Finally getting to see the lights! Nov '11 Anniversary/Holiday/F&W PTR-New 11/4 p50

I love your trip reports!!! I'm a 16 year old with autism and I was diagnosed at almost 4.

Cute dress! Did you know that I have a Ann Taylor Loft outlet next to house now? When are you coming for a visit? lol

I'd good with blue shirts for the boys so they can get more wear out of them...then you can get a pair of cute blue sandals to go with your dress!

Oooooo... An outlet right next door! :cool1: Very cool!! I'll be there in an hour and a half!

I'm not sure if we'll go with bare feet or not... bare feet will be much cheaper! But if we get rained out & have to be indoors, we'll need something on our feet. Maybe I'll look for some cheap sandals at Walmart or Target for the boys. They don't have to be comfortable, just decent looking.

And I agree about the blue shirts!

Having settled on blue shirts for the boys for the photo session, I took advantage of a good sale at Lands End today. 25% off EVERYTHING, even sale items & free shipping. So here's what I bought:

The shirts were $12.40 each with the sale. The shorts were $13.50 but I only had to buy one pair. Alex already has that exact pair of shorts and has only worn them once or twice so I'll tuck them away to go with the pair I just bought for Zach. The sandals were $12.74 per pair ($16.99 minus 25%). Hopefully they'll get some use out of them after the photo session. I won't let them wear them this summer so I ordered 1/2 size up. Luckily they both just barely moved up into half sizes (2 1/2 & 3 1/2) because Lands End only carries these sandals in full sizes (I ordered 3 & 4). :thumbsup2

So what do you think? Tim can wear khaki shorts that he already owns, along with a white polo shirt... either one he already owns or a new one that I'll buy closer to our trip. Shoes will be tricky for him. He usually wears sneakers with shorts. I don't even know what kind of shoes men wear with shorts. Any suggestions? Shoes for me will be easy! ;)

Will Tim wear a flip flop? A pair of those in a tan or blue color would be easy peasy....if he'll wear them.

Maybe? :confused3 I guess he'll wear whatever I ask him to wear for the photo...

I've been looking at website that sell men's shorts & most of the models seem to wear boat shoes. I'll have to have him look around.

:welcome: :welcome: :welcome: I'm so happy to have you along for the ride! Have you written any reports about your trips? I'd love to read them if you have!!

I ditto that :goodvibes

then you can get a pair of cute blue sandals to go with your dress!

LOVE it...my Mom bought me some DIS green Clarks flip flops they are beyond comfy...i was going to save for oct...but just couldn't resist wearing them now...have to take a pix! :thumbsup2

oh boat shoes :sad2: :rotfl: Matt used to wear those all the time....e-gad. I hated them sorry...I'd go w/ flip flops, Matt probably wouldn't wear them either though he's a gym shoe guy too. Maybe you can find a sweet cheap deal.

Oh and i love the dress you can totally pull that off and look great!

:lmao: Boat shoes......I threw away DH's after we started dating!

I don't think there is anything wrong with Tim wearing sneakers with a low cut ankle sock. I would assume that he has nice looking sneakers :thumbsup2

You guys are too funny! I guess we shouldn't go with boat shoes. :headache: Yes he has nice sneakers, or can get a new pair before then if needed. My mom works at a Nike store (and gets a huge discount that she can share with family) so we're good there. :thumbsup2

I'll have Tim look at some flip flops & see what he thinks. I had emailed him (he's working late tonight) some boat shoes to look at then followed up with an email that the DIS friends don't approve so he can ignore that email! :rotfl:

Hopefully he'll like the flip flop idea - I just think it will look beachier than sneakers... if we even see his feet in the pictures!

And with flip flops he won't get sand in his shoes if you take pictures on the beach....well you know what I mean.

I think we have a winner...

Tim likes these so I'm going to order them from Zappos tonight. Hopefully he still likes them when they arrive.

Oh, Amy, I love your new dress! It is perfect for the photo shoot, and the outfits you picked out for the boys will be adorable! :thumbsup2

The dress is perfect for beach photos. :thumbsup2
The boys' shirts match nicely, too, and with Dad in white - you'll all look very nicely coordinated. I guess I'm in the minority, as I was thinking boat shoes for him when I read you first comment. (I was thinking of them in some of the lighter colors that match the khaki better.) That is what you see a lot in the modeling/catalog pictures. Hope he likes the flip-flops, anyway.

I look forward to seeing the boys in beach pictures. I hope you get a nice mix of sweet pictures and crazy pictures from them.

Love, love the dress. It's going to be great for the photo. The boys' things are cute too and will go nicely with you and Tim in kahki and white.

Hate to break it to Heidi and Julie but boat shoes are IN big time. Mairead looks at the Sperry topsiders everytime we're out shopping and they are all the rage at the high schools. Brian has a nice light kahki color pair that he wears with shorts when he's not wearing sneakers. Those flip flops are good too though, Brian doesn't do the between the toe thingies.

Thank MeMom! There are definitely a lot of boat shoes in the clothing ads. That's actually where I first got the idea. I think Tim is happy with flip flops - we'll see if he likes them when they arrive. If not, we may revisit the boat shoe idea.

Thanks Anne Marie! We'll see how Tim feels about the between the toes thing... He has worn flip flops before, but usualy the kind that have one big thing across the whole foot.

Love the dress Amy. :goodvibes And the clothes for the boys. You are all going to look fabulous for your photo-shoot! :thumbsup2

Thanks Shelly! I knew the dress would be perfect as soon as I saw it!

Cute dress! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 And the boys outfits and sandals are adorable! You will all look great! (and i need to check out that lands end sale - I think I have to order Nick's clothes from there this year.)

Does Nick wear a uniform to school? One of my friends buys a lot of clothes for her daughter from Lands End. She goes to a private school that requires uniforms. I think the sale is still going on. :thumbsup2

Epcot!! My favorite park!

I feel like we don’t have enough Epcot time planned on this trip… We will be so close we should be spending every minute there! But it is a short trip & we have a lot of other things to do! We are only using park tickets for four days… but I’ll probably be able to convince Zach to pop into Epcot with me during our “break” time on our non-Epcot days if I bribe him with Kaki Gori & maybe a KP mission. I’ll have to remember to sneak into Epcot to grab some KP FPs on a couple mornings if there’s time.

We have plans to spend time at Epcot on our first day, our last day and for a little while mid-week after our anniversary dinner. We will spend just a few hours there on Tuesday night for dinner (Teppan Edo or Le Cellier) & a few rides. We’ll spend our biggest chunk of time there on Saturday morning. We’ll make rope drop, knock our Future World, then head to either Teppan Edo or Via Napoli for lunch. (I’m leaning toward Teppan Edo on Tuesday & Via Napoli on Saturday… but Tim loves Le Cellier so I don’t know. I think he’d like Via Napoli too.) I did make the lunch ADRs later than normal for us (1:00ish) to give us more time to do what we want in Future World, then make our way to lunch via the Mexico side (since we’ll get more time on the Canada side simply because we’ll be using the International Gateway.
