FINALLY COMPLETE! 10/3/2010- But Why is the Rum Gone? Disneyween 2007

Someone just sent me a forward with a picture of a drunk-looking cat. It was captioned "I know why the rum is gone." I tried to copy it into my reply, but couldn't figure it out.

It made me think of your Pre-Trip immediately!

You have to figure out how to post this! My friend would love it! :lmao:

Thanks to the glory of e-bay, we have another new trip mascot!

Okay, I think I want to see photos of Snape at Disney. I'll take him to a food and wine event if you want. (assuming you get Alan Rickman)

I say ditch Stitch and the crocodile.

Crystal, I went to Target yesterday and they had a TON of POTC stuff in the 1-spot - stickers, notepads, pens and pencils, etc. You should check it out!

Oooh, Target! I'm stuck at home all weekend for the Blogathon, but maybe I'll make it over on Monday. Thanks for the heads-up!

I figured it out:

You think I'd let Alan Rickman out of my posession? :rotfl2:

I think Snape at Disney photos are going to be hilarious. Should I make him his own set of mouse ears?

I can't wait for him to get here!

Ahhhh, covering my eyes :cool2: and ears :music:, cuz I haven't read the book yet!

Get to reading, young lady! (We need a smiley shaking its finger at you!)

It's almost 11am, which means I'm 3 hours into the Blogathon. (Blogathon.org) 21 hours to go! :woohoo: If you need me, I'll be here. All day. Alllll day. My butt is getting tired just thinking about all the sitting ahead!

I forgot to ask.

WHere is your blogathon?

On your page or on your website?

I know, I know! It's pathetic, really, but I don't even know when I will have time to read it. :confused3 I have to finish some reading before I start back to work on Tuesday (I'm a teacher) then I have to finish the biography on Walt Disney that I CHECKED out of the library (as it is DUE very soon). Then, and only then, do I get to read HP7! Like I said, pathetic! :sad2:

Another pathetic story...I just saw HP5 at the theatre yesterday!!!! But, I guess, at least I saw it. It was great!!!! :thumbsup2

OMG, yes! What's your blogathon cause?

I'm blogging for Doctors Without Borders this year- they're an awesome charity! (I posted about them early this morning on the blog)

I forgot to ask.

I just returned some library books that were like a month overdue :rolleyes1, and just saw HP5 last week!

Should I make Deathly Hallows required reading for the trip report? ;)

I was really hoping that the new Snape mascot would arrive today, but no luck yet! (And still no call from Alan Rickman! Yeesh!)

OH MY!

I just looked at my watch list on e-bay, and the other Snape that was for sale (exactly the same as mine, but still in the package, whereas the one I bought is out) sold for $51!!! As much as I'm excited to take my very own potions master to Disney World, there's no way I would have spent $50 on him! That's like... half a photopass CD!

HAH! I just remembered why I came on the DIS- I was going to post an update here! (THIS is why I should not get up at 8am!)

I bought a set of moleskine cahiers- the little 3x5 inch lined notebooks. I have a regular moleskine notebook that I love, and you may remember that our autograph book is a watercolor moleskine. Since I love the others so much, I figured I'd love these, too!

Sadly, I'm not in love with them. I got them because they're pocket sized, and I figured they'd be the perfect size to carry aroud in the parks to jot down trip notes in. (Because when you're already carryig a giant autograph book, a blue alien, a tiny pirate, a crocodile, and a potions teacher, portability is obviously your first concern- hah!)

They *are* delightfully pocket-sized. I even tested to make sure I could just carry one in my jeans:

I can't believe I just posted a picture of my butt on the internet.

ANYWAY- as you can see, it fits perfectly! I tend to keep EVERYTHING in my back pocket at WDW- drivers license, room key, AP, fastpasses, you name it! And the notebooks have a handy built-in pocket that I could even slide all of those into.

So, what don't I like?

The cover is more cardboardy than the awesome leathery covers the other books have. The stitching along the sides is already a little unraveled, despite the fact that they were new in the package. Basically,I could have gotten a 33 cent mini notebook at Wal-Mart and been just as happy.

So, if you're looking for a handy trip report notebook, these are indeed handy an the perfect size, but unless you're a big fan of the brand name, stick with something cheaper!

Thus ends my product review! ;) I need to go write my 5:30 blogathon post now! It will be post #20- just 28 to go!

It's 4:30 am, 20.5 hours of blogging down, 3.5 to go!

I just wanted to thank you guys that read my report who came over to the blog to cheer me on! You're AWESOME!

Kellylou gets back from her camping trip today, so hopefully we'll have real Disneyween news SOON!

