Final and Complete Trip Report with Photos Updated 1/29 page 13

we looking at these possible ARD choices for dinning (we are planning on DDP for the 4 days while at BLT):

1. Le Cellier - We love this place
2. Tutto Italia Ristorante - we have heard nothing but good about this place.
3. Crystal Palace - We hope to get a table so we can see the castle lighting
4. Chef Mickey's - breakfast - this is the plan for the day we leave
5. Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House -breakfast before a couple massage?? :confused3
6. Boma–Flavors of Africa - breakfast before a couple massage??:confused3

Have you already made ADRs yet? We looked at trying to move a few of ours (due to the afore mentioned MSEP magicalness :cloud9: ) and found availablity very, very scarce since they opened up free dining for that time period. If you haven't made them yet, perhaps availablity (or lack there of) at the restaurants you want will help make the decisions for you....

We're going to have our first DVC trip around the same time you're going, bringing a friend of mine for the first time as well, so I'm VERY intersted in how yours is shaking out as well! I can relate! )

Two quick things ... rumors (or maybe more than rumors) is that Le Cellier is going to be TWO dining credits for dinner! That makes it a little tough. I really like the place, but not sure it's worth 2 credits. :confused3
Secondly, if you get CL at AKV be sure to do the Sunrise Safari. It is excellent (and you get your safari breakfast as well! )
Have a BLAST!

The Le Cellier 2ts credits for dinner isn't supposed to kick in until March '11, so you should still be ok in Dec :thumbsup2

I'm in. Am I first? Tell us all about it.
Thank You

I LOVE adult trips...I love family trips....I love ALL the DVC trips!! :thumbsup2 Sounds like fun! I'm subbing....
Thank You

:) DH and I do not have children so we always do Disney child free. I am sure there are many poistives and a few negatives with not bringing the kids. So who are youleaving behind? We love Pop, too and bought at AKV last year. We are going to stay 12/01-12/10 this year. Our first night though will be at Pop, due to our recent decision to take an evening flight--so we are going a day before our DVC trip.

Count me in--subbing now!:yay:
Thank You

We enjoy WDW when it is "Just the two of Us" and when it is the 7 of us!
Thank You

I'm in too. Dh and I did an adults only 3 nights when I was pregnant with dd3. It was also one of the best things we ever did.
We are planning another trip for this Jan for he and I. Can't wait. WDW is so much fun as adults.

Hope you have a great time.
Thank You

My DH and I are on our second child free trip this year. Have fun planning, but then again this trip, we're sort of going along day by day.
Thank You

Count me in!

With the exception of when I myself was a child, all of my trips have been adults only too. :) DH and I can't have kids, but that allows us plenty of Dec. travel time, when the kids are in school! ;) We'll also be there Nov 30 - Dec 10 this year with our roommate and my dad!

Can't wait to see what your PTR has in store! I've enjoyed many of your other posts before, so I'm excited to follow along on this one :) (My hasband has "that" shirt - a few of them - guess who bought them for him?:thumbsup2)
Thank You

Dh and I have been empty nesters for 12 years now and we love our adult only trips. We enjoyed our family trips too, but have just as much fun by ourselves and/or with friends.
Thank You

DH and I are going on an adult's only trip this October - our first trip as DVC members. We are so excited. We were just sent the map showing the course for the F&W 1/2 marathon. Can't wait to run in the parks. We have great dinner reservations and can spend time just relaxing at the resort. We're not that mean though - we're taking the kids over Spring Break and staying in a THV. Can't wait for that either. Two DW vacations booked - what else can a girl ask for?:thumbsup2
Thank You

If your prior experience was at value resorts, no wonder you hate the buses. Try them at akv, you'll like them.
Thank You

My Dh and I are going for the first time since have kids in October to celebrate our 18th anniversary and are so excited to take our time and smell the roses at the parks and have a meal that we can truly enjoy ,come June the 8 of us will go again and it will be fun to show the kids the things that we saw that we miss when we are all together.:woohoo::banana::yay:
Thank You

We have gone just the two of us and had a wonderful time, with a 7 year old and had a wonderful time, and with our grown daughter and had a wonderful time. I think that's what's so great about WDW - it really is a great vacation for everyone. Next week DH and I are going with our 30 year old daughter for 5 days and then 5 days just the two of us. There's plenty to do for all 10 days and we're all bouncing off the walls excited!
Thank You

Looking forward to your TR.popcorn::

We love our family trips but adults-only ones are so nice. DH and I went twice last year ( 3 nights in March and 3 in December). It was nice to take things at our pace whether that meant racing from ride to ride or strolling through the parks and resorts taking it all in. Fun for us to take a turn at being the kids.
Thank You

Believe it or not, you will enjoy it MORE.:thumbsup2
Thank You

Thank you everyone. I will do my best to answer and questions you might have.

