It was just no fun doing the allie tape this morning and I kept thinking of luvmydogs. Keeping the faith my friend.

Got in jiggle free abs and since my temp job ended yesterday I'm gonna try and get a few things done around the house, like paying the telephone bill before they shut me off!
 
Ok, all!

Las night- I had Allie's new Aerobic Body shaping in the DVD player, my box and weights out and had just turned it on. DH comes flying in the house from Ryan's football practice and starts grunting about how he was taping something........BLAH BLAH BLAH. He ran upstairs and turned on the TV upstairs so I followed him up. It was all about Football and the preseason game that was on. He got my blood pressure up so much until I figured out what he was ranting about that I had no desire to work out anymore. It just ruined my perfectly good mood. I think because I hadn't eaten dinner and it was 8pm that it affected my mood so much. I get like that when my blood sugar is low and I get mad.

So anyway, I had good intentions of working out and I didn't. I just ate instead so I would get rid of that off balance feeling.

Good news though, At WW WI last night, I did manage to loose 3.6 more of the pounds last week that I gained on vacation in July. :cheer2:

I really need to start getting up in the AM to workout. That would solve a lot of problems but its hard to make myself do that again. I know I would feel better.
 

Did a compilation of my fav. moves from Cathe!!! I should not do that as it poops me out!

kim, I hope your health problems get resolved soon. Stay positive and focus on getting better. Allie and Cathe will still be there when you're ready to work out. :grouphug:

I did Step Jump and Pump today with Cathe. About 10 minutes into the workout I noticed my wedding ring was gone; it had slipped off my finger sometime between last night and this morning. I was distracted and thinking about my ring through the rest of the workout. After I finished exercising, I looked all over the house and still haven't found it. Oh I hope it turns up later.
 
Norma, you must be getting thinner including the fingers :rotfl:

Seriously, I hope you find your ring. I know I would miss mine. DH actually let DD play with his ring when she was about two. She took it outside and of course we never found it again. Had to get a new one :confused3

Oh Norma I'm sorry about your ring. Maybe having fresh eyes look for you would help. Let us know how it turns out. Or vacuuming may find it for you that way you know it's in the container. Good luck.


Today I did the Kathy Smith step workout again, and again wow do I sweat. I'm really tired by the end but feel really happy when I've completed it. There should be something coming from netflix today, they can be slow at times.
 
Hi Everyone, I'm finally back :wave2: I left on vacation on August 12th ... spent the weekend in Boston with some girl friends and had a WONDERFUL time. Got home on Sunday the 14th, and had to get ready to spend a couple of days with my Dad and his wife at their "camp" in Ossipee, NH. We left on Tuesday morning and got back home early Friday evening. I didn't get much exercise in while I was away ... a couple of walks with the dog, 27 holes of golf ... and way too much enjoying of vacation food and beverages. BUT as I hesitantly stepped on the scale this Monday morning ... I found that I'd lost 5lbs :banana: I'm sure that the muscle that I've built up since I started FIRMing in March and the fact that TOM was just over had a bit to do with the numbers I saw ... but it sure was a great way to get me re-motivated after vacation.

My first workout was Complete Body Sculpting on Saturday ... and boy was that tough. I took Sunday off, golfed on Monday and tried again last night. MUCH better :banana: Tonight will be Fat Blasting Cardio, unless my new DVD comes in ... I ordered one that has 3 workouts on 1 DVD ... but I can't remember the name.

Norma, I hope you've found your ring by the time you read this.

Good morning firmies!!

Total Sculpt plus abs for me today. It wasn't much of a workout for me. It was way to easy even with heavy weights and lots of jumping. I'm going through all my firm workouts and seeing which ones just don't cut it for me anymore, then I'm gonna have to get rid of them. Lots of Cathe workouts coming. DH said I could buy the whole new series!!!!!!!! :banana: :banana:
 
This morning I ran 4.6 miles. I slowed down my pace a bit and had a nice easy run.

poohsmum, welcome back and congrats on the 5 lb. loss. Sounds like you had a great time. The only Firm DVD that I can think of with 3 workouts on it is the original BSS1 DVD with Body Sculpt, Cardio Sculpt, and Ab Sculpt. Is that the one?

