FINALLY COMPLETE! 10/3/2010- But Why is the Rum Gone? Disneyween 2007

I love your pre-trip! I can't wait to read the rest of it when I get back from my trip! I've been following along for awhile, just haven't posted. Love the shoe addiction! I feel your pain. Have you tried looking at airtran for flights? I got mine for $59 each way!

Oooh, I hadn't heard of airtran! I checked out their site, but the only non-stop flights on my dates are at inconvenient times. Thanks for the suggestion, though!

And thanks for posting!

I'll be there at the same time as you, but I'm not sure if we'll make it out to the adventurer's club. I'll look for the pirates if we do, though!

How excited are you to be under 50 days now? :yay: I highly suggest checking out the Club (obviously!) while you're there!

I'll be there Oct 26th but only at MNSSHP before heading on over to the Disney Magic on the 27th. I would love to do the Adventurer's Club on Halloween though, that would be so fun. Something for my to do list.

Aww, we'll just miss you! Have a great time on the cruise- I can't wait to do it again someday!

My Sassaris gave me huge blisters on both feet.

Will be at the club 10/31 - 11/4 except 11/2 because I will be at the Universal horror night then.

OUCH! Hopefully my icky dancer feet are immune to evil shoes by now?

Sounds like we'll see you at the club! :thumbsup2 If you choose to acknowledge the fact that you know those weird people, of course. :upsidedow

Nice Ithacas, shoe twin!

We'll be around that week because we live here ;) I have no idea what our plans are yet, but I might be able to talk the hub into a night at the Adventurer's Club......

The Sassaris are cute too! Being 5'3" I could use all the help I can get.

Aww, you should come, and wear your Ithacas, and we can invent a secret shoe twin handshake! (Footshake?)

10/28 - 11/3

I'll be at the Adv. Club on Halloween, most likely as some sort of piratey-doctor amalgm. You can just be prepared to ask all the guys dressed in scrubs if they're Brocktoon ... I'm sure it's a great ice-breaker

I generally talk to anyone dressed as a doctor anyway, so we should be set!

If THIS isn't Fuzzy DIsney Math, I don't know what! :rotfl:

Love the new shoes :thumbsup2

I majored in fuzzy dizney math, baby!

We'll be there at the same time, but not at the Adv. Club. Maybe we'll bump into you somewhere along the way though! :goodvibes

P.S. Love the new shoes, too cute!

Yay! Keep an eye out for us in the parks!

I am SO excited. :yay: My Disney planning has gone into overdrive! DH thinks I'm crazier and crazier with each passing day!

I will try to talk my tripmates into the AC, but I can't guarantee anything!

I thought I was going to be there around the same time as you, but my Oct trip is postponed until Oct 2008. I'll be there in December 2007 though and, hopefully, May/June 2008! Rocking out with my AP (AP virgin here, if you can't tell)!

I think my DM and I are booking airtran too. $79 to Orlando, $69 home.

An actual update!

Since yesterday was the 45 day mark *WOOHOO!*, I called CRO this morning to try to switch our AS-Sports reservation yet again. I had the best CM I've ever had- I just wish I'd gotten her name! She was genuinely friendly, and chatted with me when her computer froze, rather than sticking me on hold like many of them do.

Still no other values available (bleh!), but I did ask her to check moderates for Nov 1 & 2 for me, and was able to get POR at an AP rate, plus the free $50 dining card! Hooray! (The AP rate was $139.50 including tax- which if you subtract the free food card, is really only $114.50/night! I miss the days of getting moderates for $89/nt,though!)

I now officially have resort reservations for every night of my trip! They'll still probably change around a bit, but at least I know I won't end up homeless!

Here's how things stand right now:
Oct 26 & 27- AS Sports- hoping to change to *any* other value
Oct 28-31 - Animal Kingdom Lodge standard view- We may have to change this to somewhere cheaper, but hopefully not! I'd ideally like to split it to 2 nights AKL, 2 nights WL, but at this point I'll take whatever!
Nov 1 & 2- Shiny new POR reservation!

If I end up changing the AKL reservation to a moderate, it will probably be POR, since Kelly liked the pics she saw of it. If we do that, I'll probably change the reservation for my solo days to a different mod, just for variety. I'm thinking either CBR, where I've never stayed, to try something new, or POFQ, which I stayed at once but didn't like much, to give it a second chance.

Or, of course, the DVC fairy will come through, and we'll be kicking back in a BCV studio!

Come on, resort pixie dust!

I"m glad its working out for you (and not being homeless)

Glad you now have reservations for the whole trip and won't be homeless! I don't know how you can handle all those resort changes during one trip. I would find it so stressful. Do you pack light so that you don't have a lot of luggage to worry about when transferring hotels?

