Day 6:

This was our actual anniversary day...one year! NJ kept saying the trial period was over and I'm stuck with him for good....both of us knowing the trial period ended long ago.

This day was devoted to Epcot and was probably the most relaxed and enjoyable of the whole trip. My parents had ordered us t-shirts that had mickey and the gang on them and said "our first anniversary...walt disney world...april 27, 2003." We both wore them and got so many wishes of happy anniversary. Nowhere on earth could I get NJ, a big manly man by the way, to be so cute and cheesey. The camera people that get you at the front of the park saw our t-shirts and offered to snap some pictures with our camera so we didn't have to pay for it.

We strolled future world and headed to Rose and Crown for lunch. NJ had lived in England for almost a year and got a kick out of seeing the pavillion. After lunch we headed back to future world and went through imagination, sea, and then headed to land for the ice cream social, at which we were supposed to do the rehitching. I wanted it to be a surprise for NJ, so when we checked in I tried to discretely remind them about it, and the hostess said no problem. She even wrote it on our little check in card, which was left at our table for our server...so I didn't feel the need to remind the server herself. Bad move, because she completely dropped the ball on the rehitching. I kept waiting for something to happen, but she brought the bill and nothing. Then I figured we'd just not pay and surely they'd remember. Well, then she comes by to collect money and finally I give up. I weighed my options...do I make an issue out of it and tell her we wanted to do the rehitching, thereby spoiling the surprise. Or do I just let it go. While I was debating NJ kept going on about how great the ice cream social was and how fun the characters were and he was getting a kick out of the whole thing. I decided to just leave it at that and not worry about rehitching....still a disappointment, but we had a great time anyway. Even without the rehitiching, the ice cream social was both of our favorite that day.

We toured the innoventions and made the mistake of going in the house of tomorrow and dream home theater sections....we really want a home theater, and boy is it going to be costly.

Then we went along to the world showcase, started at Mexico and walked the circle until we reached Canada, where we had dinner PS at Le Cellier. Mostly we just soaked in the themes in the pavilions, but NJ had norweigian heritage that his father is very proud of. So we spent a bit longer there, did Maelstrom, and bought mothers and fathers day gifts for his parents there. We ended up at Le Cellier right about time and luckily had the PS because they were taking no walk ups. We had honeymooned in Canada, which is why we chose Le Cellier for our anniversary dinner. Our seater got a big kick out of honeymooning in Canada, of course being from there she wouldn't see anything special about it. Let me tell you, we are not beach people, so the Canadian Rockies was perfect to us. It was also a bit ironic though that Le Cellier was better than any restaurant we ate at actually in Canada! It was by far the best meal of our trip...both of us had caesar salad, filet (mine of the mushroom variety) that was exquisite!

Then we stepped outside with perfect timing for illuminations. NJ, who I learned that very moment was not a big fan of fireworks (good thing I made such a big deal out of California Grill for the fireworks view), could not get over how cool the show was. We agreed that we've seen many a jumbotron, but never one that was spherical and opened up to shoot fireworks!! Just amazing.

After that we called it an anniversary and headed back to music. We had originally planned to spend the next day, our last full day, park hopping to catch the stuff we missed. But by the end of this day, we decided to take it easy and do disneyquest the next day. Sure we would miss splash mountain, rnr, fantasmic, but who the hell cared?!

May 27th......hahaha.....Our favorite meal in Epcot has been the Le Cellier and the prime rib.....it was fantastic ....almost as good as that Pretzel bread .....hahaha.......thanks so much for your great report ..it is nice to celebrate your anniversary with you

A nice day the two of you had and having dinner at Le Cellier - what a way to end it - thanks for posting!
