 WE LOVED FRENCH QUARTER!!!

Oh, it was soooo beautiful! I so enjoyed walking to get my coffee each morning and walking back from the busses each night...the flowers and plants were gorgeous! It was so romantic and secluded. We stayed in Bldg. 5 and had a corner room with a king bed!!! We got a code e-mail and the price was so incredible that I requested a king with a preferred view. You should've heard me yelp when we walked up to the door and saw it was indeed a corner!!!! We had a beautiful view of the river....got some great pics!!! We got two towel animals from mousekeeping, which was cool because this has never happened to us.

We loved the DTD boat service...fantastic skippers who drove the boats! It was much faster than the busses...when we went to try the bus service to DTD one night the people at the bus stop had been waiting for 45 min! We loved that the pool and playground were right next to eachother because all the kiddos were contained there...never saw any misbehaving kids or loud ones running around. We had to learn to allow about 1/2 hour to get to the parks with busses that stopped at all the Riverside stops...this was bothersome at first, but was nice on the days when we just needed that time to wake up or to take a moment to catch our breaths!

It wasn't until the fourth night there that we saw some one walk by our room...it was that quiet. The only thing that we didn't care for was the food court...a lot smaller and less offered than at other food courts. We had one meal there...DH loves the food court quesadillas. Other than that, I just got coffee each morning, got DH a doughnut or danish, and tried the beignets...a must try!

I wold book this place in a heartbeat again!!! I was so pleased, it really made our vacation to have the perfect room at the most perfect resort for us!!!

So glad you had a great time!

The French Quarter and Riverside are my two favorite resorts in WDW. You just can't beat the added treat of being able to hop on one of the boats to DTD, especially at night!

We love POFQ too. It's as though once you stay there, you never want to stay anywhere else - it becomes your favorite resort. We tried several deluxe resorts but always go back to POFQ.

Haven't stayed there since becoming a DVC member, but it is a charming resort. Love the street names! Very lovely place with excellent theming. I wish they would re-open Bonfamilies restaurant - I loved that place!

I'm so glad you liked POFQ.
We stayed there for the first time last Dec and loved it.
This Oct we are staying at POP only because it's cheaper. I sure will miss POFQ this time though.

We are POFQ fans too!! We think it is truly a hidden gem, that a lot of people overlook. I wonder if maybe people think that with a Mardi Gras theme it is a party atmosphere rather than a quiet romantic resort. The boats to DTD are very nice, glad to hear you enjoyed them as well. Did you walk along the river to Riverside? Now that is a romantic stroll

glad to hear you had a great visit, and its nice to know that there are other people who love this resort as much as we do!! We can't wait for our honeymoon there

TTFN

Cplofdisneynutz - we are going there for our honeymoon too!!! We'll be there from Oct 3 to Oct 13...what are your dates????

Cheers!

Chantal

It wasn't too bad...we cut through the back and I can't say how long it was in measurement, but for time, it was less than 5 min. and we were in a back corner room of a farther building. Everything is close there. Now Riverside is much larger and spread out. I wouldn't like the distance.

We loved to go for walks around POFQ and just take in everything. The boat rides were so relaxing. The skippers were either quiet and reserved and let you take it all in or were full of funny jokes and cool Disney trivia. Steve, dark hair and good looking, was the best of them all! We were fortunate to be on his boat three trips.

POFQ is our favorite mod as well. We stayed there last November and were able to see it all decorated for christmas. It was beautiful!! :flower:

We stayed at POFQ for the first time in December and we fell in love with it too. We're going back in September and would have reserved it again in a heartbeat, but my mom is coming with us and we wanted a larger room. I've recommended it to several people planning trips and we'll definitely stay there again.

I love the FQ. RS is good just a little crowded even though they are next to each other FQ is better. however i love the architexture at RS especially the food court area.

Can you tell me your room number was and if it was non smoking?I really want a king room with a riverview and a CM told my AAA TA I could only have one or the other which didn't seem right to me.
Thanks!!! :)

The children and I enjoyed POFQ so much that we are heading back there again! It is a very pretty and quaint resort. We liked everything about this resort. I think this is our new favorite moderate resort!

I dont' know. We stayed there this year and I wasn't overly impressed. I will admit it is very quiet and the small size, compared to other resorts, is nice. But, noise doesn't really bother me nor do crowds. I'm not saying I wouldn't recommend it, though. Of course, when we go to WDW, we usually leave our room in the morning and don't return till later that night. We did enjoy the boat ride to DTD; definitely faster than the bus.
