Arrived home from 7 Day Eastern Magic yesterday. What a wonderful time! Feeling down in the dumps though, woke up this morning and was not on the Magic...BUMMER. Went out to dinner last night and imagine...had to pay for it. Gonna take some adjusting to get back to the real world.

Booked on board for next year. What a deal, category 9 for $899, alternate Eastern itinerary (stops at Antigua), plus $400 on board credit. Sailing date October 2, 2004.

I thought this was interesting. Departure for sailing was delayed from Port Canaveral by about 1 hour last week. Captain Tom decided to hold the ship and wait for approximately two bus loads of passengers that had delayed flights getting into Orlando. How wonderful that the ship was able to wait for those passengers. I could just imagine how upset they were afraid of missing the ship.

Another interesting thing. storms prevented the Sail-Away party from being held on deck 9, party was held in the Atrium instead. Hope to never have that luck again...EXTREMELY crowded and not able to see very well. But you can't control Mother Nature, and DCL did the best it could with an alternate location.

All in all, loved the fifth cruise as much if not more than the first and can't wait to sail again. Let the count down begin. I'll be happy to answer any question you may have out there.

Did they change the on board credit to $400 from $200? Or did you book 2 rooms?

I have read on these boards that it is now a $400 credit per room if you book one of the alternate itinararies on board. This changed fairly recently I believe, July maybe.

You're feeling depressed.......and I'm about to jump out of my skin with excitement, I feel like a fox in the chicken coup!!! We are on the next Eastern Cruise departing this coming Saturday. I can't contain my excitement, feels like I am going to burst at any minute. I received "four live phone calls" from the Magic yesterday from Maleficent59 (Sarah), and got to speak with several different DIS'ers that are on that cruise, including Backaroo's Dad. I was so pumped last night, I had a very hard time falling to sleep. Luckily, it won't be long now, and we will be sailing away!!!!!

It was not available on all bookings. Donna, the DCL agent, seemed to indicate that it was only as an incentive for SOME of the alternate itineraries. The dates listed were September 18,2004 and October 2, 2004.

I'm VERY excited for you also! Wish I were going with you, but I'll have to wait till October 2004. I'm sure that you will have a wonderful time, any may your sail be as smooth as mine was. Oh, I think I might have saved a few shrimp for you.

Speaking of shrimp, on Thursday (sailing day), they had shrimp stand by Quite Cove Pool...didn't have far to roll to get shrimp.

Suecot2000...Can I please bother you to explain how this on-board credit works? I have never sailed Disney before, so does this mean that it goes toward your drinks, tips, etc? Is that $400. per stateroom? When you book in advance like that, do you have to give the names of the people traveling with you, or can you do a TBA(to be announced) like some of the other cruiselines? I would like to take my middle grandson, but not sure if he would be able to go.

Incharge:

This is what I know. The $400 onboard credit is per stateroom, based on double occupancy. This credit may be used for merchandise, spa tretments, shore excursions and other onboard activities. I'm assuming that tips are included in that "other onboard activities". I booked myself and my sister hoping that she will be able to go, and that if she can't that I can change the name of the other person in the stateroom. Not sure if you can do a TBA for the second person. This deal sounded so good, that I couldn't pass it up. I figure that if things don't work out, I could always cancel.

That is a good deal. Maybe then I will get to the spa. I am just trying to see if I can do a 2-months in a row. That would be good. I will check my leave status. Thanks.
