Hi all!

We're going in late June to OKW. We're renting points from a friend with a definate interest in buying into DVC in the near future. I just have a couple of questions about what acutally is in a 2 bdr villa (mostly kitchen stuff). We're doing a quick stop at a grocery on our way in and need info for the commando grocery run (in under 30 minutes). :)

1st question - Does the coffee maker take cone shaped or flat bottomed filters?

2nd question - Are there only 'real' plates, cups, flatware etc. in the kitchen area? Or are there paper plates/cups/etc...? How many place settings if there is only 'real' stuff

3rd question - When you stay at a WDW resort, they supply disney soaps/lotions/etc. Are these also supplied at the DVC resort?

4th question - Do the kitchens have things like salt/pepper/sugar/etc. Or should I add this to my commando shopping list? How about paper towels/napkins/etc.?

5th (and Last) - Are ADR's really necessary at Olivia's in OKW? Or is it a pretty easy walk into place since it's at the DVC resort.

Thanks for all the assistance!!

I really have no clue what to expect in the cupboards.
This also gives me something to do while counting down the days ...by the way it's only 61 days, 10 hrs to go! :sunny:

Thanks again!!!!

Okay - I'll give this one a stab.

1st question - Does the coffee maker take cone shaped or flat bottomed filters? Sorry - I don't know this one.

2nd question - Are there only 'real' plates, cups, flatware etc. in the kitchen area? Or are there paper plates/cups/etc...? How many place settings if there is only 'real' stuff It's "real" stuff. Don't know the exact number of settings. I would guess 6 or 8?

3rd question - When you stay at a WDW resort, they supply disney soaps/lotions/etc. Are these also supplied at the DVC resort?
Just like the regular resorts - same stuff!

4th question - Do the kitchens have things like salt/pepper/sugar/etc. Or should I add this to my commando shopping list? How about paper towels/napkins/etc.? No sugar (other than maybe a few packets.) We used to have salt & pepper, but I think they took it out. But I believe you can request it from housekeeping.

5th (and Last) - Are ADR's really necessary at Olivia's in OKW? Or is it a pretty easy walk into place since it's at the DVC resort. I don't believe we've ever had to wait for any length of time for Olivia's. But, I normally call ahead and soon as we decide to eat there - even if it's only 20 minutes in advance. I must say, though, we don't eat at real peak times... others may have a different experience... especially for breakfast!

Enjoy OKW - we love it!

1) The coffee maker uses the flat bottom filters.

2) Only "real" plates, if you prefer paper, pick some up when you do your shopping. There will be at least a place setting for the capacity of the villa. A 2 bedroom unit should have at least 8 place settings.

3) There will be a "starter" supply of soaps and shampoo, no hand lotions. They will be replentished on Trash and Towel and full housekeeping days. Personally, I don't like the Disney shampoo/conditioner combo I'd pick some up at the store, and some laundry soap, too, if you'll be using the washer. You only get a "one load" starter box.

4) Salt and pepper, yes. Sugar is in packets, there is usually enough...unless you plan on doing cooking that requires sugar. Then you'll need to pick some up. Paper towels are provided. We usually use them as napkins. If you want "real" napkins, you'll need to buy a package.

5) Olivia's can get busy, but usually does not require an ADR...if you plan to dine at peak times, or have a group size that requires 2 tables (most tables accomodate 4, there are a couple larger tables) you may want to call them a couple hours before hand. If you don't mind a little waiting, you should be OK without an ADR.

They don't supply the salt & pepper anymore.

I rarely use salt & pepper, so I guess I didn't notice when they removed it.