Good news! I found my wedding ring yesterday evening. :banana: But it kept sliding off my finger last night so I finally just took it off. I'm going to wait a couple of days and try it on again. I'm completely baffled as to why my fingers would be getting smaller; I'm not losing weight, just maintaining. If my body wants to release fat why can't it let go of the extra stuff hanging out in my thighs?

My new DVD came today ... Norma you're right, it's the original BSS1. Now to try and figure out how to mix/match these workouts with the 4 that I've got from BSS3 :confused3 I think tonight I'll still do Fat Blasting Cardio ... but I'm going to add Ab Sculpt at the end and see how that works.

Now, here's a question you all might be able to answer for me ... The FIRM is known for their "signature" workouts of Cardio+Sculpt, and then using Cardio and Sculpt workouts as enhancements to keep yourself motivated and fresh. My question is this ... with the 7 workouts that I currently own (3 Cardio+Sculpt, 1 Cardio and 3 Sculpt), how would you rotate the workouts? For example ... would it be ok to use the 3 different Cardio+Sculpt workouts in 3 consecutive days? Or would you mix it up by adding in a Cardio and/or Sculpt in there ... yes I am a bit obsessive :blush:

Norma, also VERY glad to hear that you found your ring ... My rings have been a bit loose this week too, and I don't think that I lost my 5 lbs from my fingers :teeth:
 
Yeah on finding the ring. I was thinking of you today and wondering just that.

poohssmum, here are my thoughts on your rotation question. I think it's OK to do Cardio+Sculpt workouts on consecutive days if (1) you use light weights each day, (2) you use heavy weights 1 day and light weights the next day, OR (3) you use heavy weights for upper body and light weights for lower body one day and switch to heavy weights for lower body and light weights for upper body the next day. I personally wouldn't use Cardio+Sculpt 3 consecutive days; I'd want to change things up a little. Also, I wouldn't use a Sculpt workout (excluding Ab Sculpt) the day after a Cardio+Sculpt, unless I had used light weights for the Cardio+Sculpt. Just remember that any time you lift heavy, your body needs a minimum of 48 hours recovery before you should lift heavy again. I'd suggest a more specific rotation if I knew how many days per week you prefer to workout.

You've got some good advice. When I first started working out with the firm, I did C+S more than anything else and heavied up. It worked wonders for me, but everyone is different. As soon as a part of my body got tired or hurting, that's when I switched to a cardio day.
 
Hi guys took a rest day today as we are headed to the Cape for a night and I couldn't sleep well so I decided to get in an extra hour of sleep when the alarm went off. Another tape is coming from Netflix today so Sat I can really do a couple of good cardio days to ward off any extra calories I put on. See you guys Friday night.
 
Morning FIRMies! Last night I did Fat Blasting Cardio and Ab Sculpt ... I felt GREAT when I got finished. Tonight, I've got a meeting at Church, so I don't think I'll be getting in a workout ... but tomorrow I'm thinking I'll give Cardio Sculpt a go.

Thank you all so much for your rotation advice. Norma, I try to work out 4 - 5 times a week. My usual days for working out are Sun, Tues, Wed, Thrs, Sat. Given your great advice, I think I've got an idea of how to rotate the different workouts. Thanks again!
 
I did core mx on the stability ball today. Legs were tired, so I couldn't get in a hard workout out, but I kept moving.

This will qualify as the most ridiculous post in the history of The FIRM thread, but I'm just really happy to have some positive things happening with my body for a change, I just had to share. Please know that I do realize what a goober I am. :rolleyes:

OK, you may remember in my post the other day, I had mentioned that I've put on 13 pounds in the last month will all the steroid use and my kidneys not funtioning optimally... Well, for the last three days, I've been peeing like a racehorse--honestly, like buckets every 20 minutes, day and night. I had a feeling that it meant that the kidneys were kicking into gear and getting rid of all the excess fluid, but I called my Dr. just to make sure. She said she thinks that's exactly what's happening. So, I get on the scale this morning, and in the last three days I've lost 9.5 pounds--only 3.5 away from my goal weight! I don't look as puffy in my face and my rings fit. I can't tell you how happy (and relieved) I am. Today's a good day! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes
