Yep and it was a great show and night!
That song will always remind me of my middle DS's younger days. Glad you had a lot of fun.

lol I read that quickly and thought it said it reminded you of your middle school days. I think my oldest was in middle school when that song came out! You made me feel really old! lol

I've never heard that song, it's fantastic!! So how about a few details about the date? Did you talk easily? Do you have butterflies in your stomach?

That song came out the year I graduated.![]()
Its hard to be grumpy and listen to that song, right?
He's not my usual type - he played college baseball and is much more muscled, than my preference of tall and thin, but he's super tall. My girlfriends thought he was very cute because of that - I just dig a thinner body type - like those svelte guys who can rock a really slim line suit and no socks. He's educated and well spoken. He's very easy to talk to, a food snob, in a risk type job as well, but totally different risk. Funny, tattooed and I liked the way he dressed. No kids and divorced, just like me. Obviously, same taste in music. Exact same politics, similar religion, also a traveler, seems to have similar lifestyle. It was incredibly promising actually and we've been in pretty constant communication since. Going out again this weekend. I reserve butterflies for 3rd dates...lol!
Bonus points - I got bumped decently hard during the show (accident, no big deal), but he totally had me, and he Ubered. I know that's a weird bonus point, but I think its responsible when there will be drinking involved and shows good judgment on the front end.
Thanks for asking!

I will say I have found the one who ended up being the best fit wasn't my "type" body wise but was my type mental wise. The body changes and will never be the same so that's the one thing I let go of since there was no guarentee it would be the same 15 years from now but hopefully the funny smart Disney lover part of mine guy doesn't change too much.
Hoping I'll "the one" if I'm less rigid on some things. I've had the exact thing - twice, obviously that didn't work out!And that's why I'm not looking for just thatHoping I'll "the one" if I'm less rigid on some things. I've had the exact thing - twice, obviously that didn't work out!
wow, sounds like a really great match!! I'm excited for you! Have to ask, just tell me to mind my business if you want to, but did you kiss goodnight? I'm 49, married forever and a day, so I don't know, is that still how dates go?
Thanks for the good thoughts, I'll take all I can get.I just always find it funny as girls we always talk about how they weren't really our type. The girls my age who are still single are the ones who won't compromise on any portions of their type. It is infuriating to me when they lament about how they are still single and then I ask what's stopping them and their list literately probably fits 2 people in the entire world haha. I had one friend who refused just out right refused to date anyone who had children. It didn't matter if he was actively involved in his childrens' life and had a very nice ex they just said they didn't want to deal with someone else's kids or a guy who couldn't keep it in his pants. I was shocked because in our area (south Texas) there were a lot of guys who made mistakes as teenagers and to me if he was still involved and active in his child's life that he had at 16 it spoke volumes to his character even if he wasn't with the mom 10 years later. Of course multiple baby mamas is different then one or two kids from the same woman and just deciding it wasn't going to work when you got to 28 is very different to me.
OMG, I see this from girlfriends my age who want kids, who have never been married, and it makes me nutty. I've been married to "perfect" and he was an abusive, horrible man dressed up in educated, progressive, hipster clothes. I'm happy to adapt to find someone truly lovely. Hopefully, ya'll's good luck will work out for me this summer. I have 2 girlfriends, just a bit older than me - late 30s, 40s - who want kids, but only with someone who's never been married, no kids, educated, Catholic and a bunch of other stuff I'd never look for. I'd for them to broaden their horizons and hopefully find someone who could be their prince.
Hoping for luck for you too. I'll admit it isn't a perfect fairy tale (which I imagine is what most women want) but it is worth working through the minor bumps for all the amazing good that is there. Now let's hope it lasts as I do hope for this whole wedding thing to be a one and done haha. To stressful of a process to ever go through again. The funnest part of us is that we are from completely different backgrounds. I grew up on a farm in Texas and was a member of FFA showed cattle, rode horses, etc, he's from a good family from south Florida. We joke he found himself a "goya/shiksa" so I'll do all the things he doesn't feel comfortable doing or would usually pay someone to do.
I'm pretty impressed with your mad real world skills!Found this thread late, but glad to hear it went well!
- Revised going out again Tuesday. And here's the song if anyone is curious. Love that song and I'm so old!!!
