Final season of ER - Dr Ross to make a guest appearance!!

Man i'm never right! :lmao:

I did cry a little, Pratt was one of those love em, hate em kinda guys. Some weeks he was "doing the right thing" and the next week you wanted to "slap the lunch right out of his mouth" he was so nasty.

I loved a few seasons back, when the helicopter dropped on that weasle doctor, now that was funny! shocking but grossly funny!

I'm ready for the new season, and Doctor Gates (aka uncle jessie) hubba hubba!!!!;)

oh yeah I forgot I wanted to add that...what is up with the two weeks??? I hate that!

does anyone know how many episodes there will be this year? it seemed like there were a lot of breaks in between shows last year...

:sad1: It was sooooooooooo sad !

I missed the first 15 minutes...:headache: how was he injured? By the time I turned it on, he was on heart/lung bypass but I don't know why.

Ok, for me that was almost as bad as when Dr. Greene died :sad1:

I think last season's "breaks" were because of the writer's strike.

The injuries, at first didn't seem really serious - he was in the front, had a broken leg and some jaw pain. He directed the other docs at the beginning of his treatment! Something happened after he was intubated - his throat swelled and they had to do a procedure that could cause a stroke, etc. or else he would die - Neela did the procedure, and they did everything, but there was too much oxygen lost. I think they thought an air embolism. I wonder if his intubation (he had too much blood for them to tube him normally, so Oscar did the thing directly into the trachea) had something to do with the problem that caused his death. Strange that his father never made an appearance on tonight's show, and that Oscar had the engagement ring he had in his pocket, and gave it to his gf after the funeral, which was a week after his death.

Oh, and does anyone else remember that Oscar failed his medical boards? I wonder if that will come up this season.

The big guy was acting kind of strangely tonight, more strange than usual. I wonder if something is up with him.

Have to admit, I got a little misty eyed over tonight's show!

OMG I cried!!!!

The big guy & Pratt always had a tumultous relationship argueing back & forth and now that Pratt dies his true smooshy self is showing through :sad1: What a sad beginning to the new season. As a person who's watched since episode 1 I am sad to see the show "over" and them tying up loose ends of what happens to everyone. When Morris gave the girlfriend the engagement ring :guilty: I have to say it was well written and acted out and IMO better than alot of there past couple seasons shows.

I was crying too. I had a love/hate relationship with Pratt at times but he was turning into a really good guy.

So it was from the ambulance explosion, right?

Yes. It didn't appear outwardly that he was seriously hurt but being right next to the explosion seriously messed up his inards - they couldn't intubate him and them he got some kind of air pocket in his neck that started to blow up and then they thought he made have had an air bubble (embolism) go to his brain. They tested him for brain function and found him to be both brain dead and his heart was no longer functioning on his own so he was on bypass.

Anthony edwards will be reprizing his role as mark greene in one eppisode this season. IT was in the tv guide last week

I have never missed an episode over the years, but I have to say, it's been a long time since an episode moved me as much as last nite's did..it was like the 'old' ER, I had tears in my eyes for half the show, and a box of kleenex ready. It was nice to see a touch of the class the show used to have, over the years, it got a little bizarre at times.
I am glad that they are going to bring back some of the old cast, Noah Wyle was always a favorite of mine, and of course Anthony Edwards was one of the best ever on ER. I would love it if they could get Juliana Margolies and George Clooney on to reprise their characters one last time, but I am afraid that's one wish that's not going to come true before the show takes it's last curtain call
It will be a show that I will miss a lot!

I was SOBBING last night!! I have not cried like that for a TV show in a LONG time!! What got me was when they were suctioning out Pratt's throat, and he had the tears rolling down his face. I lost it then. I have been a fan of Pratt for a long time. Then when Morris gave the ring to Betina, that got me, too.

Okay, regarding Frank, what is happening with him. Something was different with him at the end, right down to him taking a shot when they were at Ike's. I wonder what is going to come from that...

Bring on this season!! I think it is going to be wonderful!!!

:sad1: It was sooooooooooo sad !
I was bawling :sad1: I'm so sad that he was the one to go. He wasn't my favorite when he first came on but he grew on me and I thought that episode was very sad.

OSCAR? Uhhh, you mean...ARCHIE? ;) I couldn't figure out who the heck OSCAR was and realized you meant Dr. Archie Morris.

When I figured out they were going to kill off Pratt I just :sad2: and thought yet another ER stunt, and refused to be upset. Well, that went by the wayside, I ended up bawling, like I always do with the sad episodes.

They definitely are foreshadowing something with Jerry, and I'll also be sad to see Abby leave. I'm glad they at least are saying she and Luka are happy, even though they are not showing it.

I actually enjoyed ER more than Grey's last night. I was never a huge Pratt fan, but I still got choked up. Really well done. I also love the way Morris has changed and grown. He was such a joke in the beginning. I had forgotten that he failed.

As much as Pratt was a love/hate type of guy, I was quite sad to see him die.

I thought Frank was a recovering alcoholic? If I recalled that right, him taking a shot last night may lead to a bigger storyline for him.

Looking forward to getting Carter back. I've said it before, but I read something about the main writer wanting to end the show with him running the ER, so it is possible that may happen.

I hope they bring back a lot of the old people, even if for a quick cameo. (would be a great tie-in with Carter)

:lmao: Oscar, Archie... didn't you know who I meant?! :rotfl2:

I really don't like that they're making him into a leader/hero - there's the little matter of him failing the med boards, and he also got caught smoking pot by the guy who got smashed by the helicopter - he got away with it because his boss got killed before he could punish him! He has such drama - all the kids from his sperm donor days, then his conversion when the christian nurse came in a season or so ago... it's like he has always been searching, trying to figure himself out. Strange that he is now stepping up as the leader. But I don't really see anyone else who could.

I'm excited about this season, even though it is to be the last. This show has done really well, rotating stars in and out, bringing them back from time to time.
