So I finally received a response from Disney about adding more packages for the family of two. Here is my letter:

Walt Disney World was the best honeymoon a couple could dream of. In
August, my husband and myself traveled to Disneyworld to celebrate our
marriage. We choose Disney for many reasons. We are big kids at heart,
we love the magic that Disney offers, and we knew that it would be a
romantic and fun experience to share as we begin our lives together. We
were not disappointed, as we were treated like true Disney royalty from
start to finish. Hopefully, it can become a place we can return to every
couple of years to celebrate our anniversary and, in a few years, have a
family to bring with us. While I know family is the main idea of Disney,
it seems like there is a lot left to be desired when it comes to the
family of two. While we hope one day to have children, right now it is
just the two of us. We consider ourselves a family though. So often, the
packages or special events that are run are for a family of four - but
what about the family of two? Are we not considered a family as well?
Another example is the Mom's Panel. I might not be a mom but I can
surely tell you and give amazing advice about Disney to other couples
and parents who want to get away one night. Perhaps something similar
could be put in place for this market. I think Disney needs to really
tap the market that is the couple who loves Disney; those who have more
money to spend because they DON?T have to pay for two other people. We
love and respect Disney so much and yet always seem to get short shrift
when it comes to specials.

Here was the response:

Did they even read my letter?

This is Disney's typical response. You may hear at a later date from whatever department they decided to send your letter to. But then again, maybe not. . .

That sounds like the standard reply for any question. Thanks for sending in your letter though. I totally agree and would have added - "what about single people". I am so far from being a family of four that it isn't even on the horizon nor on the next hill after that. :goodvibes

It does not seem to be boilerplate or a blow-off to me. It definitely is not usual for them to give a name and contact phone number.

I look at it as a response and a phone number to contact the person who emailed you. All packages are offered at a "lead in" rate. Of course the package is applicibile at an even more reduced rate for a party of 2 vs a party of 4. I would be thrilled to get a contact phone number when inquiring about a situation. That is a true interest in your issue. She didn't blow you off, she offered a way to discuss your ideas in more depth.

I dont understand the complaint. There are no packages or promotions only for 4 people. They give that price/scenario for promotions because thats the average family. All promos can be applied to a party of any size. You can get free dining as a family of 2, you can get 40% off the room, you can get 4/3, you can get anything a family of 4 can get

I totally understand. I too have a family of 2. I always thought it was unfair when they quote a special for a family of 4 and then when I went to the website I would always get a higher price for the same "special" for 2 adults. It didn't happen just once but multiple times over the years. I sent a similar letter and never got a response from them so good for you.

Would you please post the specific address you used for your correspondence. I would like to send them a letter concerning our stay as an adult couple as well.

I've said it over and over.....there needs to be either a hotel dedicated or wings dedicated to adults only. Magic isn't just for children/families and to give a "little" seperation to these groups would not be that big of a deal in addition to the package pricing you mention. I can recall a few years back when the big push was for coming back as adults. They marketed it like crazy!!!!! I love the kids but not all the time and if you want my high amount of disposable income that I am willing to dump at WDW could you do just a *little* to cater to us too????

I agree they could have an adult section at the resorts, but then our biggest problem a few visits ago was an older couple (older than us, and we were not young) yelling at each other most of the night.

As for them only having specials for a family of four, I don't understand what you mean. You can get any special no matter the amount of people as long as it's not more than will fit in the room. You have to realize that a special price quoted for 4 people is not going to be 50% of that price for 2 people. The room has to be paid for no matter if there is one or 4 people in it. That's why the 3rd and 4th passengers on cruises in the same cabin are so much cheaper.

My DH and I went to Disney every November for about 10 years. Some times we took the the children and grandchildern, some times we didn't. I lost him a year ago June, and I am going back as a single this November. I have to pay the full price for the room even though it's just me in it. :-(

I have been in a dispute with WDW for over a month becuase of bad treatment and boilerplate responses to our complaints of not getting the resort ammenities we paid for, being treated rudely by support staff and taking money for services as prepayment and then keeping the money without delivering the merchandise. It has been a rediculous experience where and nobody wants to take care of it for us. We get there cold, canned appologies and no action. Meanwhile they have gotten 15K from me and continue to take my money. I would think twice before booking a stay at one of thier "vacation club resorts". It has definitely changed our mond about buying into the vacation club. I'll save my money and rent a nice beach house for a week next time, far away from Disney.
