How sad the first day of vacation is now over.

I really ruined all the photos with my sunglasses on, I was kicking myself when we get back to the room and previewed all the pictures of the day on the tv, I wanted to drag everyone back out and retake all the pictures, but sans the sunglasses, but I was so tired, having been up for over 24 hours, I had raccoon eyes and toothpicks holding my eyes open, and it just wasn't going to happen, I would have to take a rain check for another day. I had told the kids point prior to leaving on holidays that I wanted to get a few NICE family photos, and we all agreed that it would not be on the first day, and you can see why LOL.

It was great first day, I was on holidays with my kids, the sun was shining, we had left the rain behind, a had a few drinks, a few laughs and the the fun was only beginning, 13 more days!!!

I really enjoyed the hotel, I enjoyed my morning walks at sunrise or just after, IT WAS SO PEACEFUL and QUIET!!! I like being near the water, so it was nice to stop every once in a while and sit on one of the many the benches placed around the lake, and just close my eyes and listen to nature all around, the occasional fish jumping in the water, the turtles sliding off the rocks, the ducks... so peaceful. I was on vacation.

I found CSR was quiet the whole two weeks, a was a bit concerned because I had heard that sometimes when conventions are going on, that it can be a bit busy, and that the relaxed vacation appeal is lost with people in business attire talking work, etc... I did not find this while we were there,even though there was always a convention of some kind going on.

I think I spent the most time at the pool, as it was so cooling and refreshing and it gave me lots of time to read, I had a hard time reading in the hotel room, so I would just throw on my swimsuit and head to the pool, I liked the quiet pool in Casitas, as they had wide steps so one sit in the water and read. I was in heaven... just leave me in the pool with a book and a drink or two and I am good to go, and if I was not back before dark the kids always knew where to find me.

I'm so glad you enjoyed the CSR. I've never understood why people say the "convention" aspect of the resort takes away from their vacation. Especially since the Contemporary, GF, etc., are also convention resorts. We've stayed nine times at CSr and had at least one or two conventions each stay and we have never had a problem with them nor have they taken away from our trip.

I can't wait for the family photos without the sunglasses. But will the boys be serious in them?

I love all the CSR pics! I think we stayed in the Ranchos last time, and I really liked the desert-like landscaping. I also think that your family pictures are very nice. They certainly have personality!

I liked all the sections and would have been happy anywhere, the rooms all look the same inside so didn't matter much to me!

Lessa You know I was rolling when I saw the latest Car Accident Victim pix !!!Now I have 2 favorite Bros pix !!! Gotta say I was pretty partial to the Three Cabelleros, Alex, Erich and Beth!!!!You go Beth, that was a definate Rosie pose !!!!

Unrelated to our trip but we are getting a new roof put on our house and the work started today. Well the roofers discovered that a big raccoon has been living at the top of our pine tree in the backyard, we had no idea! This is sad though as the roofers have to cut part of the tree away to do their work so this poor raccoon is losing its home. Reminds me of Pom Poko. Poor guy, he never bothered us.

Poor thing. I know they are destructive, but the poor thing was just trying to make his way in life, ya know.

Hope the re-roofing goes well! What a pain!

It is rare that I like a photo of myself. I am afraid I do not have a very high opinion of my appearance and I am not very photogenic, combine the two and I hate most pictures!

Apparently he is still up in the tree, he has not allowed the disruption and the trimming of the tree to bother him.

I wish I could ignore it so easily, I was rudely awakened this morning when they started their work, I didn't know they would come out on a Saturday.

Looks like the underwater camera works great! It must have been nice to be able to take such good pool pictures without being afraid of dropping the camera in the water.

Oh man, these pictures of CSR are making me really want to stay there. It never appealed to me in the past but it just looks gorgeous. I think the family pictures turned out well! I always hate pictures of myself, though.
