Cindy's Mom said:Babar, I respectfully disagree with you. The few Macy's stores I've been in have been quite shabby; and their Sunday ads in the Sun Sentinal (my parents live in Delray Beach, FL) are very cheap and tacky.
I am sick about the name change - Macy's has ignored all pleas from Chicagoans not to change the name. Chicagoans are funny like that, we are a big city, Fields is Chicago and to mess with one of our own is not going to go over well. I realize that people won't boycott Macy's because (if left unchanged) the State Street store is extraordinary - I just wish there was a way to let Macy's know how much Fields means to us.
I've only been to the one in New York, so I could be wrong. There are petitions and stuff now, contact the news websites, they are recording comments received.....let Daley know!!
Come on Chicago...save our name!!!
I mean, Macy's is associated with NYC, Field's is with Chicago......It's an insult.

My condolences to you Fields fans.
