Feeling Hot Hot Hot! The Rain Curse is Broken! Two Weeks of Fun in the Sun! COMPLETE

I did not know that Sid (evil kid from Toy Story) made an appearance in Toy Story 3 as the garbage collector!

how did you not know this.:sad2:

i actually read about all the little extra things on a toy story 3 info site before the movie, so it was fun to try and find the hidden stuff.

there was a good amount of cars 2 stuff (in toy story 3) that referenced the next movie (which of course was the next one in the line of pixar movies)

and i strained my eyes to read all the boards in the first updated then saw you posted them bigger. ohh well, some of the info i didnt know as well, so thanks for taking the pictures of them.
:thumbsup2

sounds like the monring continued to be relaxing for you! i think you picked teh perfect set of characters at Pixar! i too wonder why Lotso is so lovable in the parks:confused3

 Sorry you strained your eyes!

I guess they had to transform his personality, wouldn't want a big pink bear to scare all the kids!

That's so cool there was a marching band in World Showcase! I've performed in Disney with chorus and I've heard about bands and such performing on Main Street in MK, but never in World Showcase. That's really cool :teeth:

I'm so jealous you got to get pictures with Lotso and Mr. Potato Head. I totally missed out on Lotso when he was out for regular M&Gs, and I really wanted to meet him. Great picture with him, btw (: I'm sorry though you didn't get to meet Boo though.

Those little poster boards are real interesting. I knew some of the things, like the guy from the short in Bug's Life coming back for TS2, but I didn't know about Sid as a garbage collector. I sorta had a feeling, but I never really honed in on it. :/

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Those are some big pix Lessa !!! I am not into most of these movies as I get to watch certain ones over and over again at work !!The top of my hit list right now is ALF, followed closely by The Bodyguard , and sadly many of the Disney movies , in my field they tend to watch the same thing over and over and over !!:scared1::scared1::scared1::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Yep, it was so strange to see, definitely not what you expect in World Showcase.

Don't worry, there were lots more unique characters out and about the rest of the day so my heart wasn't all that broken up missing out on Boo. ;)

Well, nobody can complain about not being able to read the posters. :rotfl:

I love all of your Flower and Garden pictures, plus the Pixar pictures. I missed so much on our Epcot days I don't even feel like I can say I did F & G or Pixar weekend.

I love that Lotso is nice in the parks. He is so cuddly, too bad he's so mean.

Great shots of the signs. I was trying to read some but there were always too many people around.

OK. All caught up! Loved the Pixar pics, although I can't believe you don't like Cars :faint: BUt then again I am the one who HATED UP;).

Jimmy actually picked out the Sid reference in Toy Story 3:)

May 15th continued

Mom and I made our way back to Canada to meet up with Alek and Erich. They hadn't arrived yet so Mom stayed up near the front of the pavilion while I wandered down into the gardens to take pictures and see if Le Cellier was checking people in yet (we had an ADR for 11:30).

I saw Mom and the boys heading my way so I went and checked in for lunch. The restaurant wasn't seating anybody yet so we waited in the lobby with the others who had already checked in.

Apparently it is a tradition at Le Cellier for the staff to sing "O Canada" before opening the restaurant for the day. Well okay, we joined in but then things started to get weird and embarrassing. I really hope that Americans and other international visitors do not really think that we sing our national anthem this way. We were embarrassed as Canadians and also embarrassed for the staff as what they did to the song was terrible! Luckily for you we recorded the moment.

Video: Le Cellier O Canada

Out of curiosity I did a search on You Tube for other videos of the Le Cellier staff singing O Canada and in the videos I found they sung the anthem normally. I wonder why they have changed and now sing it so strangely? I hope it was just a one day thing as I really think it is awful if Canada is represented like that on an ongoing basis. Maybe I am making too big a deal out of this but well, it was embarrassing!

As we waited to be seated Alek and Erich started to discuss whether or not the restaurant was authentically Canadian and came up with some tests to decide the matter. It was already determined that they had messed up the national anthem.

We were one of the first groups to be seated and we were placed in the Ontario section.

Our waiter came over and got our drink orders and Alek and Erich decided that would be a good time to test him. He thought it was pretty funny. One of the things they asked him to determine if he was authentically Canadian was "When you were a kid did you use coloured pencils or pencil crayons?" He passed the test. What do you think the right answer to that question is? ;) According to Alek and Erich I am not authentically Canadian as I answered incorrectly, apparently the years we spent living in the States rubbed off on me and I am too American. There were other questions and tests but I don not recall them off the top of my head so you will just have to wait for one of them to update. ;)

As we perused the menu Alek and Erich were once again checking to see if the restaurant was authentically Canadian. Once they saw that poutine was on the menu the matter was settled and despite the unfortunate anthem incident the restaurant passed the test and was declared authentically Canadian!

We spent a lot of time chatting with our server and had a few laughs, really great service!

IMG_1524.jpg

IMG_1523.jpg

While we waited for our food Erich diligently took down some notes in his little trip report notebook.

IMG_1525.jpg

Soon the breadsticks and our appetizers were brought out.