We have all of are ADR's made (I try to plan as far out as possible). We made a few back up plans for just in case and now i'm glad of the "just in case". We are taking things day by day. We made 2 plans and from that we are putting together on heck of a trip. It's all planned for 2 people and now that DW BFF is going, it just makes it that much more fun!!

As for Le Cellier, If it goes to 2TS meal:confused3, then we will more then likely drop it from our plans in the future (to most, it's not worth 2TS right now). We have places we love and enjoy eating at. Our next trip in 2012 is looking to be a QSDP.

Anyone else out there like to have your kids watch School house rock and quiz them afterwards?

I'm only a Bill, yes I'm only a Bill...sitting here on Capital Hill, well it's off to the Senate....... Lollie, Lollie, Lollie get your adverbs here. Yep I am part of the Original School House Rock Generation. The other day my 16 year old niece couldn't believe I knew all the words to the Journey song she was singing. Should have seen her face when I told her I had seen them in concert three times..:rotfl: Have to ask is there a new School House Rock...no kids in our house, so had to ask.

Not into sports but love the pics and comments.....enjoying your PTR.

Conjunction, junction what's your function???

:cool1: "Wonder Twin Powers...activate...form of a bucket, shape of a rope." :cool2: Gee I am really dating myself. OK for those of you who weren't here in the 70's and early 80's, I apologize for the above quote. :cutie:

Ahhhhhhh. Real cartoons. Oh wait, today they call it, "Anime":rotfl2:

OOoh! Can we do HR Pufnstuf next? Witchiepoo for Mayor? Anybody? :confused3 :rotfl::hippie:
I'll second the vote.

Again, I have been so busy as all get up. Have to admit, getting DD's ready for scholl is fun for me and "HELL" for them. I guess it's all of the "stuff" their friends are telling them:sad2:. Who knows anymore. Back in the good ol' days we didn't need cell phones and "texting". Back then we went outside and played.

Too many people out there are looking for the "magic weight loss pill". I just keep saying.........get up off your a$$ and exercise. In the 70's and 80's we were never as "LAZY" as the people are today. It's Gimmi Gimmi Gimmi or me me me or better yet, my favorite answer, Why should I?:headache:.

Well school starts this week for most of KY (I know a few county's have already started school), so watch out for the kids walking around with there MP3 players cranked up or too busy texting while walking/driving:sad2:

I'll try to update the PTR this week. Thank you EVERYONE for following along!!

Sorry for anyone who has been waiting for an update. With school rolling and working on the outside of the house (it's been warmer and more humid then normal). And..........ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL? Well, this will be the first "Official" update.

We now have our ADR's:banana: With the last minute change of MSEP:thumbsup2, we had to adjust the trip. I remember when it was at DLR. Never saw it, but I remember it. Here is the planned dinning:

Day 1: A real BBQ. Yes on a grill!! We are having Hot dogs, burgers and baked beans:rolleyes1 (don't say a word:rotfl2:)

Day 2: Relaxing day!! most meals planned in the room. With DVC now, we can "relax" while on vacation. No more rush rush rush!!

Day 3: Breakfast at AK. Tusker house We can't wait!! Dinner back at the room.

Day 4: Pancakes and sausage for breakfast and dinner at a CS for dinner.

Day 5: Breakfast and dinner at MK. Dinner at Crystal Palace 5:30 ADR

Day 6: Breakfast in the room and dinner at MK. CP again:woohoo: 7:25 pm

Day 7: Dinner at Tutto Italia Ristorante. 7 pm ADR

Day 8: Le Cellier:love: 8 pm

Day 9: This is a sad day:sad1:. We are having our final breakfast at Chef Mickey's.:goodvibes

This is going to be a great Adult's only vacation. 116 days til we arrive.:yay:

Real cartoons and kids shows. Not the junk we have today:laughing:. When I was a kid, I remember they said the Road runner was "violent". :lmao: I just those groups have yet to look at todays video games or cartoons.:confused3

WOW almost 2 months since I have said any thing.:confused3 Sorry. Been so busy. Well a few things and changed since my last report. %2 day til we leave:woohoo::lovestruc:wizard:

I'm typing more so look out for it.:thumbsup2

We once again sit down to let other know what's going on. So where were we? Oh yeah, I was working on a dinning plan. Let's see, We have done a little tweaking to the dining plan. Minor adjustments to plan since there will be MSEP and Osbourne lights to look at.

