May I just say?

OUCH!!! :faint: I had a hard time even reading about needles in the nose, let alone living to tell.

Great start, though!

Yay, you've started! What a great start, too. To the trip report at least, the day itself sounded really hectic. I'm glad you got through it, though, hills and all!

I can't wait for more!

Great start Crystal..I'm sorry about those hills! Yikes..I can't even imagine constant ear pain like that...:(....

Don't work too hard!!!!! U know we will be here waiting with baited breath for you!

Kungaloosh!!!!!!

Thanks for your patience so far, guys!

I seem to have quit the evil new job today. Either my alarm didn't go off, or I didn't hear it, and by the time I was awake, I only had 10 minutes to get to work. I did one of those deer in the headlight things- I've been planning to quit ASAP, and I'm pretty sure today was going to be my last day anyway- I was planning to call over the weekend and let them know I'd be moving to FL, and felt guilty about continuing with training for a job I know I won't be at long. So when I found myself in a position this morning where I knew I'd be at least 5 minutes late getting there (and I got an e-mail reprimand for clocking in at 8:02 a few days ago), I just couldn't go. I've never just not shown up to a job, ever, so I felt really bad about not going, but I just *couldn't*.

I don't know how to describe how miserable the job made me. A couple of examples: I have new info about the system to study each afternoon, and then I take a test over it the next morning. A few days ago, one of the questions was something like "What information do you need to get from someone who calls who has a new account that is not totally set up in the system yet?" I listed all the info I needed to get from them... but I got the question wrong because I didn't add that I needed to forward the message to a certain person. "But it asks what info to get from the owner, and the person I send it to isn't something I'd get from them!" Nope, still wrong. ***? I think that the final straw was yesterday: Our computers were down for about two hours, so whenever someone called, all we could do was jot down their info and promise to call them back. As a result, everyone was sitting around doing nothing, and they were letting groups go on extra breaks to kill time. Well, since I was sitting there doing *nothing*, I happened to reach into my purse and flip my phone open to see if I had any missed calls or messages. An hour or so later, my trainer was off talking to the boss about some time off she was taking, and when she came back, she delivered the message that "there was to be no more texting- that needs to wait for breaks." I spent all of three seconds looking at my phone, while we were doing NOTHING, and got in trouble for it. And not even by the boss sayings something, but by passing on a message. Quoth another DIS-er's DH-- sorry, but I don't roll that way!

So, um, that turned into a long rant, when all I really meant to say was "Hey! No more evil job!"

On that note! I'll have an actual update to the trip to post momentarily!!!

Disneyween Part 2- 10/26/07- Xanax RULES!

Do you know what is really, really nice after you've had an incredibly stressful year? Waking up in a huge, comfy bed, knowing that not only do you have several hours to kill doing nothing, but that later today, you'll be in DISNEY WORLD.

That, my friends, is the good stuff!

It was around 7:30am, and my mom was already heading off to the casino, so I sat around watching Saved By the Bell and eating last night's leftover chips, and basically just loving doing nothing. Then I scurried off to the bathroom to soak in the HUGE, deep tub. BLISS!

I got everything packed up and ready to go, and then spent a little time down in the casino losing $40. (I had ZERO luck on the slots today! I can usually sort of break even, but no luck today!) Before we knew it, it was 10am, and time to head to the airport. I'M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD! Woooooo-hoooooo!

It's about a 20 minute drive from where we were staying to the airport, and other than my mom almost running a stop sign before we even made it out of the casino lot, it went pretty quickly!

We lugged my bags into the airport, and Mom spent some time hanging out with me until it was time to go through security.

Kansas City is a weird airport! The terminal I was in was basically a big horseshoe-shaped hallway, with basically nothing there. Here's a bad camera phone pic:

The gates are on the other side of the wall on the right, past security. It just seems so small and plain for an international airport in a fairly large city!

About 45 mins before my flight, I said goodbye to Mom and set off for security. I had a tiny chapstick in my carryon, and I stopped to ask security if I needed to ziplock bag it. "Nah, that's fine." Then I asked about my asthma inhaler, since I wasn't sure if it counted as an aerosol. "Nope, don't worry about it." Um, thanks!

I ended up being chosen to get patted down by the security woman at the metal detector. I always joke with them when this happens, because it's the only way I know how to deal with getting felt up by a stranger in public. Thankfully, this woman actually had a sense of humor and joked back- they usually just look at me like I'm a freak!

When I got to my gate, the lines to board were already really long, and they were about to start boarding, so I popped my xanax, and got in line. (I was in the "B" group, despite printing my passes 22 hours ahead of time. D'oh!) I called my friend Todd to tell him I was setting off- I've been talking to him a lot lately about all the crazyness going on regarding the job change and possibly moving and everything else, and he's been so supportive. A few nights before my trip, he said "You know, there are some people that I tend to worry about, but you're not one of them. And that's not because I don't care, but because I know you'll be fine." I don't know if he knows how much that vote of confidence meant to me.

I got off the phone before I hit the front of the line, and dug out my boarding pass. I handed it to the man at the gate, and started walking down the tunnel to the plane when he called me back. Turns out that things were running late, and this was a flight to DALLAS- mine would be boarding next! I almost got on the wrong flight!!!

Lesson learned: Make sure that the fight boarding at your gate is YOURS before taking xanax! I was falling asleep waiting in the line to board my actual flight!

The flight attendant sang "Zip a dee doo dah", changing the words to be themed to Southwest, since we were on our way to Orlando! ;) And that's pretty much the last thing I remember. I can NEVER sleep on flights or in the car, but I was out for most of the fight. I woke up several times, kind of glanced around, and then fell back asleep. I finally really woke up just before we started decending to land. Oh, great, this was just the part I wanted to miss!!!

I ended up having 2-3 minutes of really intense ear pain, but then it was gone and I was fine. YAY! I stepped off the plane, and I was HOME.

Coming soon: Arriving at All Star Sports, and Adventuring!!!

Crystal, I am sorry that the job turned out to be so horrible. I am sure that everything will work out in the end in for you.

:lmao: Can you imagine if you had boarded the wrong flight and then fell asleep and ended up waking up in the wrong city. :rotfl:

But on the other hand love the update!

Glad about your ear not hurting, I'm sorry the new job was bad.
And after the spoiler i saw on Tiggerbell's TR, am I anxiously awaiting your next installment.

I'm glad you quit that job...it sounds like they were treating you like prisoners!

So nice that the xanax helped with the flight!

Can't wait to hear about your move to FL!

Congratulations on liberating yourself from the sucky job! :cheer2: Quitting is a necessary evil in times like that.

Also, I hate flying - from ascent to descent - so this Xanax deal is sounding pretty sweet. Can't wait for the next installment!!

I'm so proud that if nothing else, the moral of this trip report is "drugs are good!" ;)

You're moving to Florida?! Can't wait to hear more about your trip. Glad they realized you were getting on the wrong flight before you actually got on the plane.

No more evil jobs!!!!! Yay! You are better than some crappy job anyways! Now you have more time for DISing and more time to get to the part about moving to FL cause we all wanna know WTH thats about!!!!!!!

OK, I'm on board for the trip report!

Also, I'm proceeding to grab the Magic 8-ball off my desk and ask, "Did Crystal snag a job at WDW?" ...
