Fidelity 3/18

I was told by Fidelity on Wed that at that point they couldn't guarantee that a contract would make it to ROFR b/c everything had to be in by 5PM on Friday - the last day they were open before the change. On Wednesday I called an agent I was working with back at approx 5:01 PM and she was gone for the day - no lingering around there!
WOW!

I have to say, I'm just amazed...

i get that DVC is only a small piece of their total timeshare business, but this seems like an odd business move that could hurt their selling clients and cost them brokerage fees. The other two main DVC players are working this weekend. Timeshare Store, with their regular weekend hours and DVC by Resale was processing paperwork to beat the 3/20 deadline this weekend.

True and i am amazed about their lack of trying to help get things in at the wire.

If I had a listing that I hoped to have every chance of selling I'd be a bit PO'd. In fact one of those listing probably would have been bought if there had been more assurance of it getting done. :sad2:

I totally agree, this is the weekend they should be there!:sad2:

I have to say that I have been generally happy with Fidelity, we are in ROFR since 2/24 on a BCV contract. However, I emailed Wednesday about a BWV contract that was app ealing, and got a very matter-of-fact reply indicating that I had to act right away b/c they were not going to be getting anything to Disney after Wednesday. I didn't think too much of it at the time, considering that I know the process can take a few days; however, I have received DVC by Resale and TTS emails since then, as recently as late last night, saying "We might be able to get it in if you hurry!" I don't want to say Fidelity talked me out of anything, but they didn't encourage me either. No follow up, no selling, just a prompt email. I was also told that none of their contracts are coming back from ROFR in under 30 days, and since I know this to not be true, I assume they are sitting on answers just so they don't have too much going on at once. That really bothers me.
With regards to the BWV contract, I had to do some work Wednesday and my wife was traveling. If I had been given until Thursday, which coincidentally was when my wife and I finally discussed it, we would have made an offer. If I had received a call on Thursday from Fidelity saying, "If you're interested we might be able to get this in!", I would have made an offer. So, in my opinion, they did not do justice to that seller. When I see the effort being put forth by the other shops, I think I'd be pretty upset if I had a listing with Fidelity to sell. They essentially gave up 72 hours before the other guys.

so far so good has been my buying experience with fidelity. we made offer on 3/15, signed contract 3/16 (sellers signed 3/17). went to disney for rofr thursday 3/17.

they did say 30 days for rofr and 60 to close. i guess i expected some delays with the mad rush for 3/20 and thusly adjusted my expectations. i really dont care as long as it all happens. i will just be as patient as i can. hopefully everything will go as smooth the rest of the way.

My buying experience has been fine as well. However, I was commiserating with the notion that sellers clearly got the shaft if they were selling through Fidelity and they had contracts lingering until the end of the week. While DVC by Resale and TTS were burning the midnight oil and pushing their listings until just hours ago, Fidelity stopped trying on Wednesday.
I guess what I'm saying is, I'm glad I was a Fidelity buyer a month ago, and not a Fidelity seller this week.

I know many of you have read my previous posts about fidelity, so, I won't rehash it, but, I really hope when we go to add on next year they one of the other resalers have a contract we want, I do not want to deal with them again. Especially after all the great things I heard about the other firms. I was very impressed with the emails I received over the last few days, I know who I will use if I ever need to sale!

They really should have been open through the weekend. I am sure they must have lost business by not being open.

Not to mention future buisness.I'm truely disappointed they weren't open over the weekend, and i already passed on 3/14.

I just hope their closing company is properly staffed because I have a feeling this is going to be a verrrrry long process!

We just purchased from Fidelity, and the closing company they had us go with was fabulous! They responded very quickly with any questions.

we passed ROFR with a Fidelity contract on march 15 which would have been day 33. I'm assuming we had passed earlier but had to wait until they could get around to emailing the news.

I emailed Fidelity to get the contact info for the closing company and called them today. The person who is my contact for the closing is off this week!

I left a message saying that we would be away all next week and would not have access to a means of wiring money. I explained that I can wire $$ up until 3pm on Saturday march 26 otherwise it would have to wait until april 5!! I have not been contacted since I left the message.

no one else seems concerned so I won't be either. but I do feel bad for the seller. I really thought this would have been a done deal by now.

I also purchased a resale at BWV thru Fidelity. Made offer 3/16, sent contract back 3/17, received confirmation that is was sent to Disney for rofr 3/18. I never felt rushed at any point. I believe there are only 2 people working on their Disney resale and they were overwhelmed with the deadline. Shame on Fidelity as a company if they didn't give them help.

Also I did ask if they would be open over the weekend of 3/19 and was told NO. ??????

I like Fidelity, but I feel that people are spending a lot of money on contracts and they did not do everything they could to make sure it gets to ROFR before the deadline. They should have worked through the weekend.

I am sure they are fabulous. I have dealt with the closing co. TSS uses who were also great, my concern now is ALL the contracts that need to be closed!:scared1: TSS told us on the contract we are selling will take 12 days to get closing paper work (in the past it was 2 days) because of how many have to be processed! I would have to assume all closing companies are swamped then the swamped status will move to dvc loading the contracts!

The contract we are purchasing is about 3 weeks behind the one we sold, even scarier!:surfweb:
