figmentfan814AAR~LivingSeas~French Is. *I'm back and married! Will start TR soon!*

There have been several things which are starting to come together, so I thought I better catch everyone up. Besides being busy with Christmas we still had to take care of some stuff for Kris' dad plus we starting shopping for a condo! We were going to original rent a loft apartment in our downtown area which is really cool, but since the house market is so bad in Michigan we are thinking about buying something instead. We have looked at some really great condos that are a real steal. Unfortunately, the bad economic times which have hit a lot of families hard are going to be a big help for us to get a great deal.

Our invitations came in right before Christmas too. Here are some pictures:

The wording for the reception card is as follows:

I’m not sure if I mentioned this before, but my mom wanted to learn how to do calligraphy to address the invitations. We signed her up for classes at JoAnn Fabrics, but they have been cancelled several times in the last six months and she hasn’t been able to take one yet. My mom’s best friend’s daughter, Emily, who is one of my hostesses was up visiting from Indiana and guess what? We found out that she knows how to do calligraphy! She did all the invitations for me before she left to go home. I am so thankful that she is willing to help. I had bought a calligraphy set and was going to see what I could learn while I’m off work until New Year’s, but thankfully I didn’t have to worry about it. :cool1:

Now, I'm just waiting for my stamps that I ordered from Zazzle. According to the tracking they will be here by tomorrow.

I love the personalised invites!
I just went to check out zazzle.com, that is so cool that you can get personalised stamps - I wonder if there is any UK site that does this? You have thought of so many little details, I want to be that organised! I'm definitely going to try and investigate the stamp thing further......
I love your Christmas outfit you're wearing where you're opening your invites!!

when you order from zazzle which stamps need to be ordered for a wedding invitation? I am just trying to price different options.

I actually took my entire invitations with all the inserts to the post office and had them weigh it for me. I ended up needing the 58 cent ones, but I think it depends on your individual invitation.

Thanks, I was actually all decked out because I was volunteering that day with the Salvation Army which does toy distribution for needy families in the area. I was helping parents pick out toys for their kids, so I was all decked out :santa: I'm just hoping my guests recognize all the little details. I also ran to the post office late last night to get the December 31, 2007 postmark on the invitations, we'll see if anyone notices!

I thought I would give some additional updates of what I was able to accomplish while I was off over the holiday. Besides completing and sending out the invitations, I was productive on a number of other fronts. First, we got the labels printed off and attached to all of our welcome bags; I also finished all of our place cards; worked on another newsletter; and got pictures assembled for our display board at the wedding.

I bought a really cute display for weddings that folds up at Hallmark. The box was a little damaged so they gave it to me for half off. I had wanted it for a while, but didn't want to spend $35 on it. We are still waiting for a couple of pictures from when Kris was younger to finish off the display then I will post pictures.

First, the place cards- I was able to get my bridesmaid, Patriece, to come over this past weekend to help me glue on the rest of the jewels for the Mickey heads and to print off all the names. I only had 10 out of 65 assembled, so she was a great help. We decided to wait to slide the names in because I still haven’t done the seating chart yet, so I figured it would be easier to put them together when I was attaching their table names to the back. I was going to have the names done in calligraphy, but after the fiasco with that I decided to use the Waltograph font.

For the actual table name I am going to print them off on clear return address labels that can be affixed to the back of the place cards. The labels will have the name of the move- Peter Pan, Cinderella, etc. and a small graphic. I am just naming them after the movies that way it will be easy for people to find their seats. I thought about naming them after songs for the movies, but thought that might get too complicated.

I bought the place cards at the dollar store with 6 to a pack and spent about $10 on other miscellaneous supplies, so I have only about $20 into everything.

Here are the stamps from Zazzle that went on the invitations. In the picture we're sitting in front of the American Adventure where our ceremony will take place. I have a better close-up that I will upload tonight:

These are some pictures of Emily (she is one of my hostesses) working on the calligraphy. She really did a great job and was a lifesaver

Emily’s mom and my mom have been best friends since kindergarten; here they are assembling the invitations:

I have only one page left to finish on my 5 page newsletter, so hopefully I can get that posted soon too. Also, last night I put together my invitations to mail to Mickey and Minne at the California address :mickeyjum and one to send to the President. I printed off the addresses a long time ago and almost forgot about mailing them!

I also don't know if I mentioned it or not, but Kris and I started private dance lessons while he was up over Christmas. I left the song up to Kris, I figured I would make him do something for the wedding ;)

He ended up picking out this song by Barry White of all people. We are actually dancing to a slower version that is sung by a female vocalist. It still is a little fast, but we're learning faster paced steps like the Fox Trot.

The song is You're the First, the Last, My Everything:rockband::

We got it together, didn't we?
Nobody but you and me.
We got it together, baby.

My first, my last, my everything,
And the answer to all my dreams.
You're my sun, my moon, my guiding star.
My kind of wonderful, that's what you are.

I know there's only, only one like you
There's no way they could have made two.
You're, you're all I'm living for
Your love I'll keep for evermore.
You're the first, my last, my everything.

In you I've found so many things,
A love so new, only you could bring.
Can't you see if you,
You'll make me feel this way,
You're like a first morning dew on a brand new day.

I see so many ways that I can love you,
'Till the day I die....
You're my reality, yet I'm lost in a dream.
You're my first, my last, my everything.

[instrumental]

I know there's only one, only one like you
There's no way they could have made two.
Girl, you're my reality.
But I'm lost in a dream,
You're the first, you're the last, my everything.

Everything looks great - you are my inspiration. By the way - love that song. It has a great disco beat - can you tell I am a product of the 70's - I love disco. I am sure it will be great dancing to a slower version of it.

We have not picked out our song yet and would love to take dance lessons. Definately something to think about.

Linda

Wow! Everything looks so beautiful! And so professional! You must be thrilled.
And what a great song. The words are wonderful!

Wowee! You are getting so much done - great job! You will be my inspiration...

You know, I sent an invite to Donald & Daisy about 3 months ago but haven't heard back. Maybe only Mickey & Minnie reply to invites? :sad1:
