Hi, everybody!
Thanks to everyone for the job-related sympathy and pixie dust!
No news on the job getting front yet, but I DID just book my flight!
I'll be flying nonstop out of Kansas City on Southwest- and I got roundtrip for $159! Woo!
My mom is a big fan of the slot machines, and as a result, she always has coupons for free nights at the casino hotels. (I started to say she has offers for free nights, but that just sounded...wrong!) The plan is to drive up to KC the day before my trip (It's about 4 hours), spend the night, and then fly out the next day. Repeat the process in reverse for the trip home!
I am a little freaked out about my ear problems and flying. It's so weird- I LOVE to fly- I have the opposite of a fear of heights. But for the first time, I am freaking out about flying, because of the problems I've been having with my ears. Sometimes the pressure seems to act like a vacuum, making it hard to breathe- and that's just from driving on hills!
What's going to happen coming down from 40k feet???
I have an appointment with a different ear doctor on Monday- (The last one gave me the lovely news of "Well, we'll try one more medicine, but if this doesn't work, you're pretty much stuck.") I really hope this one works!
Plan B is to get some lovely little pill that will just knock me out for the flight, or at least make me nice and loopy, so at least if soething goes wrong, I won't care!
On a lighter note, Lily hasn't been in my trip report in a while!
