IHave a few questions; nothing important but I am filling out my planning sheet as I have been told I am 'cutting it fine' even though the wedding is 5 months away!?
I have had problems with my co-ordinator and don’t feel that I can ask him reasonable questions let alone some petty ones. I thought I would ask my friends at DIS! (I am still waiting after nearly four weeks for a response to my 'more important' questions.

If the wedding is at 2pm, what time do I get the limo to pick us up? There are 18 of us so the limo will have to make two trips; I know it only holds 8 each trip but to save a third trip I thought I would ask 3/4 of the guests to share a car or pay for a town car/taxi for them or do you think I should do three trips? We are staying at POR so I am not sure how far away the Wedding Pavilion is from there?

As we are having an intimate, there is no rehearsal is there?

How far in advance do you have to get your marriage licence? I want to get it the day before the wedding as we are only in Disney two days before we are married.

I am sure I will think of a few more but I am in the middle of an assignment for university!

Thank you in advance :thumbsup2

Not sure on your limo question.
There is no rehearsal but I didn't find it to be a problem. Our EM walked us through everything.
We got our marriage license through the mail, that way we didn't need to take time to go to the courthouse. I think it cost us $125 to do this and there is a company that does it for you. I'm drawing a blank on the name right now but I'm sure someone else will know what it is.

Unless you feel sure that you are otherwise going to use your 4 hours of limo service, I wouldn't hesitate to have the limo make as many trips as you need to get people to the ceremony. Our vow renewal was at 4. The limo picked up my DH and DS and my in-laws at the Contemporary at 3:15. At around 3:30/3:35, he picked up me, DD, DS#2, my sister and my niece at the Beach Club. My sister and brother-in-law were staying offsite, so she came to help me get ready and he drove to the Wedding Pavilion with their other children and parked there. They were originally going to stay at Pop and we were going to have the limo pick them up as well--another party of 4, so he would have needed 3 trips.

After the ceremony, he made two trips to the GF (brother-in-law drove) to get everyone to Commander's Terrace. Since we then had dinner at the GF, we weren't done in time to use the limo to get us back to our resorts. So we actually only used the limo from about 3:15-5:15, thereby wasting about 2 hours of our limo service. Depending on your situation, you may find that you have the extra limo time available to pick up all of your guests.

Also, when you (the bride) are riding in the limo, don't count on having room for 8 people. My dress was not that full, but it did have a train. We had 5 people in the limo, including me and I wouldn't have wanted to have 3 more people in there with me!! There just wouldn't have been enough room.

I don't know about the limo question, but looks like MommyPoppins covered that ;) We were married at WL; my MOH and I, DH, my daddy, and my in-laws stayed at WL and the other guests just drove over for the wedding from their resorts. DH and I used the limo the next night to drive us to dinner and PI.

There is no formal rehearsal. We did a quick "run through" on the WL Sunrise Terrace with just the wedding party and then rehearsal dinner the night before. Mainly I wanted everyone to know where they had to be and when to be there. The next day our EM took care of everything and Rev. Jack was wonderful - no rehearsal needed!

In FL, unless you are a FL resident and don't take the premarital course, there is no waiting period, so you could get your license the day before, but I've heard about lots of brides doing it by mail like D&RloveDisney said. Search the boards for "marriage license" and there should be a post about the company that does that for you. I think it would be worth the money to not have to fit that into your day.

BTW, my EM was slow to answer some questions too, and close to the wedding day I was all sorts of concerned - but it was absolutely perfect - no glitches, no problems, everything went so well I was amazed, as were our guests. DFTW knows what they are doing. Keep sending your EM e-mails and you will get answers - Good Luck!!

i stayed at the POR and had a 2pm ceremony the limo picked the everyone else up from the AK lodge at 1pm, then came back for me from the POR at 1.30. its only about 10 minutes to the WP at the most.

Thanks everyone. I think I will use the limo to pick up all of my guests then as we wont be using the limo to get home as will be eating in the Grand Floridian so I guess we wont be leaving until 6 ish. I have heard of the marriage licence through the post, the only thing I was concerned about is that is says it needs to be signed in front of a notary. If anyone from the UK has done this, can you tell me how far in advance did you send this?
Thanks again, just want to sort these planning sheets out so I can relax and let Disney work their magic!

if youve got a couple of spare hours, i'd suggest you just go to the courthouse and do it yourself, it adds to the whole excitement of getting married!!

I am sorry to hear that your co ordinator is unhelpful- can you not ask to change? mine always answers emails and he phoned me yesterday to get some details so he could book a boat trip for me. You shouldn't be worried about details like this because it is his job to help you!!

On the limo question he told me to pick the groom up an hour before and me 1/2 hour before, although we are staying at the Coronado Springs.

Hope you sort everything out
