DS turns one today!!

Happy Birthday! Can't believe our little guy is one already! Forgot to mention from day #3. Captain Bob knocked on the door and delivered a signed photo card from Mickey and Minnie wishing our son a Happy Birthday. There were 3 balloons attached too. It was such a nice touch. We took a few pictures with Captain Bob and thanked him and the staff of the YC for remembering our son's birthday.

Now, we're off to the MK to have a birthday breakfast with Pooh and friends! We catch the bus and enter the MK. We go to Town Hall and get the "Today's my birthday button". Unfortunately, a sharp pin is not a good idea with a one year old. We leave it on for a while, but it becomes evident that he will not stop playing with it so we attach it to his diaper bag. We then head over to the Crystal Palace and are seated within 5 minutes. We bearly get seated when the waitress brings over a cupcake with a candle and the characters come dancing around the tables doing a napkin dance with Pooh. We try to get the video and camera going all the while keeping our son's hands out of the burning candle!! Then, we sing to our little guy and I go off to get him and me some breakfast. Then it's DH's turn. While he's gone, Eeyore comes by. I barely turn the video on, he waves and then goes on to the next table. He barely gave my son a passing glance. I thought that he'd return later, but he never did. Thankfully, Tigger and Piglet at least posed for a picture and pointed that they saw the baby's birthday card. We ate and then got in line for Pooh. The baby loved the characters again! I highly recommend character meals for the little ones. Although, I think the resort characters give you a bit more time. We felt very rushed at the Crystal Palace. We've eaten there before and loved the food and characters, however, being our son's first birthday, we were rushed and didn't feel we had good character interaction at all.

We hit Fantasyland for a while and then decide that it's getting hot and we go back to SAB. We enjoy a leisurely hour or so at the pool and then it's naptime! The baby sleeps for 3 hours! We decide a nice walk to Epcot for the evening is in order. We loved being able to walk over to Epcot. We decided to hit Future World for a bit since it closed at 7pm. We went into Spaceship Earth, then through some of the attractions at the exit. We walked through Mousegears and spent more $$. Then we hit the Baby Station. It was a lot harder to find the baby station in this park. It's really tucked out of the way. But, the inside was clean and it was a nice break to change and feed the baby. Now, we hit the countries. We went into the Mexican Pavillion and rode El Rio de Tiempo. The baby loved it! He bounced up and down the whole time! I decided I wanted a bit of Mexican food, so I hit the fast food counter and 30 minutes later, I open my meal and it's the wrong thing. There's no way I'm getting back into line, so we keep walking around WS. We grab some food from the food and wine festival booths. We make it to the American Adventure and decide to eat there. I change the baby into his warm pj's b/c it's getting a bit cold out. He snuggles down to sleep in the stroller and DH and I have a nice conversation with a CM about the 13 colony flags displayed. My DH asks her about them and she says that she doesn't usually work in there, but her friend gave her a paper with information about the flags just in case. It was 15 minutes until closing and she hadn't even looked at the paper all day. She thought it was funny that he should ask her and we all sat down and read the information about the flags.

Illuminations was about to begin, so we walked to the bridge by the International Gateway to watch. We didn't want the fireworks to wake the baby. He slept right through and we walked back to the YC, of course, stopping at B &C along the way!

A very happy first birthday and another magical day at Disney!
