Day 3:

Today was MGM, which had been my favorite park when I was there before. NJ and I are both major movie buffs, so I knew he'd like it too.

At this park, I knew going in that I'd want to do the rnr and tot, neither of which I'd done before. I think the tot had just opened when I was there last, but I just never got to it. I also knew I wanted to see Fantasmic...I have a thing for sorceror mickey, so what could be better? But again, we really wanted to just stroll and not worry about a plan.

We had a PS for dinner at sci-fi, but when I last looked at their menu online, it looked like a bunch of stuff we wouldn't really like for dinner, while the burgers and things that we would want were strictly for lunch. We made the decision to just go there for lunch and skip the dinner. We got a tot pastpass first and then pretty much went right to lunch...yes, another late morning. Can you tell we're not morning people, and really not let's cram everything we can into our vacation people?! Sure enough, we both got burgers and they were good (still not Red Robin, but what can I say, Red Robin doesn't offer the atmosphere, so it's well worth it).

Again, I don't known when we did what, but I know at some point this day we had fast passes for tot, rnr, and indiana jones. We used the tot one (after a bad experience on another one of these drop rides I had been dreading this one and just didn't find it bad at all..in fact it was probably my favorite thing we did all day) and forfeited the rnr and indiana jones. We did also make it to the backlot tour, the magic of animation (NJ's favorite thing we did today), star tours. We started to sit for the parade but got bored before the thing ever started and I think that's when we ended up at the animation tour. Now we can't wait to go see the bear movie they're working on right now...supposed to open in November.

At some point, we decided that we were ready to be out of the park. I think this was several hours before our fast pass was due at rnr and also long before we would want to line up for fantasmic. We decided, as was our excuse several times this trip, we'd come back for those things another day and we headed for the boat to boardwalk. I don't think boardwalk existed when I was here last, and if it did I know I didn't go there. We had dinner at the brewpub, and it was very good. I don't remember what beer NJ tried first, but his second glass was the red and he couldn't stop raving! I truly believe that this whole brewpub phenomenon of the past several years is just one of the most wonderful things to hit in decades. I love the idea of beer tasting...why should that kind of thing be left to prissy wine people?! No offense. :) Anyway, we enjoyed ourselves, took one last stroll along the boardwalk and headed back to MGM, where we caught the bus back to music. We could have gone back in for the 10:00 fantasmic at that point, but we were both just ready to be back. Believe it or not, we actually had an early morning planned for Day 4!

I am always amazed at Tower of Terror.....I get all excited and then .....I am scared to death and then it is over.......I love it.....thanks so much for your report

Love riding ToT - and walking the Boardwalk at night - thanks for posting!

The Animation Tour is one of our favorite attractions though it is often overlooked on these boards. Glad you enjoyed it!