Day 1. Looks like a BBQ poolside is going to happen here. Spend time poolside and maybe sneak off to AK for some quick fun with a few rides. Why not. It's still a vacation right?

Day 2. Breakfast in room and get meatloaf ready for dinner. Get couples massage at AKL . Then have a meatloaf dinner before heading to DTD for an amazing time to see La Nouba :woohoo:. What a wonderful show.

Day 3. This is our Anniversary. 9 wonderful years!! So we are planning on spending the day at DHS. Head over in the morning, right a few rides til we want to leave, head back back to AKV have dinner then head back to DHS for evening EMH.

Day 4. Breakfast at AK at Tusker house. Enjoy the day at AK til close.

Day 5. Moving day:love: BLT here we come. after we check in to BLT, we plan on heading to MK if room isn't ready, if it is ready, head for MK later in the day since we have a 5 PM ADR at CP. This is also a MVMCP day. We doubt if it will sellout and will wait to see if we want to go. If not we will watch Christmas Wishes from on top of BLT.

Day 6. Wake up early to go eat breakfast at CP. Since this isn't a MVMCP night we will be able to watch MSEP and Wishes.

Day 7. Breakfast in the room and its off to Epcot. Today we plan on "drinking around the world"!! Yes I will video this because I will be the designated walker LOL. Well, I plan on drinking a beer or 2. We have a 7 pm ADR at Tutto Italia Ristorante. Then pick out a spot for Illuminations.

Day 8. Late start to the day. We plan on eating a light breakfast in the room and then head for Epcot to enjoy WS again. Finish off the day with a late dinner at Le Cellier at 8 pm. Then finish off the day with Epcot's night time EMH.

Day 9. :sad1: Time to head home. Drive about 900 miles. Good thing is we will have a final breakfast at CM. Can't really think of a better way to end our first DVC vacation and our 2nd adult's only vacation.

Thank you for waiting!!

Seems like the price of the rental car is going down the closer to the trip we get. We hope that the cost drops below $250. The rental cost was almost $500 when we first booked a car back in April. We are planning on going to La Nouba is we get a discount code or save some more money. We just in case planned for the price of gas at $3.50 a gallon. Better safe then sorry right?

Since it looks like no one is reading my PTR. I guess i'll just stop. Thank you everyone who did read at first.

I'm sure people are reading it! I am! I know that I, personally, read a lot of trip reports but I don't always comment. I'm sure thats the case with others as well.:)

That's exactly what I told him Athenna. He had such a long gap between posts that a few people lost interest but now he's got to get back into it. 2038 disers have looked at the thread so it hasn't been totally ignored.

I will add the next installment right now by reporting that we somehow managed to get FRONT ROW seat for La Nouba :dance3:This is what I am giving my BFF as her Christmas gift this year :santa:. I hope she will be suprised. She's never been to WDW so I'm trying to make plans so that she can experience Disney pixiedust: and have lots of relaxing time to just veg by the pool with a cold one. She is :hourglass counting the minutes until we leave as are DH and myself.

I've never been so ready for a vacation in all of our Disney years. Not only is it our first trip as DVC members, and first trip since 2008, but I went back to school last Aug., to finish my nursing degree, and it's been a VERY, VERY, VERY, long year . I need my Disney fix badly. So far I've almost picked up every item on the "things we need to get" prior to the trip list and I've written a grocery list and placed it in the Passporter so I know it will be with us.

We still haven't decided on wether to use Garden Grocer or just stop at Walmart on our way into town. Any suggestions and/or comments? I'm thinking that Walmart would probably be the least expensive and offer a larger variety of choices but since this is our first DVC trip I'm not sure.

I have already joined Owners Locker and am looking forward to leaving lots of items for future trips. There should be a lot more space in the :car: on the way home. These boards have been so helpful when it comes to ideas of what to leave in the purple box.

Last week DH and I made our t-shirts that we will all wear for our Drinking Around the World at Epcot :drinking1, and we actually have decided to do 2 back to back days so it will be drinking around 1/2 the world each day, that way we don't end up to hammered and .

Well I guess that's all of the current updates that I can think to add to DH's pre trippy. I will give him a poke and get him back to doing updates. This is suppost to be his PTR afterall.

Oh yeah, I have to send back 1 pair of my crocs that I bought for this trip because they are to small :confused3, not sure if I will reorder the right size or not. I may just stick to my new Mary Jane crocs and my older Beach crocs or my tennis shoes. :goodvibes

I have been reading too. I am happy to see Boma off the plan before the couple's massage. Eating a big meal before a massage is not the best idea. ;)