Awesome thing you're doing! I don't think I could manage that long on the computer sitting down. I've been pulling night audit shifts at the hotel and I'm going crazy. But wouldn't you know my system is down so unfortunately I can't get work done. Gosh darn. More time for DIS.

your blogathon was fun to read, i did try to leave a comment but it did not seem to work (or you will get 6 almost identical comments from me...hmm!). i am fond of your map that informs me both of what states you haven't been to (i see you have yet to hit PA!) and how much henrietta loves her chicks...whatever that means. also i tried the 'how many people in the USA have your name?' thingy and appearantly there aren't any people with my name, at all. including me? i'm not sure if that thing is accurate.
what a long 24 hours for you! congrats on making it through. and now i really want a snowcone!!

Oh, dear DIS friends, I'm sorry I've been neglecting you! We fell all the way down to page 3! It's been a loooong week here at Casa Crystal!

The blogathon went awesomely (is that a word?), and I wanted to say a specia thank you to you trip report readers who came by my blog to support me!

The rest of the week has been crazy! It started with me making my car payment online, but instead of it going through once, it went through THREE times, sending my bank account plummeting into the red, and causing a few overdraft fees. Grr! I'm STILL working on getting that straightened back out!

Then, my beloved kitty Tallulah got sick on Monday! She spent about two hours throwing up and...well.. similar on the other end! I was freaking out, and called the vet as soon as they opened (8am), but they didn't have an appointment until 3! (Grr!) I managed to get a few hours of sleep, and then took her in to get checked out. They're not quite sure what made her sick, but they gave her a couple of shots and some pills, and she seems to be doing a lot better- at least food is staying down! But she's still not too perky.

In actual Disneyween related news- Going by rumors and past dates, I'm expecting AP rates for October to come out within the next 2 weeks! That means we really need to buckle down and figure out where the heck we want to stay! I got a chance to talk to Kelly about it last night, but we still haven't been able to come to many conclusions.

The problem is that this is her first year teaching at a new school, so she's unsure how many days she'll be able to get off. She's thinking that she may have to leave on the 26th after school (A Friday), stay at WDW Sat, Sun, and Mon, and head home on Tuesday the 30th. Anyone familiar with Disney Math knows that's only 3 real park days, aka about 3 days too few! Plus, it means she would miss going to the Adv Club in costume on the 31st! I'm really hoping she can get at least a couple of extra days, so that she could go home on the 1st (Thursday), and therefore get to stay for Halloween!

As a result, in order to deal with my crazy needs to plan, I'm going to draw up plans for if we have 3 days, 4 days, etc.

I'm thinking that if we only have a few days, the WL is going to be the most convenient place to stay. It would make it much easier to o tea and MNSSHP on the same day, for instance, since both of those activities are close to the WL, and would mean a fairly short transportation time getting back and forth. (I'm not sure that 2 hours is enough for me to transform from mere mortal into Pirate Extraordinaire!)

In joyous trip related news- our new traveling companion arrived this week!

Snape is seen here on the DIS, checking the DVC rent trade board in hopes that someone has a BCV studio available! (Dude, I need to stay away from that board- it makes me wish I was going now! Someone's got points to be used in August for $5 per point! That's practically free!) We're still holding out hope that something will become available for us! (Although with the new rules, we won't know until 30 days or less before our trip. And I'm banned from posting new threads there because I committed the dark, unspeakable sin of putting a smiley after the word "bump".)

So, now that I've caught you up on the State of the Disneyween, I'm off to break out multi-colored pens and figure out how to smush two weeks of WDW goodness into three (%$Y%U$*) days!

AWWW! I hope Tallulah is feeling better! Last year, 2 days before our Disney trip my kitty, Bale, got sick the exact same way. We still tend to think it was something to do with the cat food recall but he took his meds and was fine, but it was g-ros while he was sick! He bounced back just fine tho, so I;m sure Tallulah will too! After all she has Snape to keep her company too ;) ! Good luck with picking a resort!

Im glad the blogathon went well! :) And Im so sorry your kitty has been sick. I know how that is. I always hate when my dog or cat get sick because they can never tell you how their feeling so its all guessing. But I'm glad shes feeling somewhat better.

Ohhh thats so exciting AP rates will be coming out soon! I'm looking to maybe upgrade from POP since I just got an AP last month. What have the discounts been like in the past? I'm thinking about CSR or CBR. Hopefully Kelly will be able to stay at least for Halloween! I'm crossing my fingers for her.
WL sounds great but I hope you get your points you have been hoping for!

Keep us updated!!! :goodvibes

Awww, I hope your kittie starts to feel better. It is awful when pets get sick because they can't talk to you so you never know what is going on and just feel so bad for them.

Snape is awesome!! I can't wait to see pictures of him around the park:rotfl:

I say go with the WL if you can not get your first choice of BCV, it is a great a hotel and surely will not disappoint especially seeing as this is her first trip.

Why doesn't Snape just put a spell on somebody who already has a studio at BCV and make them give it to you?

Crap, that would be me.
