FINALLY COMPLETE! 10/3/2010- But Why is the Rum Gone? Disneyween 2007

wow Crystal...that is some pretty big news about the job. Good for you for getting out if it was making you miserable. While I think it's hard for many people to find a job they flat-out love, I definitely believe one's job should not be causing one misery. Especially considering most of us spend more time at work than not :sad2: (sleeping doesn't count!)

The flight attendant sang "Zip a dee doo dah", changing the words to be themed to Southwest, since we were on our way to Orlando! ;)

they did that on my last flight with them too! "Zip a dee doo dah, Zip a dee ay. Thank you for flying Southwest Airlines today. Plenty of peanuts headed your way. Zip a dee doo dah, Zip a dee ay." I'll never forget it

Wow! All caught up! LOve the pic of Jack on the road - looks a little familiar! :thumbsup2

And Rhonda and I learned quickly there are NO FLAT ROADS around you!!! For miles and miles and miles!!!

Can't wait to hear more about the move and your trip (in either order...) ;)

Woo hoo you've started. :woohoo:

I looked around at Magical Express & didn't see you.

Hope you had a great trip & can't wait to hear if you are moving to Florida soonish.

glad to hear that you quit the horrible job. I hope all works out in the Fl move for you. I feel a change in the wind!!!

You made the right move by quitting, as I am sure you know. You should never dread going to work every morning, blech! Not that I leap out of bed every day, but you know what I mean.....

Yay, Florida moving!
If you are willing to make a little bit of a drive, there are plenty of places just outside the city that have cheaper rents. :thumbsup2

When we last left off, I had just landed in Florida-- without my head exploding! Yay!

I usually dash straight from the plane to Magical Express, but this time I had a mission! I had a big shopping list of things I wanted to buy from Lush (awesome natural/handmade beauty supply store), and I just learned that they will give you samples!!! So I stopped in for a sample of one of the shampoos and one of the conditioners, so I could try them out during the week. The chunks she gave me were actually a pretty good size- probably $3-4 worth. Yay!! So if you’re contemplating buying something from there, stop in when you arrive, and pick up some samples! (The Big shampoo is awesome!)

After picking up my snazzy free samples (Now that I think about it, you could probably get out of packing shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc by doing this!), I made my way to the DME check-in, and was quickly on a bus to AS Sports!

I’m so used to not getting into FL until late at night that getting there in the afternoon was a really nice change!

A nice reminder of what’s coming up!

I actually spent most of the drive looking out the windows- since I’m looking for somewhere to live, I was trying to watch for any apartment places I’d heard of, and just learning my way around.

We’re heeeeeeeeeere!

We stopped at Coronado first, and I was surprised at how much I liked it. I need to make a trip over to explore someday! Lucky for me, our second stop was All Star Sports!

I checked in, and got my free $20 food gift card (YAY!), and immediately went to use it on some dinner, since I was starving! Pizza in hand, I set off to find my room, which was in the football building.

Having never stayed at All Star Sports, and only being there for two nights, I didn’t really care what building I was in. I’m not sporty (um, at all.), and the only building design that really appealed to me was the Surf, which is preferred, so I just didn’t make any room requests.

Well, luck of the draw, I ended up with an AWESOME room location! I had the football building, first floor, a very short walk from the main building- woohoo!

And these are out of order, but some night shots of Sports...

Plus, it was a refurbished room (not sure if they all are now?), and I had a king bed! Wooooty hoo!

Yay!

The pizza from the food court was surprisingly good!

I haven't really liked the pizza since they changed it, but maybe it was just because I was starving-- this was GOOD!

I should actually get some things done this afternoon, so I'll call it quits for here- coming up, though: Adventurers Club!

  <-- This is approximately my reaction to your LUSH idea.

And ASSp actually doesn't look that bad.

I will have to check out Lush when I am down next December.

ASSports doesn't look that bad. It is not my first choice in resorts either.

That pizza sure does look good!

Great Update Crystal! I need to find your old reports and re-read them since I am going on my first solo trip in Feb. Really your trips have inspired me and made me realize I can do it alone. :thumbsup2

I love Solo trips!

Plus, I may be there in Feb if you want to visit me at work! :thumbsup2

You are killing me here...so you are definitely moving to FL? That is very exciting. And where are you working? I don't think I can wait til the end of the TR to find out...although I may have to. Maybe you could give some not so subtle hints along the way? Something like "Next I went on the Jungle Cruise. I'm so excited to work at the Beach Club Front Desk. After the Jungle Cruise, I grabbed a bite to eat." Just sayin'. :rolleyes1

Loving it as usual. popcorn::

Part 4: Future Soon!

When we left off, I had just checked in at All Star Sports, and gulped down a pizza.

It was time set off to meet Katie and Sherice at the Adventurers Club! My luggage hadn’t even arrived from DME yet, so I had to go pretty much straight off the plane- needless to say, I felt very pretty.

On the way to the Club, when the speil mentioned having to be a certain age to enter the clubs, I realized that I didn’t have my drivers license with me!!! D’OH!!! So, after the 20 minute bus ride to PI, I had to turn around and wait for a bus BACK to Sports, go back to the room, grab my license, wait for a bus BACK to PI, and go back!

On the bus there AGAIN, I was amused by two VERY drunk women. It was only 9pm, but they were feeling GOOD. They were singing LOUDLY, and doing oddly acrobatic movements while standing. Poor bus driver!

When I got to the Club, Sherice (who I’d never met- she‘s a friend of Katie‘s) and Katie were already there, and we got to catch the Halloween Jubilee show, which was great! After, Katie was tired and decided to leave, but there was a great cast that night, and I was way too happy to be in FL to call it a night yet, so I stuck around till the Club closed.

YAY! My favorite Emil AND favorite Otis! Score!

I ran into Jason, who has posted on my report a few times (howdy!) and he invited me to sit at the “freak” table for the Hoopla. Just my kind of table!

During the Hoopla!, Emil sang one of my FAVORITE Jonathan Coulton songs, which made me incredibly happy! Someone has already put it up on YouTube, so here it is!

AWESOME.

The Club closes after the Hoopla, so it was back to the resort. I got back to the room around 2am, and basically fell into bed, since I’d been up since 7am my time (6am in FL!).

Coming up next, the first REAL day of the trip!
(And sorry for sucking at replying to comments lately! I will get better!)

Just returning from a night where I pulled the designated driver rotation (kinda like jury duty), and at least I found a trip update ....

Yay!

The pizza from the food court was surprisingly good!

I'd hate to say it, but my money is on your starvation :confused3

Anytime you refer to 'Hoopla' and the Adv Club, I feel like I'm one of Pavlov's dogs trained to cheer with the reward of alcohol :woohoo:

HOOPLA ! (OK, so where the heck is my drink ???)

wow....i'm surprised at how much i like the rooms at AS sports! hmmmm......gives me an idea about a late summer trip next year with my dad before my AP expires! my husband's gonna kill me. thanks, crystal!!!

I'm going to make it to the Adventurer's Club one of these days!
