Firebombings spreading to Belgium and Germany.

The French riots have now spread to 274 towns through out France and firebombings have been reported in Germany and Belgium. This is very bad news. The French need to do more to contain this or they will be surrendering to the thugs.

It started among the Muslim, immigrant population in France, when two youths, who thought that they were being pursued by the police were accidentally electricuted. That incident sparked unrest that had been brewing for a while. An entire population that has never been assimilated into French culture. The unemployment in these neighborhoods is 60% but they have very generous welfare benefits, something that Mitterand felt would insulate him from this kind of thing. He commented on the Rodney King/LA riots years ago, stating it would "never happen in France". My mother always told me, "pride comes before a fall".
