FINALLY COMPLETE! 10/3/2010- But Why is the Rum Gone? Disneyween 2007

Here's hoping for those AP discounts! I remember waiting forever for the June/July AP discounts to be released and then when they were they were only for the Epcot resorts and DVC. Thus they were not much help to me. I ended up getting an awesome deal anyways via a secret code that was floated around on the Dis for a few hours.

Hopefully you'll have some luck and the AP rates will come out soon or maybe you'll get lucky and stumble upon an awesome code like I did:thumbsup2

You're going to have to give me the lowdown on jobs at Disney after you hit the casting center. I was planning on going in early October, but I had to cancel and won't be able to make it until next year. So get the scoop, sister! :cool2:

Always a good thing to avoid! :thumbsup2
I would keep an eye on your couch, catsup, cauliflower, and Christmas ornaments for the next 78 days... you appear to have contracted the dreaded "Letter-C Plague".

Wow, I didn't even notice the C thing! I suppose I should be nervous about my cell phone, too! (Although I already had one cell mishap this year, that should be enough!)

Will do! :thumbsup2 I'm really excited to find out what's available!

Today was shopping day!
Stop #2 was target- some of you awesome readers have told me they had Pirate stuff in the dollar spot- they did!

I have no idea how I will use any of these things, but they are fun to look at!!

ooooo...pretty notebooks! I looove notebooks and sort of collect them...I always think I'm going to use them for something and then lose my nerve. After all...they're so pretty you don't want to spoil them...right? :confused3

I do the same thing! I've only recently gotten better at actually using them. I have to have a notebook around AT ALL TIMES to jot down notes, or I go crazy! (Crazier?)

78 days to go!

This is sort of trip report related, sort of not:

I mentioned back at the start of my pre-trip (You know, back in 1937...) that I was considering moving to FL for the winter. I haven't put much thought into it lately, because I've had so much else going on, but I've been really thinking about it the past few days. I've been looking online for places to live, which is SCARY! I was at work last night, looking at apartments online, and found one that said it was right next to MK CM parking-awesome, right? Awesome, until I checked out the online reviews, and one said "I moved away from here after the drug-related mass murder". Um, okay, I think I can check that one off the list! :rotfl2:

So, my plan for now is to put together a list of places that I want to check out, and then set aside a few hours when I'm there in Oct (thus making this TR related!) to go check a few out.

Since you are all such a knowledgable bunch, can anyone recommend places where:
a) Rent isn't one billion dollars
b) The drive to WDW is less than 40 mins
c) I won't be killed :thumbsup2

If you can find something out by the Mall at Millenia area, it's pretty nice and not TOO expensive, and close to everything. Just don't move anywhere called "Pine Hills" - trust me. Winter Park is really nice, and most parts of Orlando proper are actually pretty decent. Somewhere by the airport would be ok. Or out by Sea World. Good luck! If you need to run an area by me, just shoot me a PM. I know most of the crime-spots ;)

I'm not even gonna say it! :rolleyes1

I laughed SO hard today when I was reading a review of an apartment building, and it said "Parking is pretty good, grounds are clean, no stabbings..." :rotfl:

What's sad is that I've started rationalizing. "Humm, a gunman shot up this building a few months ago... BUT it's only 10 minutes from Downtown Disney! It's a maybe!"

Loved your POC booty. I got some too to make treat bags for the DIS trick or treaters on our cruise.

You must be getting nervous about where you are going to stay. I would be  if I didn't have that planned.

Keep the updates planning.

Tips for driving across the country with a 25lb cat who hates the car are also welcome!

Also trip report related, I'm hoping to stop by the casting center on my Disneyween trip, just go get an idea of what's available, given that I'm only planning to stay 3-4 months. If nothing else, it will be an experience!

In other somewhat trip-related news, I FINALLY got new allergy medicine today, so hopefully my ear problem will be better soon, and I'll be able to work more! (Which means more $ for Disney!) Given that I have less than 3 months till the trip, I'm pretty worried about the money issue! In the past 2 months, my computer broke, my car broke, and my cat broke! (Resulting in a new hard drive, a towing and mechanic bill, and a vet bill and lots of petting for the kitty! She's doing a LOT better, btw- thanks to those who asked! :flower3: )

Am I the only one who feels like for every item I scratch off my to-do list, I add five more?

I really wish AP discounts would come out, so I'd have REAL news to share!

I have a kitty that is 25lbs.

They should form a club!

AP discounts should be out in the next couple of days- I can't wait to know for sure where I'm staying!

Speaking of which, when I found out discounts would be out soon, I sent Kelly a text message saying they would be out soon (since she's out of town), and hey! Would she prefer WL or AKL?

I wish I had a way to upload my voicemail that I got in return, because it is hilarious. Since I don't, here's the basic transcript:

"Okay, is WL like where all the pretty wood is, but the Animal place is where all the animals are, and now you're asking me to choose between them?

I love the WL because it's so cool and I think it's pretty there, but I love the animal place, because there are animals there!

Does one have brownies and the other one doesn't, because I think we should pick theone with brownies.

I was helpful-Yay!"

:rotfl:

When all else fails, pick the place with good desserts.

Should I explain zebra domes to her? Or would that just complicate things?

(This made me realize- how is it that I can e-mail pictures from my phone to flickr, send videos from my phone to YouTube, but there's no way to put my voicemail online?)

haha that voicemail is priceless!!! I dont think you should tell her about the zebra domes that would only make her decision that much harder. you know between the animals, pretty wood and brownies...I think she has enough to think about! haha

I wish I was going the same time as you guys, you seem like such fun!!

I'm so excited to hear what the AP codes are going to be! Do you have an idea of which day?

Use Gotvoice.com and you can blog your voicemails. :)

Hey, I just thought I'd check in and let you know that QVC is having a Disney Jewelry day today. They have some piratey earrings, item J22153. $26.

78 days to go!

Tips for driving across the country with a 25lb cat who hates the car are also welcome!

Dh and I drove from Canada to Georgia with 2 cats last July. We drove for 6 hours a day and let them out in the hotel in the evenings. We let them roam the backseat with my mom in the back with a pillow to block them from coming up front. By Noon, they were tired of trying to get up front and slept in the back window. We put a litter box behind the passenger seat on the floor and water and food in the back window.
My Vet in Canada, said it was safe to give the cats half of a anti-nausea tablet as well. That way they get drowsy quicker and will sleep the more during the drive.
My 25 lb cat does not like to take pills, so that was an adventure on its own.

Well, THAT kinda sucked.

I asked about AP discounts, and was told that all that was available was AKL, POR, and Pop. Eep!

When I asked about AKL, he said standard was $185/nt, and I asked if that included tax, he said yes. I asked about savannah, and he said $220/nt. WOW! That's cheaper than I paid back in January!

Um, I should have noticed that something was wrong with that.

I decided to go ahead and book savannah, since that's such a great rate, and what's an extra $20 each for savannah?

So, I give him my info, and then when he gets to the amount I'm being charged as a deposit, he says $286.87!

:confused3

I guess the $220 was before tax :(

I went ahead and booked it, but I'm going to call back later (when I'm more awake) to change it. $220 for a savannah view is great, but $286 we just can't do!

I'm also hoping that if I check for just a few of the days, WL or BC will be available. I really shouldn't have called right after waking up- I wasn't on my game at all!

I think I'll call back around 3pm, when the poor folks who have been listening to us whine all morning will be gone, and fresh blood will be in! ;)

Updates will be a comin!

AND I just realized I didn't get a confirmation #! D'oh!
