First arrived early this morning and was getting on magic express. Used magic band and was asked if we needed magic express return trip. I said yes, we had already provided our flights months ago. CM gave me a card and said I had to call the number on the card and set up a return time???? What is this all about? Will just stop at front desk and ask to double check for me.

Next, made purchases at gift shop and used my disney visa. I asked to just make sure for the 10% the CM asked to see my reward card. Said I don't get them anymore I just use the point for airfare. She said without the purple reward card that you transfer points to they can no longer give discount. Told her I will just purchase at DTD.

Other notes. Over at BB summit is completely covered in scaffolding for its annual maintenance and at animal kingdom I have never seem so many walls up. Hope they get a discount on plywood at Home Depot. One good thing, Avatar Land. you can see buildings going up when your coming into the bus loop.. Looks like progress is being made. I will say it would be real nice if they would put an access point to the new area from behind the rain forest cafe but bet that will be a big no way as they will want to make you walk all the way around just for the fun of it.

Interesting, keep us posted. We leave Sunday and arrive at MCO at 8PM - I was told I should go pick up my luggage - sigh. Only one bag - but, the hassle of going over there and waiting was not what I had in mind.
I also planned on using my Disney Visa card for 10% off - but, I thought it was only at certain locations - like the parks and DTD?

I had the same thing happen in regards to the return trip with Magical Express. I had called months prior to arriving and gave them all of my info.

Just call the number and give them the info again. It doesn't take long. I don't know why they do that. :confused3 It is aggravating.

You do have to show the disney visa when wanting the 10% discount - and you normally have to spend 50.00 to get it.
Only certain stores offer it.

I'm not surprised at DME - the last time I used them I had to give them my pickup flight number and time twice before they actually got it. No idea why it didn't stick in the system.

Hope the rest of your trip goes well!

That's a little disturbing. We might have our purple reward card sometimes, but only if we've actually redeemed points, which doesn't really seem like it has anything whatsoever to do with the normal 10% discount for having the actual Visa card itself (with the $50 spending minimum as noted by someone else). We're heading down this weekend, and I had no plans to take the separate reward card...might stick it in my wallet just in case!

1. We received a DME booklet at home before we left for our trip. It listed both our flight to Orlando and our return flight. Perhaps because you used the MB at MCO, the CM wanted to make sure that you had a return DME trip booked since you didn't have a booklet he could glance at. You can call DME or check with the concierge desk to verify your return DME res.

2. Whenever we've used the Disney Visa we've never been told we need to have the rewards card as well as the Visa card. As long as we were at a store that participates in the 10% discount and our purchase met the minimum $ amount required we received the discount. Sounds like the CM was confused.

3. We noticed all the walls up at AK especially around the Tree and along the river. We assumed that because they are working on the river much of it was blocked from view, but it sure did take away from ambiance and atmosphere to be confronted with so many walls.

I did purchase more then $50 (of course) and was using the card to pay for the purchase. I was just a bit surprise as what would one have with the other. I did explain I don't use the reward card as I just put them on for the airfare. She said she would get a manager to approve it for me I just did not have the time to wait. It was a bit busy and knew it was going to take longer then I wanted to wait. I can pick up the items downtown or later on. Just to say why would yo need to show the reward card that is the part that makes no sense to me.

I was at AK in October and they had walls up then but many more this time. All through the park not just around the river. So much new construction going on it will be nice to be able to experience the finish product.

Yes it does seem like the CM was confused. You get 10% off in a lot of places! and it never hurts to ask!

If the CM seems confused, I'd definitely ask another CM or supervisor to step in and help, because it's pretty basic. Also, no need to give up 10% when you're already spending so much to go! and that's likely not the only purchase you'll make!

It does sound as if the CM was not sure of the process, but the CM did offer to get a Manager to approve it. The OP decided she didn't want to wait to take advantage of the discount and opted to leave. That was the OP's decision. Not real sure why she is complaining.

You have to call to book your return trip on the magical express now? Didn't it used to be that it was already a prearranged time and location?

In every disney merchandise location you get 10% when:

1. Your total is greater than the $50 requirement
2. You have either the Disney Visa or Disney Visa Rewards Card with you
3. You have your photo I.D. (We're supposed to ask for ID for any credit purchase over $50 and when applying any discount. Doesn't always happen.)
4. You pay the entirety of the order with your Disney visa or the rewards card or a combo of the two.

Thanks all.
I recently got the Disney Visa credit card and did not know you get 10% off if you spend over $50.:thumbsup2

We're going to the world next month and I will be sure to bring it.
Also, sorry, don't mean to get OT but I've been meaning to ask this and keep forgetting. Is there some place in, I think, the American Adventure in Epcot, where if you show your Disney Visa card you can get in to some "special" area. I think maybe it's just an area in the American Adventure where you can rest or something??

Thanks,

Karen :)

I don't think they have that anymore, but not completely sure.

There's a picture spot in Innoventions. You have to show your card, and you get to meet with 2 of the fab 5 characters. You also get a 5x7 print of the picture of your choice from that photo session (or another photo if you don't like any of them).

I think why you're referring to is something that happens during Food & Wine.

It is by the American Adventure, and it was still there in October. At least, people on the Dis told me it was there, but I never bothered to use it. It is (was?) a rest area where you could also recharge any electronics you have along.

Thanks all.

The room in American Adventure is only available during the Food and Wine Festival.

OP - just beware, once when asking for my Disney Visa 10% off at Capt. Grille, the server told me they didn't do the discount there, that Visa did it and it would appear on my statement. Well, after a week of dining, thinking this was the case, lo and behold, she was incorrect and I never received my dining discounts. A lot of CM's just aren't well-versed in the Disney Visa perks and discounts. You sound like you are, so just be polite and insistent! :)

Today the fast pass for space mountain was 28 minutes. Now in the fast pass for buzz light year and it starts near the entrance and goes down to the laugh floor and back even before going inside. Been waiting about 15 minutes and looks like another 15 before getting on. 30 minutes for a fast pass. Stand by just said 45 minutes how does this make any sense. I think someones math is off and fast pass should be renamed to just 10 minutes shorter line. This is crazy.

Now they just removed the times both from the app and the sign above the stand by line. Maybe it's broke it can't go that high. The good news park just announced its stating open till midnight
