Fell in LOVE with Vero Beach

This summer I tried to make a reservation for our December/January WDW trip and couldn't get a room on Disney property for the whole stay. The CM talked me into booking at Vero for 5 of the nights. I was very hesitant to book there and up until the very day we left for the resort, I didn't want to go! I wanted to be at Disney the whole time and thought Vero would be boring.

WOW was I wrong! We had the most fabulous 5 nights at Vero. The 5 of us were in connecting Ocean View Inn rooms (2409 and 2410). The rooms were absolutely gorgeous and in perfect immaculate condition. We fell asleep every night to the waves crashing right outside our balcony. We rented DVD's and games, walked on the beach, went to the campfire, and soaked up the sun. Our time at Vero couldn't have been more perfect.

I celebrated my 23d birthday on New Year's Eve at Sonya's and the New Year's pool party at Vero. The whole evening, I was just thinking about how lovely secluded Vero was compared to the crowded parks on New Year's.

When I look back on our vacation, the nights spent at Vero just seem like a dream. It was so perfect, I couldn't have even imagined it! What a wonderful experience! I can't say enough good things about this resort.

Aren't surprises wonderful? Your trip sounds heavenly- I can't wait to try Vero! What was the weather like? Did they have lots of activities during the day, or was it scaled back? How full was the resort and Vero in general?

We got very lucky with the weather. It was between 78 and 80 everyday except our last day. It certainly wasn't warm enough for me to get in the ocean but there were plenty of kids in there! The pool was plenty warm and it was perfect pool lounging weather! On our last day it was about 60 degrees and storming. We still had a great time! It was fun to walk on the beach and see the huge waves. We ordered a pizza to the room and played games.

They had activities by the pool everyday. I may or may not have competed in the pool slide racing contest. They also had many activities throughout the day. We were all adults, so we didn't pay all that much attention to them. I know there were various crafts and dodgeball or kickball games though. There was also the campfire 2 nights that we were there including s'mores....YUM!!!

I actually asked the front desk CM how full the resort was when we were checking in and she said they were near capacity. It never seemed crowded though. The only time we had trouble was finding a spot at the pool. With a little rearranging we were always able to find a few chairs though. The resort is just so peaceful. Hope that answered your questions. Sorry, I tend to get a little long-winded!

Re the pool slide down contest! My DDiL did participate and did place, and don't we all have to pay proper respect to her achievement!!! She was the very first to reply when I asked if anyone was interested in June '10 VB vacation.

I just wanted to let you know that because of you I will be at Vero Beach 1 month from tomorrow!!! After I read your post I called to see if they had any rooms left and they had 2 at 2:00 and by 3:00 they only had 1 left and I got IT!!!

Thanks for your post. We are going down to Florida to stay with my mother for 2 weeks and decided to take a side trip to VB for 2 nights!!!

Ha! I love it!! Take some pictures to post for those of us who will be stuck in the snow and cold! That was the only bad thing about this trip. I left my camera at home in Indiana. My sister had a camera, but I don't have access to her pictures yet. Have a GREAT time and can I just say I am SO jealous!

Ohoh, I haven't done it since I turned 60, (the slide that is!) The DGC wanted me to catch them...that's my excuse for '08 and I'm sticking to it...will definitely do it next summer!