Wow three resort changes in one trip! I hope you get lots of :pixiedust: :pixiedust: and can enjoy the BCV!

You have given new meaning to words split stay, my friend! :)

I do enjoy the split stay! My record so far is 5 resorts in one trip, I think.

I know some people don't dig moving mid trip, but I LOVE it! It's like your trip is divided into two (or three...or five!) vacations. The change of scenery is fun!

Plus, if you have a sucky room location or noisy neighbors at once place, you're only stuck with them for a few days!

re:packing light- I WISH!

The beauty of Disney is that when it's time to check out of one hotel, and into the other, it goes a little like this:
1) Pack stuff up (ie shove anything that's out back into the suitcase)
2) Push the button on the phone that looks like a suitcase
3) Say "I'm moving to Resort X, can you please move my bags?"
4) Hand bags over to nice bell person.
5) Run off to the parks to play!
6) Head to new resort to check-in, and for lunch/nap/etc
7) Push the pretty suitcase button again, and ask for luggage

Voila! ;)

I'm seriously contemplating doing a "test run" on packing to see if I need to invest in a bigger suitcase (or a sherpa) for this trip. The problem, it seems, is shoes.

I've gotta pack my fabulous new black/pearl Crocs. And the Sassaris, for when I want to be a little "dressed up". And I'm thinking of packing my old worn-in Athens crocs- they have no traction left, but they're soooo squishy! And then I'm also thinking about packing my Beach crocs- just in case the new ones irritate my feet between my toes, I'll have another option.

And I have to pack the fuzzy pink slippers.

Ladies of the DIS (and men secure in your masculinity!), I totally recommend packing yoursef a pair of big ol' fluffy, floofy, comfy fuzzy pink slippers. (Bunnies are optional.)

There is NOTHING better than coming back to the resort for your mid-day brek, and slipping into super comfy slippers!

If you're staying somewhere like WL or AKL, they're ideal for running out for a snack. (They'd probably get icky treking around the values or mods).

They take up a TON of room in the suitcase, but now that I've seen their glory, I can't leave them at home!

You know, this shoe thing has me concerned. I think I *will* do some test packing!

*runs off to drag out the suitcase*

I am so having a shoe dilema myself. Its my daughter and I. I need to pack at least 3 pairs a piece. Plus she has different sneakers for her MNSSHP costume... oh brother. I think I will need a third suitcase just for our shoes. :confused3

Shoes are ALWAYS my problem with packing. I just never know about the shoes. Of course, I end up wearing only 2 pairs that I pack!

You are typing this a 4:00 am! Did you really do and try your suitcase at that hour??!!! You are one determined packer!!! :lmao:

So glad you have a home for all the nights of your trip. I remember when you went to AKL last year and your pics were wonderful hopefully you wont have to change that reservation. Who knows you guys may get some extra pixiedust and be upgraded to Savanah view! :cool1: Wouldn't that be great?! I can't wait to hear all about it this year and all the other resorts you are staying at. All your planning looks great...Disneyween is getting closer and closer!! :hourglass

I hate shoes. I can't walk in anything but Reeboks with socks, anything else gives me blisters in no time.

So I have to carry another pair if I anticipate dressing up for anything.

I used to do lots of split stays before I bought DVC, they were great. You always had a new resort to look forward to.

40 days!

I really hope we get to keep the AKL reservation, too!

I haven't had a chance to talk to Kelly lately, but last time I did, she was having some money worries about the trip. If we have to switch to all values for her to be able to go, it will totally be worth it, but I really do hope we get to do AKL! Or WL!

I've pretty much accepted that no matter what, I'm gonna end up with blisters! Even with my beloved Crocs, my feet only last a few days. You would think they would have toughened up by now!

I sleep weird hours- 4am is one my most productve times! ;)

The suitcase trial run didn't go so well. My shoes take up like 1/3 of the suitcase! I'm gonna have to do some rethinking! (Of course if I wear the Beach Crocs on the plane, that will free up some space...)

Shoes are ALWAYS my problem with packing. I just never know about the shoes. Of course, I end up wearing only 2 pairs that I pack!

Same here! I usually stick with one or two pairs the whole trip, but I like having the options!

I used to be an awesome packer-only the necessities! But then I found myself looking over the clothes in my suitcase in the morning, always wishing I'd brought more to choose from. Now I need to find a happy medium!

Someone needs to invent a shrinking ray for suitcases! Or we need to learn that charm from Harry Potter that magically amplifies the space inside of something! (Think Hermione would loan me her purse for the trip?)

I will try to post an actual update later! Things have been interesting around here lately!

Wohoo 40 days!!! :cool1:

Hopefully you will talk to Kelly soon, and even if you have to switch to values its not bad. At least Kelly will still be able to go! Like you said it would be totally worth it because Kelly can't miss Disneyween :scared1: .
