I've got a big decision to make!!!

A DVC owner contacted me with the 30th & 31st at BCV!!!

So, do I cancel my AKL reservation? (If Kelly ends up unable to go, I won't be able to afford both )

The plus side is that BCV would save me $28/nt over AKL. The down side is that I wouldn't be getting the $75 gift card.

Here's how each option would break down:

Option 1:
26 & 27 at AS Sports (or other value, if it works out!)
28 & 29 at CBR or POFQ
30 & 31 at BCV
1st and 2nd at POR

Total- $1100, minus $120 free dining cards = $980 resort cost


Plan 2:
26 & 27- AS Sp or other value
28 & 29- AKL
30 & 31- CBR
1st and 2nd- POR

Total = $1156, minus $195 free food = $961 resort cost

Not a huge difference, really, but I honestly can't decide! I would LOVE to stay at BCV again, but giving up $75 in free dining is a big deal!

The other option, which I would LOVE is:
26 & 27- Value
28 & 29- AKL
30 & 31- BCV
1 & 2- POR
Total = $1236, minus $145 free food = $1091 resort cost

If Kelly DOES end up going, and is able to pitch in a little on the resort cost, this would be do-able! Unfortunatly, I don't know for sure when I'll find out if she's going or not!

What would you do?

My "fingers crossed" bonus plan- my mom is going to Vegas the beginning of October for a few days, and she's said that if she wins, she'll give me some money towards the trip, which would be *awesome*! (Who doesn't love free money?) It's obviously a long shot, though, so I can't count on it.

My other hope is that I'll get another, cheaper offer for a DVC room from someone else in the next couple of days!

OH MAN! I have to mention my ear doctor appointment yesterday! You may recall I've been having problems with ear pressure, and I'm really getting worried about flying with it! To minimize the gory details, the ear doctor blew a TON of nose sprays up my nose to numb it, and then I got SHOTS up my NOSE! As in a needle way up my nose!!! TWICE! And THEN they drew blood for an alergy test! It was an experience, to say the least!

Luckily, the injections seem to be helping- my ears are much better than they've been in months. I have another appointment about a week before my trip, and if I'm still having problems, they'll slice a tiny hole in my eardrum to help with the pressure so I'll be ok to fly.

My one thought (which I'm sure is blasphemy) is that *if* you get a job that won't let you take time off for your vacation, and you're desperate for a job, that it'd be easier to cancel a reservation through CRO than a point renter.

I would say go for AKL because of the gift card. Keep posting on the dvc boards and maybe you'll get something else come along, you never know! But that gift card will pay for some food for you which would def cut down on the costs!

HOLY CRAP!!! Just the thought of a needle up my nose makes my eyes water..and the idea of slicing a hole in your eardrum..talk about DEDICATION TO DISNEY !!! i hope you continue to feel better ..i know how much ear pain/distress stinks...i have a small hole in my right eardrum from an infection years ago so when i go for walks or spend any time outside in weather that is cooler than 60 degrees, my ear starts to hurt..weird. Hence, I have a lot of earmuffs

I vote for option #1: what you lose in free dining $$, you gain in extra awesomeness of resort.

Then again, I've never even stayed at a deluxe, so your predicament is very glamorous to me.

The news is that the resort plans have changed, yet again!

You may recall that I got a message about a studio at BCV a few days ago, and was trying to decide if I wanted to rent it or not. It was $28/nt cheaper than AKL, but I would be giving up the $75 free dining card, so it would almost balance out. After some pondering, I decided to go with BCV- I really, really loved it there in January, and I'd really like to go back!

Well, I thought that would be the last of my resort changes, but last night I got a PM from a DVC owner, who managed to get me a studio at OKW for 2 nights! For cheaper than what I'm paying for All Star Sports!!! SIGN ME UP!

Since I'm saving so much on the OKW room, I decided I'll switch my first 2 nights at AS Sports to CBR. So, here's what the new plan looks like:

26 & 27- CBR
28 & 29- OKW
30 & 31- BCV
1 & 2- POR

I'm so happy with how this has all worked out!

Just 29 days to go!
