just chill. Then, once the room is ready, I would change and go to a park that evening if you're up to it. There's no rush and you have a packed 10 days ahead of you, so take it slow! No sense in wearing yourself out before you really even start!

We've flown red-eye from the West Coast quite a few times. For the plane flight, take ear plugs, eye mask, and maybe Benadryl if you want to sleep during the 5 hour flight.

We have hit the ground running and take a break later in the afternoon. With the time difference, it is easy to stay out late on that first night and especially if you napped during the afternoon.

You may want to try waking up earlier prior to your trip to help with the jet lag. We are always up at 4:30 to make it to the gym so a 7:00am morning at WDW isn't that huge for us.

Do you land at 5 or anticipate getting to the resort at that time? When we figured we would arrive at POR at 2am we chose to reserve the room from the day before. That way the room was there waiting for us with no need to wait for a place to nap.

That gets a little dicey as late as you are arriving; some feel that they will cancel the whole reservation if you aren't there by 6 when the hotel calendar clicks over to the next day. I would do it if we chose a redeye, and would be in communication with wdw.

Apart from that I've got nothing. My family would be nearly dead with that flight. It takes an act of congress for me to sleep on a plane and my son makes us miserable if he's awoken on a flight.