IMG_1526.jpg

I am pretty sure that Alek and Erich shared this appetizer, it was suggested by the waiter.

Spicy Chicken and Chipotle Sausage - with Roasted Corn Polenta and Sweet Onion Jam

IMG_1527.jpg

I, of course, had to order the famous soup: Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup - Made with Moosehead Beer and Smoked Bacon

IMG_1528.jpg

Erich declared that the sausage was very good and I also enjoyed the soup although it didn't live up to the hype. I was expecting something amazing and instead got something that was "pretty good". I ate the soup on its own put I also tried dipping the pretzel bread in the soup which was also very tasty.

Alek and I both ordered the Le Cellier Mushroom Filet Mignon - with wild mushroom risotto, white truffle and herb butter sauce. I replaced the risotto with the creamed cheese mashed potatoes.

IMG_1530.jpg

Oh my gosh, it was so so YUMMY! Really delicious, definitely worth the money!

Erich ordered the Open-faced Canadian Cheese Steak Sandwich - with sauteed onions and peppers, and Boursin cream sauce

IMG_1531.jpg

He also enjoyed this

Mom ordered the Chicken Crepe - with roasted portobello mushrooms, peppers, and a Blue Cheese Bechamel Sauce

IMG_1532.jpg

It was not what she expected. She wasn't able to eat most of it because of the complications with swallowing due to her MS.

We shared the Chocolate Mousse for dessert which was also pretty good!

IMG_1533.jpg

As a joke we left the server a loonie as his tip (a Canadian one dollar coin). Don't worry, we left his actual tip in American currency. =p

Overall I would have to say that in my opinion this was the best meal of the trip! It had great food and great service! I can't wait to eat here again someday.

Yum! Your meal looks and sounds delicious!

And once again, your F and G pics are gorgeous.

WOW your epcot photos are great -- some I recognize as photo pass shots but you took some really really good photos. I will remember that if we get to do flower and garden show again to go once early by myself and have hubby and child catch up after i've had some quiet enjoy the scenery time.

Your comment that the butterfly house was rather empty of butterflies makes me only a little less sorry that we missed it. We were there on the same day.

I had to watch your video of th band to see if you caught Katie and i in it...but you didn't. when this parade hit the pixie hollow are is when Vidia & Rosetta came flitting out. (http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=41315999&postcount=25)

You got so many great shots of the posters outside of Pixar Central. by the time we got there it was mobbed

and OH MY did they butcher you national anthem. I have not heard O Canada since I was a kid but even I know its not supposed to sound like that!

Your lunch look soooo yummy. We didn't do Le Cellier this trip though now I really wish we had. and now I am hungry for steak. :rotfl:

It was so yummy! I could go for that steak and a side of mashed potatoes right now!

Actually those are all my own photos. :goodvibes The only photopass photos I included were the ones that Mom and I were in, I haven't posted any of those bonus flower and garden photos although some of them do look similar.

I can imagine, I was glad that Mom and I were able to hit it when it opened otherwise we wouldn't have gone in.

I know! It was terrible!

Wow, your video of the waitstaff singing "O Canada" was awful and hilarious at the same time. I can understand why you were put off, singing of a national anthem should be serious, and should not have extra additional a la Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer (like a light bulb).

Glad your meal was good! I've never done lunch there, only dinner, but maybe lunch would be a better choice with kids in tow. I'll have to give that some thought for our next trip (which might be as early as April!)

Not ALL Lotso Bears are evil, I'm sure. The one they are featuring at WDW is probably one of the non-evil variety! :rotfl:

And your le Cellier pics are making me drool. We also loved that meal on our trip. And the anthem was odd!!! Hahaha! You crazy Canadians!:lmao:

I am guessing pencil crayons???

poutine was on the menu

And this is????

I also enjoyed the soup although it didn't live up to the hype. I was expecting something amazing and instead got something that was "pretty good".

Oh good, I thought maybe I was the only one!

Glad to here this, it hasn't been getting great reviews lately!

Can't wait to read more!:thumbsup2

I'm embarrassed by that rendition too! Love the test for the waiter. Tell the bros I'm stealing it for next time I eat there. I know the answer since I'm authentically Canadian. :thumbsup2 Lessa do you now have to reprove yourself to your brothers?

Your steak looks delish !I would sub the potatoes for the rissoto also!!! The bread stix were awesome the time I ate there !!I also agree with the soup, it is good but not all it's raved to be !!

Reading all of those pixar fun facts was SO interesting to me!! Thank you so much for posting them! I didn't realize that Sid was the garbage kid in Toy Story 3 either!! I may have noticed but it didn't click in my head. SO COOL!

And the guy from the short film operating on Woody... I noticed that one!! :cool1: I love how they incorporate all of the toys and pizza planet fan and things in each of the movies. So cute!

Mmm le cellier looked DELICIOUS. ugh i'm so hungry but i need to refrain from a midnight snack right now because i ate an ice cream sundae at work  (that's what happens when you eat at an ice cream place... :rotfl:)

Can't wait for the next update!
